Synopsis:

She soon learns that she is a Rook, a high-ranking member of a secret organization called the Checquy that battles the many supernatural forces at work in Britain. She also discovers that she possesses a rare, potentially deadly supernatural ability of her own.

In her quest to uncover which member of the Checquy betrayed her and why, Myfanwy encounters a person with four bodies, an aristocratic woman who can enter her dreams, a secret training facility where children are transformed into deadly fighters, and a conspiracy more vast than she ever could have imagined."

Review:

This is a remarkable work of urban fantasy! Definitely one of my top favorites of 2016. The characters & plot are both so ingenious. They're absolutely incredible & O'Malley incorporates humor with such an ease that it comes off not only very funny but very natural. 

The audio narrator, Susan Duerdon, is also fantastic! Her performance made a 5 star book even better. I really can't recommend it enough - add it to your TBR, you won't be disappointed! 

Damn I hate when they change narrators in the middle of a series! Ughh! Not that I don't like Moira Quirk. She seems to be good too but Susan Duerdon's voices and accents had just started growing on me. Now I have to readjust my perception of all of the characters! : (

I have another top favorite for 2016 - this was fantastic!
