Review: Red Wolf (Shifters Unbound #10) by Jennifer Ashley
Red Wolf (A Shifters Unbound Novel) - Jennifer Ashley
Red Wolf

Shifters Unbound #10
Jennifer Ashley
Paranormal Romance - Urban Fantasy
Berkley Books
May 2nd 2017
Paperback

The New York Times bestselling author of Guardian's Matereturns to the world of the Shifters and a tale of a new love under fire...

A man is only as strong...

Red wolf Shifter Dimitri has fought his whole life for respect. It is claimed that red wolves are tainted with coyote blood and therefore not pure. He may not be skilled at verbally defending himself, but because he's a bodyguard, tracker, and champion of the fight clubs, his fists are always ready for some rough and tumble. However, he'd prefer a roll in the hay with the woman who is his oldest friend.

...as the woman who's got his back...

A spirited leopard Shifter and a fellow tracker, Jaycee Bordeaux has no problem forging a mate bond with Dimitri, but soon the two are called to infiltrate a rogue group bent on enslaving Shifters. Jaycee may have defended Dimitri from taunts before, but they now face a more lethal danger--one that threatens not only the future of their people, but also their love.

Red Wolf is gripping, exciting, nerve wracking, and had me falling more in love with this series. I relished this installment.

Jaycee is strong, capable, and reluctant to accept the mate claim. Dimitri is strong, sexy, and has a stutter which only adds to his character. The reluctant’s that Jaycee has was handled well and the stutter only added to Dimitri’s unique character aspect. The romance is sweet and these two worked well together.

I absolutely loved returning to the sentient house. We got a small taste of this unique house in Wild Things, so to come back and see more. It was fabulous. We also get to go to fairy and that aspect was exhilarating and the danger is heart stoping.

Red Wolf was crafted together superbly and is a breathtaking addition.

Historical Christmas Romance
Mackenzie Family Christmas: The Perfect Gift (Highland Pleasures, #4.5) - Jennifer Ashley

Mackenzie Family Christmas: The Perfect Gift by Jennifer Ashley is a fairly short read, a good choice for those with limited time for reading.  If you are familiar with the Mackenzie Series, you won't have any trouble with this book.  If you aren't familiar, you may have trouble keeping the characters straight in the beginning of the book.  This is a Christmas story of the Mackenzie brothers and their wives and is an entertaining read.  There is plenty of drama, humor and spice to hold a reader's attention.  I enjoyed this holiday book and look forward to reading more from Jennifer Ashley in the future.  A Mackenzie Family Christmas is book 4.5 of the Mackenzie & McBrides Series but can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read a free copy of this book that I received from BookFunnel.

Past Crimes: A Compendium of Historical Mysteries by Ashley Garner

Any fans of historical mysteries here? Ashley Gardner is a pseudonym for author Jennifer Ashley. Ashley is the author of the Captain Lacey Regency Mysteries series and the newly released the Leonidas Gladiator mystery series. She also writes the Kat Holloway Victorian (Below Stairs) Mysteries as Jennifer Ashley. And if you like historical and paranormal romances like me, you probably know she's also the author of the Mackenzies series and Unbound Shifters series.

Step into the past through three historical mysteries that reach from Imperial Rome to Victorian London.

A Soupçon of Poison
(Kat Holloway Victorian Mysteries)

Kat Holloway, a young cook who is highly sought after by the wealthy of Victorian London, becomes embroiled in murder and must clear her name. Only the mysterious Daniel McAdam, who is much more than he seems, can come to her aid.

Blood Debts
(Leonidas the Gladiator Mysteries)

Leonidas, freedman, once the most popular gladiator in Rome and champion of the games, now must fight for his life outside the arena. A man who owed him money was murdered, and Leonidas is a prime suspect. With the assistance of Cassia, daughter of a Greek scribe who has been bestowed upon him as his slave, Leonidas fights for justice in the back lanes of Imperial Rome.

The Necklace Affair
(Captain Lacey Regency Mysteries)

Captain Lacey agrees to help a society matron discover what has become of her cherished diamond necklace and to clear her maid, who has been arrested for its theft. Lacey quickly becomes enmeshed in scandal and past secrets, and finds himself competing with the underworld criminal, James Denis, for the necklace's retrieval.

This collection includes three previously released novellas of about 25,000-30,000 words each.

Except the budding Bailey, with whom Adam had a brief but intense affair, has blossomed into a beautiful woman. Now the sparks that had once ignited between them threaten to explode.

Adam is beaten-up, broken-down, and has lost his nerve—the stunt that injured him also killed his best friend. The only one he can turn to is Bailey, but will Bailey, who has come back to Riverbend to lick her wounds after a painful divorce, be willing to help him again?

Adam was a sweet second chance romance in Jennifer Ashley’s, Riding Hard series.

It’s a fast read, with plenty of alphas, horses, and strong women. I enjoyed meeting the Campbell family, each brother is unique. I loved the strong family bonds portrayed and the loyalty they have for one another. I also had fun with the family and their business of being trick riders. Adam was yummy and Bailey was perfect for him. The romance is sweet and you can see they still have chemistry, even after all these years.

Adam was an enjoyable feel good romance. I had a delightful time reading.
