Even The Score (Entangled Brazen) (Tall, Dark, and Texan) - Kate Meader

Tess and Hunter first met when he was about to marry her best friend.  Calling off the wedding, Tess was blamed since someone had to tell Hunter the bride left.  Now, when they see one another again there is more than surprise in store.

Hunter had no idea the woman he grabbed before she could fall was responsible for his years of misery.  He only knew she felt like she belonged there in his arms.  Since she is an actress, she is the perfect one to ask to be his fake fiance.

This is a great start to a very sexy series.  The banter is really good.  The pace of the story moves along nice and steady.  The sexy times are just burning the sheets hot.  This is a great read.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

quote 2018-11-08 10:13
“Staying level with Tess was going to require fast thinking, which was mighty difficult considering all the blood he needed for said thought processes was now hurtling south.

“What would this job involve?”

“Only one task. Make. Me. Believe.”

“That I’m your fiancé?”

Cue her smile, sly and sexy. First time she’d let him in on that action, too. “That you want me more than your next breath.”

If she moved forward a couple of inches, his boner would make her believe.”

Down With Love
Down With Love - Kate Meader

Down With Love is everything a good romantic comedy should be and then some! We have lovable characters, and engaging and witty story, and lots of reasons to smile, chuckle, and even laugh out loud. When you pair up a divorce lawyer and a wedding planner, sparks are bound to fly. In Max and Charlie's case, those sparks are not just of the fiery, you make me furious kind. They've both been burned by love in the past, and while those issues are addressed, that part isn't the focus here. We do get a bit of angst, but it's low key, keeping this romance lighthearted and sexy. To sum it up, this is a wonderfully written combo of sweet, sexy, and downright hilarious.

Down with Love (Laws of Attraction, #1) by Kate Meader
Down With Love - Kate Meader

The cynic and the optimist have declared war. Let the temptation begin. Charlie and Max are fighting a losing game. Whether fairy-tale fantasy trumps real life drama. Love is at stake and it's anybody's game. What happens when your enemy becomes your heart's desire? Kate Meader never loses her humorous side. Down with Love begins as a flight of fancy but transforms into a dance of love. A broken heart in need of a fresh perspective finds it's home in this fantastic fight to the finish.

Max's brother, James has a surprise for Max. He is getting married. Max was one engaged to a woman who only wanted his money. He also happened to be a divorce lawyer. As a result, he sees women 1 or 2 times and is ready to move on. Charlie is a wedding planner. Her last name (no pun intended) is Love. When Max and Charlie meet, there is instant lust.
I thought Max and Charlie worked well together, each realizing they had the other pegged incorrectly. I was fun reading about him falling in love. I do think, out of the both of them, Max was the more romantic. Max is definitely more of a cynic at the beginning. I thought Charlie was one too, even though she didn't admit it. It was interesting Max's take on how he helps his clients (mainly women) who are going through divorce. I thought his actions were noble. Both had obstacles they had to overcome as children.
Both Max and Charlie were relate-able and I could believe their story.
The other characters in this; Max and Charlie's parents (Susanne/Jack and Donna/Sully), Max's brother James (Gina), Max's law partners (Lucas/Grant), and Charlie's friends (Nathan/Penny) all added to the story. And only family/friends could get away with calling Max, Maxie.
Mentions Max is getting in shape to run a Marathon and he will be running on behalf of Mercy Homes- who this person is was never explained. It didn't matter to overall plot, I was curious is all.
