With one more book to go could be Baudelaires be getting closer to finding out any answers and bringing the villainous Count Olaf to justice?? In this journey the children are dropped off in front of the last VFD safe place. The Hotel Dénouement. Here they will be working for vfd as concierges to gain access to the hotel and the guests staying there. Of course, things are never as easy as they seem, as the hotel is swimming with villains and noble people alike, as well as some familiar faces.
At one point during the story it spilts from a single POV to each siblings as they undergo their separate tasks for guests whilst gaining any information they can about the sugar bowl and villains secret plans. One of the biggest problems the children face is that the hotel is run but two mangers. Twins Ernest and Frank, with one working for VFD and the other not.
"Are you who I think you are?"
This question follows the children throughout this book with neither of them knowing which twin is asking them, so the Baudelaires must be smart, smarter than they've ever been before. They can't get caught by the wrong hotel manager and they can't get caught spying. But for once things look like they could change for the children, with the surprise return of Jerome Squalor and Justice Strauss. Both here to help bring the villains to justice and both trying to make it up to children for failing them before.
Happy reading.
