My turn
Trouble Walks In (The McGuire Brothers) - Sara Humphreys

This is book #2, in The McGuire Brothers series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader understanding and enjoyment, I recommend reading this series in order.

Ronan has been in love with Maddy since they were in school.  Growing up in the same small town, he came to appreciate her quirky ways.  She was busy with someone else, so he had to bide his time until it was right to ask her out.

Maddy has had a lot happen to her in the last year alone.  She lost someone she loved.  She knows she must get on with her life, but it is hard to motivate yourself into action.  Ronan changes all of that by just looking at her.

This story was so sexy!  I loved the characters connection right from the beginning.  Good installment for the McGuire Brothers series.  The pace was good.  Seeing characters from the previous story was nice also.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Trouble Walks In (The McGuire Brothers #2) by Sara Humphreys
Trouble Walks In (The McGuire Brothers) - Sara Humphreys

Big city K-9 cop Ronan McGuire loves women, loves his dog, loves his job - but when old flame Maddy Morgan moves into his jurisdiction, he can’t think about anyone else.
Ronan knows she’s way out of his league, but he’s determined to help Maddy live life to the fullest.

Maddy has immersed herself in work and swiftly made a name for herself in the hot New York City real estate market. She’s looking for safety, not love, but Ronan McGuire is as persistent as he is sexy, and his crooked smile is hard to resist. But all other concerns are wiped away when Maddy goes missing and Ronan and his bloodhound K-9 partner are tasked with finding her and bringing her home.

Trouble Walks In was a satisfying romance that had just the perfect amount of friendship building up to lovers kind of journey for Maddy and Ronan.

I liked that there was more to it than just the thriller mystery which was predictable but I thought would have been just as strong a romance even without the extra background whodunit going on.

Trouble Walks In touched a lot on the wealth of family and friends when you need them most and how lucky you are to have them when you got them.

I've always felt that friendship/relationships can go either way. Either you'll never leave the friendspace or you have the foundations for a serious long term relationship and the best kind of partner.

Of course things weren't as simply for Maddy because she's still in the phase of mourning and letting go so readers have the chance to be a part of her healing and opening process as she learns to let her heart love once more. Its really beautiful.

I enjoyed reading Trouble Walks In from beginning to end.
