Paint the Stars (Free Fall #3) by Christina Lee and Nyrae Dawn 4 Star Review
Paint the Stars - Nyrae Dawn,Christina Lee

Ezra Greene has made a pretty decent life for himself. He has a nice apartment and spends his days doing the one thing he’s always loved—creating art. Despite being somewhat of a grumpy recluse, he’s even made a few loyal friends. When he takes a side job painting a mural at a local holistic center, he can’t help being curious about a certain friendly and self-assured yoga instructor, even if he doesn’t buy into any of that Zen crap. His holier-than-thou family already tried fitting him inside a box, and he swore he’d never be molded into anybody’s belief system again.

For Daevonte Randall, adulthood has worked out pretty well. He’s close to his parents and lives with an awesome roommate. He’s content with weekend hookups, teaching yoga, and taking college courses. What he doesn’t expect is to be so intrigued by the brooding and reserved painter he’s been tasked to stay after hours with at the center. Something fascinates him about Ezra, even after Daevonte’s attempts at flirting gets him friend-zoned on the spot.

As weeks pass, Ezra and Dae get to know each other, and soon their friendship catches fire. But Ezra’s been burned pretty badly before so trust and intimacy has to be earned. Daevonte feels up to the task, but it proves difficult as Ezra continues to keep his emotions in check. Dae’s only willing to wait so long, and when they’re dealt a surprising blow, Ezra needs to decide if love is worth the risk, that is…if it’s not too late.

Review

This is a great romance between grumpy artist Ezra and warm Daevonte the yoga instructor.

We get to visit the friends in this series and watch a love story unfold. Erza's sexuality and personality make a great tension with Daevonte sexuality and personality. They like each other and it a treat to read.

All the little details of this book and work make it a really lovely tender and hot read.

Release Day 4 STAR Review! Highland Dragon Rebel (Dawn of the Highland Dragon #2) Isabel Cooper
Highland Dragon Rebel (Dawn of the Highland Dragon) - Isabel Cooper

Madoc of Avandos is on a journey to cement alliances. Targeted by an assassin, he needs a companion who can fight. When dragon shifter Moiread MacAlasdair returns from war, he knows she's the best woman for the job. Duty and political strength compel Moiread to agree, but when they cross into the otherworld and Madoc's life is threatened, Moiread jumps into protection mode-and will do whatever it takes to keep the man of her dreams alive.

Moiread and Madoc are brought to brilliant life as readers join them on their quest to protect the future of Wales. Along the way the couple enjoy a light hearted romance that they both seem to believe can’t really go any further due to some pretty interesting concerns which keeps readers wondering until the very end.

Their romance as well as their quest is fraught with danger and suspense as assassins seem to pop up everywhere with the determination to keep them from accomplishing their goal. The thrilling uncertainty certainly keeps readers on the edge of their seat as magic and dragons add wonder and excitement for readers and characters alike.

The story is set in long ago Scotland, England and Wales as well as another magical realm which adds spice and beauty to the journey for the readers and the pace is a nice even one that keeps readers glued to the pages. I have to say that keeping the romance on such an intriguing last minute timeline kept the “happily ever after” in question throughout and then there was a spectacular final battle between Madoc, Moiread and the assassin to liven things up while adding an inspired and surprising twist that I didn’t see coming.

I haven’t read the first book in the Dawn of the Highland Dragon series yet, but I am definitely going to be remedying that before the release of Highland Dragon Master in March and not just because I love dragon shifters. Isabel Cooper used well written descriptions to paint vibrant settings and brilliant characters that I just fell in love with so I can’t wait to visit the Highland Dragons once again.

Highland Dragon Rebel is the 2nd book in the Dawn of the Highland Dragon series.

Highland Dragon Master will be released on March 6, 2018.

Highland Dragon Rebel is available in print & ebook at:

Amazon   B&N   BAM – Print   ebook   GPlay   Kobo   Sourcebooks

Indigo – print   ebook   iBooks   IndieB   eBooks

Isabel Cooper can be found at:

Amazing Historical Romance
The Perfect Duke - Dawn Ireland

The Perfect Duke by Dawn Ireland is an awesome historical romance.  Ms Ireland has delivered a well-written book and packed it full of outstanding characters.  Cara and Garret’s story is full of drama, action, suspense, humor and sizzle.  I loved this book and look forward to reading more from Dawn Ireland in the future.  The Perfect Duke is book 2 of the Georgians Beyond The Pale Series but can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Reading progress update: I've read 29%.
Gotham: Dawn of Darkness - Jason Starr

"'It is.  I see it right know.'"

First typo I've seen and it's pretty glaring.   Overall, though, enjoying this.   It has almost everything I adore about the show, but I could use more Nygma and Cobblepot.  I understand why the focus is on Thomas Wayne, though, seeing as this is a prequel.

One Sentence Review – Dead by Dawn by Bret Wellman #BretWellman
Dead by Dawn: A Vampire Horror Thriller Novel - Bret Wellman

Bret Wellman and I have some Halloween Horror coming your way in this fabulous vampire apocalypse, Dead by Dawn.

Dead by Dawn

Goodreads  /  Amazon  US  /  Amazon UK Amazon CA

MY ONE SENTENCE REVIEW

You’ll want some fire, some wood, some silver, some holy water and a cross to deal with these old time vampires since Bret Wellman has done a fantastic job of coming up with some new, gut wrenching ways to die in an apocalypse, and I fear for all the characters, especially the one that holds my name, Sherry…Hits a little too close to home in what has turned out to be one of my favorite vampire stories.

Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos 4 Stars

GOODREADS BLURB

At first it appeared to be a normal sickness, but when the bodies began to drop, the nightmare rose.

When a video goes viral of a man’s dead son walking around, people begin to speculate. These speculations only continue to grow as a new virus sweeps its way across the east coast, killing thousands. It soon appears that someone is trying to contain this disease, snatching almost every infected body during the night. As the government steps in, the people become aware that they are under attack from something much worse than a virus. Now they must ban together and fight for their lives against the creatures of the night.

Filled with suspense, fright, and action, Dead by Dawn is sure to be one of the best vampire fiction novels of the year. One of the greatest vampire plagues that you’re not going to want to miss!
