"The Balm of Love:  Serenity Inn 3" by Nikki Walker

What I enjoyed from this read.

This is my third novel of this author's 'Serenity Inn series and indeed this was a very good read.  I enjoyed this read featuring Eleanor, Terry along with Lindsay and Chad story.  As I was reading this story I had to stop and say wow this is a good read.  I loved how this author was able to give the reader such a good story featuring Eleanor and I loved her transformation...showing that anyone can change if they really desire to.  Forgiveness can be hard but if it is asked ....then all there is ....is to forgive.  I loved how this story deals with forgiveness and even redemption  and how it worked for Eleanor,  It wasn't easy but the story really gives the reader something to think on  long after the read. I was kept on the edge of my seat as we see Eleanor trying to be a better person but will Terry ever forgive her?  This read is a very powerful one and I don't want to give too much away...other than saying you must pick up this well written story and see how well this author delivers it so well to the readers.  Wow...what a touching story where we see a person in the healing process as she seeks forgiveness from those she had wronged.  The big question will be ...will Terry forgive Eleanor...in all that she had put this poor man through?  Had Eleanor really changed and could she be trusted now that she had entered back into Chad's life trying to prove she wasn't a quitter?   Then as the story continues...  there was Lindsay and Chad in all that they were going through,,,with the babies and the TTTS [Twin Transfusion Syndrome]. Will there be some blame from Lindsay and Chad?  What will come of it all as Chad and Lindsay visits to Terry's Wilderness Lodge and now they are all together [Eleanor, Terry, Lindsay and Chad]?  Will Terry ever be again to forgive his wife whom he had loved since junior high school from all she had done to him and his family?

So, as you read through this novel to the end....the reader will get quite some story about what happens when one truly forgives.  This was a excellent story that I would definitely recommend...and even though this is a standalone read...I would highly recommend that if you haven't read the rest of the Serenity Inn series by this author....I would go back and do so.  You will not regret it at all!

Thank you to the author for a well written series!

Better Days (Serenity #2.1) by Joss Whedon & Brett Matthews
Serenity: Better Days - Will Conrad,Brett Matthews,Joss Whedon

I don’t know why I bothered. The illustrations may be a little better but the disjointed and confusing short story and its implications definitely weren’t for me.

Serenity’s crew suddenly become filthy rich. For a while, anyway. And their ‘what I’d do if I were rich’ dreams were the only good thing about Better Days.

"Serenity Inn 2: Love Embraced" by Nikki Walker

Book Description:

"When Lindsay and Chad met at Serenity Inn, there was immediate chemistry, but the timing for love was all wrong in the face of what they had both just gone through. They decide to go their separate ways, but they keep in touch. Now the two have agreed to meet, this time on Dr. Chad’s luxurious home turf, with the feisty Cook along for the ride.

The couple find that they not only still have feelings for each other, but those feelings have grown as though they’d never spent time apart. Their elation is short-lived; however, as they realize that with their burgeoning love comes a new challenge: Chad’s sister-in-law, Eleanor, who makes it abundantly clear that Lindsay is beneath Chad’s station in life. Is Eleanor’s assessment valid or does she have an ulterior motive for tearing Lindsay down?

While Chad deals with Lindsay’s unstable feelings, Walter, who has stepped into Chad’s shoes back at Serenity Inn has had his eye on Elaine for a while. She’s distrustful and secretive, but he still feels drawn to her. She pulls on the protector in him. When she finally begins to open up to him, her past comes crashing into her present and lays bare right at Walter’s feet. Will Walter continue to pursue Elaine, even in the face of her ugly past, which could put them all in danger and disturb their serenity?"

What I liked about this novel....

I thought this author wrote a beautifully told contemporary story of a sweet romance that continues for Lindsay and Chad in this 'Second Chance' read. Lindsay and Cook have come to visit Chad in his home. Will Lindsay be surprise by all the wealth that this doctor has...along with that sister in law...will she enjoy this visit? There will also be lots of surprises of what comes from the trip. Now, along with what is going on with Lindsay and Chad what is going on back at Serenity Inn? Will Walter be able to keep Elaine safe? I really enjoyed how this author was able to bring these two stories together and the end...well this is where I say you must pick up "Serenity Inn 2" to see for yourself how well this author brings it out to the readers. I found all of the characters so richly well developed, likable(some), well portrayed and believable giving the reader a well written inspirational story that will give you food for thought long after the read. Would I recommend? YES!

"Serenity Inn" by Nikki Walker...

"Lindsay Morgan is living a life full of secrets and resentment.  Deciding to move on with her life, Lindsay makes her dream come true, by opening a bed and breakfast, called Serenity Inn.  Hoping to bring a little serenity back into her life, she soon realizes opening a business isn’t so easy.  Then a mysterious man arrives to her inn.  Could he be her knight in shining armor?
Dr. Chad Lewis has been living with secrets of his own and his past is constantly haunting him concerning one fateful moment that ended his career.  On a path of battling his own demons, he finds himself on the front steps of Serenity Inn, looking for forgiveness and peace.
Will the Serenity Inn live up to its name and offer two wounded souls the serenity that they desperately desire?  What will the future hold for these two, when Lindsay and Chad realize that their past is intertwined?"

Why I Read This Book?

I was asked by this author earlier  to take a look at her beta read and since this author writes such amazing novels I wanted to see if this novel was as good as the rest of her reads. Well, I found reading "Serenity Inn" and seeing  it all coming together was really something to read about.   I have read all of this author novels  and  guess what?....this one was not any different...it was simply a amazing read that anyone can  sit back and enjoy.

What I Liked:

This was definitely one of those reads that will catch and keep your attention to the very end.  This author really knows to keep your attention as she sweetly delivers to her readers this well written romantic script.  The story line was simple...with two people who were suffering....Lindsay Morgan and Dr. Chad Lewis.  Bringing these two together took some intriguing steps taken by this author where we find Lindsay "is living a life full of secrets and resentment" and most of all not wanting to be controlled  by another man. Why was this?   Chad had " has been living with secrets of his own and his past is constantly haunting him concerning one fateful moment that ended his career." Chad's plans had been to explain about the anonymous check...'confess, apologize and leave but that had not happened.  Why was that?

We find from the beginning of the story that Lindsay is trying to get it all together for her opening up her   bed and breakfast there in Virginia.   Guess who will come to her rescue and that is all I will say about that. I liked how this author was able to get these two people together and seeing them fall in love was sweet but before that could happen secrets and trust issues will have to come out.  How this was delivered  to the reader was so smoothly presented.  I don't want to tell too much more about "Serenity Inn" because I was you to pick it up and see for yourself how this author brings it all out to the reader.  In the end will Linds and Chad become lovers?   Well,  I guess we will have to  pick up this authors next series to find out.

What I Didn’t Liked:

There was not  any part of  "Serenity Inn" that I did not like....well other than  having to wait to see what will happen in  the next series with Lindsay and Chad.

Overall Impression:

Overall, "Serenity Inn" was  beautifully well written with the two main characters and with interesting secondary characters that  were well  presented  and will definitely draw you into this story.  My  favorite one was Cook.
