MY REVIEW

I didn’t think Kate could get any more twisted, but I was so wrong. Her desire to know drives her to do unspeakable, twisted and perverted things. Her actions constantly amaze me, and not in a good way. Where our anger and thoughts of doing something bad to someone may flit through our minds, Kate acts on hers.

This latest ‘event’ cannot end well and I don’t know what she’s thinking. She’s fooling herself. People like her can’t have friends. I’m not even sure she can have a husband and kids and I wonder how this story could possibly end with a happy ever after.

If Kate and Jude could live in a sexual frenzy, could they be happy, content with a life in suburbia? Can a serial killer ever be happy? Does killing become an end all, must have, like the air they breathe?

This trilogy has been an amazing journey into the mind of assassins and serial killers, and what motivates them to do the things they do. Sometimes I think I am a little twisted because I loved reading about Kate and Jude so much, but then I think about the author that writes it. LOL

Kate starts out calm and in control…for now, and Jude will settle for that…for now. But what happens the **** hits the fan and Jude fears that more than anything.

And their children…Do serial killers breed serial killers?

Britney King’s in depth descriptions of people, whether it’s the main characters, their petty, drunken neighbors, or the woman in the dress shop treating people like crap because she hates her petty life

We get a glimpse into their past through flashbacks, but that is no excuse for them doing the things they do.

Seeing all books need to be read to follow the story, I don’t want to spoil anything, so all I can say is Kate and Jude are seriously ****** up and I can only wonder how they haven’t managed to kill each other

I love the illustrations heading each chapter, hinting at what’s to come.

After Kate and Jude have sex, Jude’s thoughts are: I think about what we’ve just done, how we’re so broken and yet we fit just right. Then why all the problems? Why can’t Kate be happy? Content?

I started to get bored with the killing (LOL), chatting, kids…and that’s when Britney King throws in a fantastic twist. She lulls me in with a sense of complacency then slams it home.

I have been trying to figure out how Britney King will wrap up The Water Trilogy and couldn’t wrap my mind around a happy ending, but she came up with one that fit very nicely and I can rest…

This twisted, dark suspense thriller series is one you won’t want to miss!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of Come Hell or High Water by Britney King.

Chaos in the Suburbs – Dead in the Water by Britney King @britneyking_
Dead In The Water - Britney King

I read the first book, Water Under The Bridge by Britney King, in this awesome romantic suspense series and fell in love with these characters.

If you want to be enthralled for hours, unable to quite reading, Jude and Kate can do that for you!

MY REVIEW

Dead in the Water by Britney King is Book II of the series and seeing I was blown away by Water Under The Bridge, Book I, I was very excited to get my hands on this one. I love romantic suspense. Throw in some psychotic assassins trying to be ‘normal’ and I cannot resist. Britney did not let my down. In fact, she kept the surprises coming and I couldn’t stop reading.

Faking normality in suburbia.

Two assassins do their best to blend in with the ‘normal’ people.

“If we don’t play the game, we’re Dead in the Water. All animals have the ability to sniff out that which is not like them, and these people…they’re dying to find the rat.”

Jude keeps his secrets close to the vest, trying to fit in.

Kate has always been the one in control…

Twisted, psychotic and to know they…

It’s hard to share anything because I don’t want to do anything to spoil the story. I love the damaged, psychotic characters, Jude and Kate. They are two assassins but they murder in different ways and for different reasons. Which is worse? All the details makes it even creepier and disturbing, but I start to feel empathy for Jude and even Kate…at times.

I struggle to find words that describe my thoughts and feelings for this outrageous take on two psychopathic serial killers. Their perverted sense of normal makes me think they might just fit in. LOL

I keep wondering who will kill who. Will they get caught?

Monique was a situation I didn’t foresee and what a fabulous twist. I didn’t think about it much before hand, but what a wonderful surprise and it takes a master storyteller to keep the suspense at a high level throughout.

The continuous surprises from these incredibly complex characters make Dead in the Water impossible to put down.

I like the illustrations at the chapter breaks.

I have never read anything quite like this series and can hardly wait to read more!

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

#5Star New Release – Water Under the Bridge by Britney King @britneyking_
Water Under The Bridge: A Novel - Britney King

Water Under The Bridge was listed as one of iBooks Most Anticipated Romance’s of Fall in the romantic suspense category!!!

I love romantic suspense, so when Britney King asked me if I wanted to read Water Under the Bridge I said yes. I am so glad I did, because I now know why iBooks raved about this fantastic novel that knocked my socks off.

I have not read any other works by her, but I aim to correct that.

This gorgeous cover looks so nice…doesn’t it? Britney King designed it herself.

Wait til you read the not so nice story inside!!!!!

MY REVIEW

I love the cover for Water Under The Bridge by Britney King. She designed it herself. It looks like it could be for a paranormal/supernatural novel, but this is so much better. We have not one, but two serial killers!!! And one is female!!! The is a love story like none I have ever read before.

Each chapter starts with a sketch and I like to try and figure out what it’s telling me.

The beginning is tantalizing, teasing me, making me have to know how we got to this point.

“Maybe you would be better off dead and I can’t help but wonder if I have it in me.”

What do you think of that?

Kate wants a divorce. She likes to be in control, but so does he. The judge says six months of counseling. Can you imagine a judge telling two serial killers they have to go to counseling?   And then the counselor telling them to write a letter before their next appointment. What do you think would be in the letter? His is titled:

Water Under The Bridge

When they first meet, he never could have anticipated what the future held for them. It made me think of a Criminal Minds episode, you know, when two like minded individuals encounter each other and immediately know WHAT they are, and it ain’t normal.

I am so hooked, from the very beginning, devouring the words, knowing at 11% that I won’t be able to stop until it’s over.

I can’t say much about the story or the characters because it will give away too much of this deliciously evil and wicked story. The characters are so complex, so outside the norm, so twisted. We know they are both serial killers, so to think they can have a normal life is…well…difficult to imagine. Marriage? Children? Can sociopaths love?

Til death us do part may mean an entirely different thing to them.

I had wondered about their first meeting and what would be the outcome. The clues were there for me to figure out from the beginning, but this was a new twist I didn’t anticipate so I missed it. Nice one Britney. I love when an author makes me question my assumptions and Britney does, from the opening pages.

Britney King’s writing is fabulous, creating tension and suspense, the pacing whetting my sense of anticipation. One thing after another after another. I gotta know. I gotta know what comes next.

I find myself falling for these terribly flawed human beings and using the word flawed is putting it mildly! I want a happy ever after for these cold blooded killers.

There are so many wonderful surprises hidden between ‘the pages’ of this awesome, heartpounding, thrill ride. So…you better hold on tight

The ending…how marvelous. I am shocked, left with my mouth hanging open and lovin’ every minute of it. I know an author has come up with some great ideas when I am left feeling lost without more to read. But wait…

Water Under The Bridge by Britney King started out as a solo novel. Now, it will be a trilogy, but each book can stand alone. I am so happy.

I received a free copy of Water Under The Bridge from Britney King.

Bedrock - Britney King This book had such potential but fell short. Too many under developed ideas. Maybe if the story was longer it would have helped...Very disappointing...:(
