DIRTY FILTHY RICH BOYS by Laurelin Paige
Dirty Filthy Rich Boys - Laurelin Paige Dirty Filthy Rich Boys - Laurelin Paige

Sabrina goes to Harvard on a scholarship. In her Ethics class she sees Weston King and falls for him so she goes to parties at the Keep trying to meet him. He always has someone so one night he forgets to latch the door leading to the bedrooms upstairs and she follows and watches him. She then becomes aware someone was watching her. She gets into a discussion the Donovan Kincaid who is the TA in her Ethics class. Later that night while waiting for an escort car she is rescued from attack by Donovan. Her thoughts then turn to Donovan. What is she to do?

I liked this story. I liked Sabrina. She is trying to to her best in school to keep her scholarship. Meeting Weston and Donovan does mess up her thoughts. Both are privileged and know it. Some bad circumstances cause Sabrina to go home. Then this ends on a cliff hanger. I have to get the rest of the series.

ARC REVIEW Cowboy Courage by Carolyn Brown
Cowboy Courage (Longhorn Canyon, #6)Longhorn Canyon #6, Yay! It's Hud finally. A second chance romance. Rose, Hud's middle school crush, shows up in town to help her great aunt run her B&B and gift shop while she's on vacation with the Fab 5. Rose is at a crossroads in her life right now she can either re-up in the Army or do something else with her life as long as it's not going back to her family in the commune. One thing she knows for sure she's not going to make a decision based solely on a guy, not even a guy she's never stopped thinking about since she left without saying goodbye. Hud knows it's her choice whether to stay or not and seeing how there is not a opportunities for a multilingual language specialist he's worried he's going to lose her before they even get the chance.

In a funny Murphy's Law sort of way Rose and Hud are pushed to their limits. Both Rose and Hud have to face some truths before they can finally admit their feelings but when they do nothing will keep them apart not even a tornado in January. I really enjoyed this book. I loved Hud and Rose. I would love to see more of Great Aunt Luna she's my kind gal. Overall, this is a fun read Hud is a real sweetheart and Rose is a bright head strong woman  who picks her battles wisely. I am really looking forward to Pax's story next.

Believe Like a Child
Believe Like a Child - Paige Dearth
I’m been wanting to read this book ever since I saw its cover many years ago and then, when I won a copy of it from a Goodreads Giveaway, I was excited. The book moved quickly yet it didn’t leave anything out. I hadn’t expected the hurricane of events that swept through the pages but it was the eye of the storm that walked into her life that scared me the most. That eye that looked so calm and who she thought was her answer. Her answer was actually another devil in disguise.

I knew this book would be difficult one to read based on the subject matter but there’s something about books like these that I enjoy. I feel it’s the energy these books deliver as the characters gain strength and control as the book progresses. It’s also their fight and spirit that they acquire along their journey. Alessa’s story, like our own, is unique.

As I met Alessa, my heart broke. She was still a child yet no one was looking out for her. She soon realized, she’d have to take care of herself and her own needs. This didn’t make her self-centered or hard, it made her resourceful. Not all of Alessa’s choices were great or “right” but they were what Alessa had at the time and what she knew.

I liked how the book told the story from different perspectives and how issues weren’t instantly solved. I wondered sometimes about Alessa’s choices but I’ve never walked in her shoes, so I couldn’t judge her actions. She did, what she did, so she see another day. The book moved quickly and I enjoyed that, we didn’t get blogged down in too much information about the events that were taking place. There were highs and lows throughout the book which keep the book moving along. I was not expecting that ending though. What was up with that?! As I started to read the ending, I had a feeling but I thought things would turn around but what the heck.

It’s a tough book to read but I’m so glad I got the opportunity to read it. Thank you to the author and to Goodreads for my copy of the book. This review is my opinion of the book.
