Switchblade (Harry Bosch #16.5)
Switchblade - Michael Connelly

Honestly I feel like I read this story somewhere else before. I just didn't find it that interesting and the story had a ridiculous coincidence in order to make the whole thing work. I always liked the idea that Harry made sure that every murder victim had their day, or tried to give them their day. Everyone counts, or no one counts as this character liked to say. That said, this just felt like a weird segue into the world of Harry Bosch.

"Switchblade" has Harry working cold cases. A young boy was found murdered in LA and it looks like a man that is already in jail for murder may have been the perpetrator. Harry interviews the suspect and does what he can to get the DA to file charges. However, Harry puts a link together and realizes that there is another way to make sure the murdered young man is finally given justice.

I wonder if the story could have worked more if we had Harry bouncing ideas of of someone. Besides the perpetrator, we just have Harry also interacting with one of the women who works in the office and the DA. It just fell a bit flat in the end.

"SwitchBlade", by Michael Connelly
Switchblade - Michael Connelly
A Harry Bosh Short Story

Book: 18.5 in the Harry Bosch series

Give me a break Mr. Connelly do you really need to put out a 50 pages or so book with half of it an introduction to a future book. What a shameful marketing ploy
.
Yes the first few pages leave a thrilling little story. It has the usual Connelly touch and excitement but ends fast and is not satisfying in my book. Why did I get it, perusing books at the library I saw this book available from one of my favourite author. I knew I had to get it and did not bother with the synopsis or anything else I simply download it and voilà. ….lesson learnt …..yep I felt for it but at least I didn’t pay a cent….

Switchblade (Michael Connelly)
Switchblade: An Original Story - Michael Connelly

This short story is just that, a bit too short to give an impact in the whole series. Someone gives tips about a murderer of a 19-year-old prostitute back in 1992, and all Bosch has to do is prove it. Truthfully, there isn't much of investigation going on, and Bosch pretty much gets his answers in non complicated way. There's a nice twist in the end about the tipper, but as a short story, it just fall in the line of "okay" for me.

Switchblade Goddess - Lucy A. Snyder I liked it, but seeing the changes in Cooper, and some of the developments at the very end leave me with serious reservations about the next book.
