This paranormal romance grips readers with intense emotions and a feeling of suspenseful expectation as Hana, Ethan and Rogue Inc., go up against a coven of witches. Ethan and Hana are strong, captivating characters that tugs at readers’ heartstrings while drawing them into their story. This story also has a darling child that warms the heart as she charms her way through a difficult situation. The chemistry between Ethan and Hana burns bright and sizzles with an electrical current, but the romance between them is full of tension and mistrust which causes lots of turbulent emotions and ensures that this is one relationship that is no way guaranteed.

The plot is fast paced and starts off with tension filled suspense and continues to build thrilling suspense, intense situations and exciting drama and action which keeps readers on the edge of their seat as the Rogue Inc. team set out to help Hana and her child. The world is fascinating with lots of wonderful characters for readers to be captivated by and the author provided vivid details that ensure that readers enjoy every last word of this intensely exciting romance.

I was just introduced to author. Gayle Parness and her shifter world and I am hooked. I was introduced to her world by Gabe and Sinc in A Stubborn Heart, which is the first book in the Rogues Inc. series which includes characters from the Rogue Shifter and Triad series. The World is well developed and inviting with lots of strong, compelling characters that I really want to get to know better so I will be visiting the previous series as soon as possible. Gabe and Sinc were captivating and their story was full of romance, passion, chemistry and suspense.

Gabe and Sinc had a very troubling past, so their romance is full of emotional turmoil that pulls the reader into their story as they work hard to overcome the past and move forward, but the journey forward is no picnic either due to the circumstances that the couple must endure. Sinc is a solid character that draws empathy from the readers as well as she strives to stabilize her world since the explosion. Note – the explosion took place in a previous book but I had no problem catching on to what was going on.

This fast paced story is full of thrills and suspense that gets the heart pumping and hanging on to the edge of their seats as these characters have to deal with heart breaking and disappointing but also cathartic issues before they heal and start a new chapter in their life. (Beware that the way the issues are solved is quite violent but to me well deserved). The story jumps ahead a bit as changes to Gabe and Sinc’s lives progress toward a hopefully bright future which also adds to the depth and the overall full view of this couples journey toward their happily ever after.

I was completely enthralled with A Stubborn Heart and Gayle Parness’s shifter world which she painted such vivid images of that I was easily able to picture the scenes and I eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.
