I enjoyed this romantic mystery. I received this for free and I voluntarily chose to review it. I've given it a 4.5* rating. This had a touch of Romeo and Juliette because of 2 close families through the generations set in New Orleans, Louisiana featuring the old plantations. Add a funny little twist to the everyday workings of one of the smaller plantations, giving tours, renovations and general fixing up of things, and you find yourself pulled into the mystery.
Someone's out to ruin Gretchen's happy-ever-after on the eve before the big day. Can she trust Hunter, the man she's given her heart to?
And can she rely on her sister Daphne (the least reliable person of all!) to help her salvage things? Or is this marriage going to go down in flames before Gretchen and Hunter ever get to the altar?
Includes a sneak peek of Dirty Money, first in Clare’s brand new Roughneck Billionaires series.
I think this novella would have been just as good if Clare had inserted it into a full novel seeing as how short it is. Keep in mind this is a novella having to do with Hunter and Gretchen's wedding (as titled) Hunter is still doing right by his girl while she is still slaving to prove herself (mostly to herself) that she's a worthy partner of Hunter and not one of those typical girls who lives off her man who happens to be a billionaire.
Granted most of it is all in her head but I had been hoping that it would be more romantic than it came off.
The Wedding was still sweet and I liked it but I felt there could have been a little more personal emotions and intimacy involved.

The cover is beautiful with both beasts and the gorgeous rose…simply perfect :)
This is the 2nd book in this series. It is for adults only due to the steamy content. This is a novella length HEA (Happily Ever After), and it is standalone. You do not have to read book 1 though I highly recommend it :)
This is a great feel good story, but book 1 is still my favorite :) Beast is a gruff and growly out of control bear man. He definitely has some issues he is working through. Rose is sweet and doesn’t have any experience out in the world because she takes care of her sisters and father. This story definitely reminds you of Beauty and the Beast, but Sable has made it unique and added my favorite part….shifters. I really enjoy all the fairy tale twist stories.
I recommend this to readers who love the fairy tale twists and especially with shifters :)
