Shadows You Left - Jude Sierra,Taylor Brooke

Erik asks River to give him a tattoo.  They find they are both attracted and try to see where it goes.  This is hard for Erik since he is often moving around and has trouble with trust.

River does not want to get his hopes up.  He knows Erik is struggling to define himself.  River normally sticks to his routine, however, his longing for Erik puts him at a whole new level.

This book has so much in it.  These characters are seriously in need of one another.  The story can be dark at times.  I actually liked how they were together and found that if I made it past the grit, there was good heat and and friendship.  I give this a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Legacy Strain
Taylor Brooke
(Isolation #3)
Published by: Limitless Publishing
Publication date: June 6th 2017
Genres: Post-Apocalyptic, Science Fiction, Young Adult

Brooklyn Harper’s friends have betrayed her, her heart is broken, and all of humanity is at risk.

After Kirin’s unannounced arrival in Louisiana, Brooklyn finds herself scrambling for a way out of an impossible situation. Kirin is creating the deadly Genesis Cull, and Brooklyn doesn’t know who to turn to for help.

With no other options, she’s forced to trust her nemesis, Juneau Malloy. His support allows the group of Special Omen Operatives to gear up, form a plan of action, and train for the day when they come face-to-face with their worst fear—going to war with their friends.

There is a divide in the once inseparable group of Omens, and their only hope is to put the pieces back together.

Julian Yu Matsumoto agonizes over the difference between right and wrong, love and sacrifice, genocide and revolution. While he struggles with his feelings for Kirin, his moral compass is spinning round and round, his heart is being pulled in different directions, and Julian is desperate to answer questions he never thought he would have to ask.

Is Kirin’s Genesis Cull a revolution or genocide?

Could there be another way to save themselves and humanity as they know it?

Will Julian pay the ultimate price for loving a monster?

Their only hope for redemption is—the Legacy Strain.

My Review

I thought the book was good but not my favorite of the three. I would have to say that I didn't like something that we found out Brooklyn did in the story, and that's one of the main reasons that this book got 4 out of 5 stars. I think Gabriel and Porter are my favorites. I also have to say I didn't care for Julian in this book either, I just don't understand how he could feel the way he does about  Kirin. This guy didn't have any great qualities and was pretty much a boring character. Besides something he does towards the end of the story.

I did enjoy the story though I thought it had plenty of action and I loved most of the book, didn't care much for the ending of it. It wrapped up okay just not the best ending for a book.

My rating would actually be more like a 3 1/2 stars but I went up a 4 star rating, due to the beginning and  the middle of the book.

I am still very happy that I was chosen to take part of this book tour.

Legacy Strain
Legacy Strain - Taylor Brooke Legacy Strain - Taylor Brooke Wow! Legacy Stain just blew me away with all the lies, secrets, betrayal, sacrifices and redemption. Were the lies only secrets to keep everyone you love safe? Were the betrayals only sacrifices to keep the ones you love safe? I think all the characters, Brooklyn, Porter, Gabriel, Dawson, Amber, Julian were all very strong people to be able to do what they did in the end. The love they have for each other was just amazing. Will they redeem their selves in the end?

I loved how the author would keep you in the dark about what was going on and then slam you in the face with it right out of the blue. I would be like whoa I didn’t see that one coming. In my opinion when an author can keep you guessing just for a little while that is great but when she can keep you guessing right up until the end now that is astronomical.

A virus is set to be released on the world and if it is released then hundreds of thousands of people will die. Can Brooklyn and the Omens stop the release of the virus in time to save the lives of all these people? Or is it too late? Come join Brooklyn, Porter and Gabriel on their adventures to save the world and their friends.

If you have not read Legacy Strain then let me suggest that you do. It will blow your mind. Have you read the first book Omen Operation or the second book Echo Campaign? If you have not read these two books then I would suggest that you start with them first as you don’t want to miss out on the Omen’s journeys. Well and so you won’t get confused and will know what is going on.

Book Review: Legacy Strain (Isolation #3) By Taylor Brooke
Legacy Strain - Taylor Brooke

* I received an eARC from the author in exchange of an honest review.

What an awesome ending to an incredible series! I'm not sure what I was expecting as an ending to this crazy adventure. All I know is what I got blew everything out of the water. I also loved the LGBT+ representation in this novel. It's not everyday that I pick up a book that represents and delves into that community.

I have mixed feelings towards Brooklyn because of what was revealed in the end. There was finally a reason for all her guilt, which makes the story that much more intricate. I don't think I would have welcomed her with open arms after all that though. What can I say? I'm petty. I'll admit to it.

I couldn't stand Julien this time around. Who in their right mind falls for a psychopath (which ended up being redeemed in a way)? I also don't believe that love can fix someone or make them more 'understanding'. Though the omens are all genetically altered and their brains work differently, I couldn't sympathize with the situation.

When everything clicked into place, it was like a light switch flipped and finally illuminated all the dark corners of what was actually going on. I wasn't expecting that to be the outcome. The epilogue took away from the story for me because it felt like everything was too perfect. For a group of genetically modified 'people' to get somewhat of a happy ending without something coming back to bite them in the ass is, to me, an impossibility.

My Favorite Quotes:

"Sometimes reality was disorienting, sometimes nothing seemed real."

"Dead was different than gone. Something that was gone could come back. Dead was permanence."

"Perhaps the war had never been about surviving, maybe it had always been about living."

Echo Campaign - Taylor Brooke

ECHO Campaign
Taylor Brooke
(Isolation #2)
Published by: Limitless Publishing
Publication date: November 1st 2016
Genres: Post-Apocalyptic, Science Fiction, Young Adult

Brooklyn Harper’s worst nightmare has become her reality. She has been captured by Isolation…

Trapped in a white-walled labyrinth by Juneau Malloy, Brooklyn is faced with the horrors of Isolation’s finest training yet. The skills she learned as an Omen Operative in Camp Number Eleven are put to the test in the form of brutal assessments of her strength, skills, and fortitude. Confused and disheartened, Brooklyn and the group of renegade Omens prepare for whatever trials Isolation has in store for them.

Juneau has caged her once again, but Brooklyn is far from broken…

When Brooklyn finds out her best friend Gabriel is alive, she goes on a violent rampage in search of her, but instead earns herself a stint in solitary confinement. Juneau attempts to tame Brooklyn through grueling exercises before offering her one radical choice. Brooklyn must hand over her freedom in order to spare her friends. She’ll become a showpiece Juneau will auction off to the highest bidder for her skills in assassination, defense, and combat.

There must be a way out, and the renegade Omens have to find it…

Brooklyn has no intention of becoming Juneau’s latest achievement. During a mind-warping training simulation, Brooklyn uncovers Isolation’s greatest secret and their darkest mistake. Juneau Malloy has created something far more sinister than the Omens, and it’s ready to eat the world alive.

As the battle with Isolation intensifies, Brooklyn is faced with her most dangerous choice yet…

Save her friends—or save humanity.

Wow if you read the first book in this series and thought things were crazy in that one, you haven't seen what crazy really is. My favorite characters have to be Brooklyn, Porter, and Gabriel. What happens in this book, really makes me wish the third book was in my greedy little hands right this freaking minute.

The ending and what happens with the whole team is freaking nuts, but one hell of a ride. It ends with one freaking nail bitting cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see what happens next. What one of the bad guys wants to do is freaking insane, and I sure didn't see it coming that's for sure. I would definitely recommend this book for individuals that want to go on one freaking crazy and awesome adventure.

I asked to be part of this book tour, and this review is my honest opinion on how I felt about this very interesting book.
