Montana Born Bachelor Auction series
Bound to the Bachelor - Sarah Mayberry
Bachelor at her Bidding - Kate Hardy
The Bachelor's Baby - Dani Collins
What a Bachelor Needs - Kelly Hunter
In Bed with the Bachelor - Megan Crane
One Night with Her Bachelor - Kat Latham

***copies provided by publisher through NetGalley***

I wasn't expecting a work of art, but at least something that would've kept me engaged. It didn't.

It was filled with clichés, it was predictable, featured bland characters and a very iffy insta-love romance that failed to strike the right notes, but at least it was a quick read.

The hero was a saint, the heroine was a self-righteous bitch filled with self-pity, the plot was rife with clichés and seemed written by a high-school student.

This book was one massive clichéd rip-off of a Harlequin story (just read the blurb to know why).

The characters were poorly (or none at all) developed, the heroine's issues were annoying and the "drama" unnecessary and forced...I ended up skimming the better part of it.

If I had to use a word to describe this story it would be "simple". Too simple, in fact, with a very basic, rehashed and clichéd plot, and a cheesy, ordinary romance.
There was no conflict, no depth, no agency...It was just there, not doing anything.

Poorly written with way too much inner monologues and with even more poorly drafted characters making them difficult to understand, empathize, sympathize and/or like.
Slow, boring and firmly in the "meh" category.

Rather inconsistent (character- and their behavior-wise), and definitely nothing to write home about.
It had potential, but the author failed to bring it to fruition.

On The Edge by Francine Pascal
On the Edge - Francine Pascal,Kate William

Series: #40 in Sweet Valley High

Headed for trouble...
Regina Morrow and Bruce Patman have been going together for months. But when beautiful, devious Amy Sutton is paired up with Bruce on a school project, she schemes to steal him away from Regina. Little by little Bruce's resistance to Amy's charm begins to crumble.
Regina is furious when she discovers that Bruce has been seeing Amy behind her back. Hurt and betrayed, she turns to Justin Belson, a troubled senior at Sweet Valley High. Regina's friends are worried. They think Justin and his crowd are bad news--it's rumored that some of them are drug users. Is Regina on a dangerous course? (from Goodreads)

This was such a sad book.

Amy Sutton and Bruce Patman are working on a health class project together about drugs. The more time they spend together, the more Bruce starts lapsing into his playboy self from the beginning of the series, and the more he falls for Amy. They hide it from Regina Morrow, Bruce's girlfriend. When Regina catches them at a BBQ held by the Wakefield twins, she feels betrayed by everyone present and turns to one of troubled kids in school, whose friends are known drug addicts. She goes to a party and tries cocaine. And things don't end well.

There is no subplot.

The end sets up the next book Outcast with molly being treated like she has the plague.

Kill Your Darlings Yellow Game - Cause of Death
Buried Heart - Kate Elliott

I read Buried Heart by Kate Elliott to get the Run over by a Carriage card. The author's last name starts with an 'E' which is in the word 'horse'. This has already been identified as a cause of death in the Yellow game.

Rumors by Francine Pascal
Rumors - Kate William,Francine Pascal

Painful lies...
It's every girl's dream at Sweet Valley High to attend the fabulous Bridgewater Ball, and Susan Stewart has the chance to go with handsome, wealthy Gordon Stoddard. Nobody knows where Susan gets her money and style - or who her real parents are - but everyone agrees she's beautiful, friendly, and fun to be with.
Then jealous Lila Fowler starts spreading vicious rumors about Susan's mother - who she really is and why she abandoned Susan. No one wants to talk to Susan anymore, not even Gordon. To clear her name, Susan has to find out the truth about her parents. But is she better off not knowing? (from Goodreads)

Series: Book 37 in Sweet Valley High

The main plot of Rumors features the new character Susan Stewart. An air of mystery envelops the girl as fellow students speculate who she is and where she came from. Susan is dating fellow new character Gordon Stoddard, a rich kid amongst the likes of Lila Fowler and Bruce Patman. Lila, jealous of Susan having a date to the Bridgewater Ball, and someone rich at that, spreads a vicious rumour about who Susan's real mother is, causing everyone, including Gordon, to turn against her. Except for Elizabeth and Allen. At the end of the book, all is revealed positively and too-good-to-be-true in typical Sweet Valley fashion.

The subplot with the Wakefield twins in this book is about Jessica thinking her mother is pregnant and convincing Elizabeth and Steven to share in her beliefs. Hilarity and awkwardness in ensues, and all is revealed at the end of the book.

The set up on the last three pages of the book for the next book in the series (book 38, Leaving Home) features Regina Morrow as she gives Elizabeth Wakefield brochures to a boarding school in, wait for it... Switzerland. What will happen? What will Elizabeth decide? Tune in this Saturday for answers.
