Just Being Neighborly
Neighbors With Benefits (Entangled Lovestruck) (Anderson Brothers) - Marissa Clarke

Michael Anderson is a man who likes his comforts.  One of them is in his own home.  Some call him CEO, some call him a control freak.  He meets Mia Argaropolis when she starts house sitting next door and starts a fire.  He runs in and rescues her.

Mia is so embarrassed.  She is known as flighty and a flake simply because she allows it.  Michael makes her feel even more inferior and of course, angry.  She can relate to Clancy the dog - better than he can - and it has them strike a deal.

Michael over hears her ex-boyfriend putting her down.  He says some really nasty things until Michael tells him Mia is his lady and fiance.  Now they have to pretend to like one another and know each other well.

Mia and Michael start spending time together.  Their deal includes room and board, so Mia moves in.  The attraction spikes and sparks are flying!  How can a girl resist such a man?  Can he resist her charm?

I found the banter to be very funny.  I liked the characters and the honesty between them.  The sexy times were sizzling and this is a truly fun read.  I give it a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Blog Tour # 4 - NEIGHBORS WITH BENEFITS

Neighbors with Benefits (Anderson Brothers #2)

by Marissa Clarke

About the Book:

CEO Michael Anderson might be something of a “control freak.” Still, he’s not quite sure why his therapist thinks dogsitting will fix anything―especially since he and the canine share a kind of mutual loathing. And to make matters worse, a house sitter moves in next door disrupting his peace—and his dates—with the worst possible music at the worst possible time… every time.

Free-spirited artist Mia Argaropolis has settled into the perfect gig—housesitting in NYC’s Upper West Side while working as an art therapist. Too bad she’s stuck living next door to a bossy control freak with a penchant for calling building security when she blasts music to drown out the noises coming through his bedroom wall.

Post-apocalyptic dinner rolls that nearly take her kitchen with them, a douchebag ex, and a Shih Tzu with the personality of Godzilla attack Mia in one day, and her unlikely neighbor comes to the rescue. Like it was her fault. And now, somehow, they find themselves engaged? Both agree, this neighborly feud just got taken to a whole new level.

Excerpts: Excerpt 1:

This shouldnt happencant happen.

Shouldnt and cant are very far apart, Mia. Which is it?

I cant. She could actually hear her own heartbeat. Nowasnt an answer Michael Anderson was accustomed to, but then, Mia wasnt his usual fare. There had to be a way to make him understand. If it were two years ago, wed be naked on the floor of this car.

He groaned.

But Im smarter now. Jason taught me to never eat french fries.

His eyes narrowed at the mention of her ex. What do french fries have to do with having sex with me?

Everything. See, you are the french fry. Delicious, salty, easy going down.

He covered his face and groaned again. Oh, God. Stop. Youre killing me.

But youre terrible for me. The worst possible thing.

No. Im not.

I need more than fast food, Michael. Like I told you last week on Bow Bridge, I need a true friend. Someone who wants me for me. Just like a french fry, you might be what I crave, but youre not what I need as a regular diet to stay healthy.

Neighbors with Benefits by Marissa Clarke
Neighbors With Benefits (Entangled Lovestruck) (Anderson Brothers) - Marissa Clarke

**ARC provided through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

I could easily see this book being made into a Hallmark movie, with more of a PG-13 rating, of course.

Hermia Lysander Argarapolis, Mia for short, is housesitting a pretty posh apartment. The only complaint she has is the guy next door. His female companions tend to get a little loud, forcing Mia to turn up her music. Which, in turn, causes him to call security. The owner of the apartment tells her if she gets one more call from security, she's fired. The problem is, Mia is a little scatterbrained, and she completely forgot to set the timer for the bread she put in the oven. Then, when the smoke from the oven causes the alarm to go off, she totally forgot to turn off the water she was running for her bath. Good thing a hunky neighbor stopped by to help. That is, until she realizes the neighbor offering his assistance is the one who calls security on her.

Michael Anderson is a hot shot CEO, who plans on being a bachelor forever. His company is the only thing he wants to be responsible for. But his therapist talks him into dog-sitting, so he'll stop being 'rigid'. He's so good at maintaining control in situations that, when he thinks his neighbor set the building on fire, he was already making plans to buy new clothes. However, he discovers she has only burnt something in the oven and tries to make sure none of the water from the overflowing tub seeps over into his apartment. He was only around Mia for a minute, but there was just something about her that makes him feel responsible for her too.

Mia's impulsiveness and Michael's controlling personality clash from time to time. It was a light-hearted read, not too much drama, but just enough to keep the story going. Romantic, at times, and the Queen B's were so funny, especially Gladys. There is an HEA ending and it can be read as a standalone. Recommended to fans of Romance!
