Inspiration to write by Lia Davis

There are many things at inspire writers and many different reasons why someone becomes a writer. For me, the drive had always been there and it grew from my love for reading. Up until 2008, I always wrote stories for my own enjoyment and to have something to focus on. So what changed?

The ability to self-publish. I’m a control freak and a little impatient. So I started researching. Then I read the Twilight Sage. That sparked my obsession with paranormal romance. My muse started jumping up and down and shooting all kinds of ideas my way. So I sat down and began to write with the intent to publish my works.

I never looked back. The only thing I wish could had been different is that I discovered all this sooner in my life. But all things happen for a reason.

Paranormal is still my go to genre to read. I love dark and suspenseful stories. What about you? What do you love to read?

This is book # 3 in the Bears of Blackrock series.  This book is not meant to be a standalone, but can be read alone if needed.  It is best read in the order the author intended, as that will help with inside jokes and full understanding of the material read.

Holt and Tiffany have known one another their whole lives and are friends.  Now when she needs him to heal her, she gets a kiss instead.  Suddenly they both realize they are each others mates and need to find out if the other accepts them.

This is a short and sweet read.  I had found that I wanted more to the story.  It is just a quick novella and you feel how strong the pull is between the characters.  I just felt a bit rushed on this one.  I give the book a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Tiffany is a baker and is preparing for the Winter Solstice and her brother’s mating ceremony when she breaks her ankle. When Holt, the sexy bear Healer, shows up at her house to help her, sparks fly and she finds out he’s her mate. When Holt realizes Tiffany is his mate, he panics a little and leaves while he tries to figure it out. He shows up the next morning to help her out and to get close to his new mate.

This was a really quick and cute story. Even though it was short, the author did a good job of making it feel complete. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I really wanted to enjoy this. The problem was that for me it felt like it needed one more tweaking and polishing before being published. Words ran into each other making it distracting and easy t lose my train of thought. I thought word choices could have different. The dialogue felt flat. And the character developement was just so-so. I didn't connect with anyone from the book and didn't really care what happened to them. 

You know those freebie shifter romance books you can get on Amazon for that are mediocre at best? That is what this reminded me of.
