The Older Man - Laurey Bright I would have given jt 3 stars if it wasn't for the horrid ending. The rest of the story was beautiful.

A Perfect Marriage (Silhouette Intimate Moments, #621) - Laurey Bright 2.5 stars. I could barely forgive the H in this one and that is only because they were upfront with each other TWELVE YEARS AGO when they first got married and she treated him like a shoe. IMO, he really hurt her with all the luuuurv he professed regarding this other woman. He really should be left to the curb but, eh.

Guilty Passion
A Guilty Passion (Silhouette Special Editions, #586) - Laurey Bright I had problems galore with the book and I really don't know how to rate it, for most of the book the hero makes offensive comments pertaining to the heroine's character and she doesn't seem to respond at all and instead goes on as if everything is normal, living in his house though sometimes she makes a token protest of leaving.

Oh, she is his sister-in-law who was married to his much older brother, her marriage basically sucked the life out of her, her husband once a very able man, had become injured when he met her, she was 20 and a college student and she fell for his charm and married him quitting studies and then trying to please him, she felt like a trophy sometimes he tried to show off and then later on he became jealous and she started dressing down and before she knew it, she had no friends her age and when he died, she kind of went about life in a stupor and for most of the book only that happens and I kept wondering am I supposed to be in a fog like her?

She gets better, worse and then better and somehow she finally leaves and creates a life for herself when Ethan comes to her months later. Honestly, I didn't see the romance and didn't understand why after going through a bad marriage she agreed to marry him. He had been so disparaging about her and suddenly she is all okay?I liked the writing but somehow the book left a lot to be desired.

The Older Man - Laurey Bright Rating 3.5
I enjoyed this book, when the book starts the heroine thinks of the hero as a stuffy old man, while he kind of looks on her as a child and suffers from the wrong assumption that she is carrying a torch for Ethan(the hero from Guilty Passions), the heroine gets annoyed by his conclusions and decides to play full teenage angst to the hilt, which kind of gets out of hand when he learns the truth and they share a passionate kiss, which shocks them both but his reaction is not happy, as he tells her, he is twice her age, divorced with two kids.

Somehow things happen and his ex-wife dies making him a full-time dad from a weekend one and the kids who love her suddenly find her as the nanny. The heroine is studying to be a law student and find herself more & more intrigued by the hero who tells her that nothing will happen b/w them, she reminds him of his ex, who was ten years younger & a law student when she married him, the heroine is almost twenty and even more younger. He has no intention of getting hitched again, his ex was a kind of a perfectionist & their relationship strained.

The book takes place over the course of a year, despite strong feelings the hero doesn't act on them and sends her away telling her to live her life and they spend months apart, she turns 21, completing her degree and in the end it is him who has to do the chasing.
