A Long Hiatus

It's been a while, and alot has happened, and I feel like a different person from the one that started this account, what? A year ago?

Something like that.

I am in the process of NaNoWriMo 2016, and am trying to get my life back on track after letting myself get derailed. Updating everything is a big first step, but one that I think will be helpful in the long-run!

I'm currently looking for ways to hold myself *really* accountable for my hobbies/projects/reviews. It's time that I start taking myself as seriously as I expect others to take me...

I started a Twitter account for my reviews, and another for my dog (really, he is that interesting!) and plan on creating a schedule for myself. Beyond that, I don't have a real plan, though...

Before December 1st, I plan to change that. Any help is welcome at this point!!

I have put this book on hiatus
Scarlett - Alexandra Ripley

As of now, I had to put this book on hiatus. Not because of the writing, but because the way it made me feel during and a few hours later after reading. It brought up such intense emotions that I felt unstable temporarily. I do plan on picking this book up again, when I think I can emotionally handle it better.

I read Gone with the Wind four years ago, which was a very bad time for me. I was off meds, not going to therapy, someone who meant a lot to me passed away, and I was in a very toxic relationship/friendship. So while reading this book, it became a symbol and created an emotional link in my psyche (subconscious then, I'm sure) of a really bad time in my life. I thought I have dealt with these issues (on meds, in therapy, grieved, and cut ties with that ex for good), but I think I still have some work to do on that issue (yay! Like I don't have enough to deal with in therapy LOL).

When I start reading this again, I might have to, with help from my therapist to examine why this book affects me like this.

To be clear, I don't think the issue is with this book, but the issue lies in my brain.

TL;DR:

When are you finishing these books/audio?????
The Lynching of Louie Sam - Elizabeth Stewart
Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins
Forever - Karen Ann Hopkins

Hello cherished followers,

Unfortunately, in the past month I've been bombarded with health issues to attend to that have and are sucking up all my energy and motivation. But, never fear, I will be back in the saddle soon!

Guys, I'm going to take a bit of a break

I'm going to be away from BookLikes and some of my other communities in a while. I'll try to be back/resume posting on Friday.  I'm not sure if I"m going to be doing any reading during this time, but if I do, I'll update when I get back.

Reasons for this under the cut:
