Review: Council of Souls (Fated Eternals #1) by Jen Printy
Council of Souls - Jen Printy

After surviving the perils of an ancient family feud, Jack Hammond and Leah Winters believe only happiness lies ahead. However, their future isn’t as secure as they think. When Death and his council arrive to welcome Leah into their treacherous shadow world, the couple discovers that Leah’s immortality has come with a high price.

With Artagan’s help, Leah slowly learns how to navigate the dark waters of the Concilium Animarum—the Council of Souls. As their world starts to unravel further, their love is all Jack and Leah have left. Will that be enough?

4.5 ★

I liked this book a lot better than book one…. It had a lot of growth from the characters to the story.

We pick up shortly after where the last book ended and see how Leah handles her immortality. Just when they think all is set and done and they can live in peace things get messy.

I really enjoyed the pace of this book it was not too fast, nor too slow.

I really thought I knew where this was going but there were a few surprises along the way and we get thrown for a loop, which I really loved .

I really enjoyed that Jack and Leah not only grew themselves but with the story.

I found both Jack and Leah a bit annoying last book, while I was still not a big fan of them I liked them better this book, that it I just got used to them. While I liked them individually better, I didn’t really care for them together. It was all a bit much and maybe seemed a bit too pushed overall and Jack sometimes came over more of an immature brat than jealous.

Artagan was still my favorite but we also mee t some pretty cool new people.

Overall I really enjoyed more than last book and thought it was a interesting book that kept me captivated to the last page.

I rate it 4.5 ★

REVIEW BY MERISSA - Council of Souls (Fated Eternals #2) by Jen Printy
Council of Souls - Jen Printy
Council of Souls is the second book in the Fated Eternals series, and we continue our story with Jack and Leah. We start off with Artegan as he finds out just what Death intends for Leah now. He knows that Jack won't like it, and will possibly do something stupid, so he doesn't say anything until the last minute. With her new duties taking up a lot of time, Leah struggles to find her balance, but Jack is on hand to remind her just who she is. A mystery woman on a train gives him food for thought, as the machinations of the council start to take over their lives.

This is a good continuation of their story, even though it's been a while since I read the first book, I was instantly drawn back into their world. There are lots of twists and turns, with intrigue galore, as the story progresses. It is smoothly written, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. I have no hesitation in recommending this book, although I would recommend that you read book one first as the story follows on.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *
