The Perfect Play By Jaci Burton $1,99
The Perfect Play - Jaci Burton

The last thing event planner Tara Lincoln needs is the jet-set lifestyle of a football pro like Mick Riley; even though their steamy and passionate one-night stand proved that Mick is an all-star-both on the field and in the bedroom.

Tara played the game of love once and lost big, and she doesn't intend to put herself out there again, especially with a certified heartbreaker. But when Mick sets his mind to win, nothing will stop him. And he has the perfect play in mind to catch this sultry vixen.

The Perfect Play - Jaci Burton

I've only read chapter 1! Not sure the tone of this book is going to be for me.

She sure was beautiful, but not in the way he was used to. She wasn’t overly made up, so her beauty was natural.

She’d been polite but hadn’t fallen all over him when he’d introduced himself. And oh man, had he liked that. A lot. Surprisingly, a lot. Especially when she’d walked away from him. Women tended to latch onto him like he was the Holy Grail, and once they did, they never let go. That, he didn’t like. But Tara actually seemed more interested in doing her job than in being with
him. It was damned refreshing.

She was slender, but not too much. She looked like she actually ate three meals a day, unlike a lot of the women he’d been forced to spend time with.

He’d bet she usually wore her hair down or in a ponytail or in one of those messy hair clip things. She didn’t seem the type of woman who messed with her hair so that it had to be perfect.

There was something about her that made him want to do more than just fuck her.

Spare me the "not like the others" woman sentiment.

The Perfect Play
The Perfect Play - Jaci Burton I appreciated the maturity of this sports romance. At times, I felt like it dragged, and there were times the teenaged son of the main character felt like he was 11 which was distracting. Overall, I enjoyed the read enough to continue with this author. (It was my first Jaci Burton).

Perfection
Going for the Goal (The Perfect Play Series Book 3) - Sara Rider

This is book # 3 in the Perfect Play series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For your enjoyment, and to better understand the series I recommend reading in order.

Jillian & Nick have quite the past.  Now, as he begs her to be his agent, she does not think it is wise to mix business with pleasure.  Her reputation and future are at risk.

Nick has waited almost a decade to be with his dream woman.  Now, her needs her for more than just the physical.  He needs her to save his career.

This was such a heartwarming and HOT book to read.  I found myself with laughter and tears.  I am hoping the series continues, since it is so good.  I give this book a 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

"For the Win" by Sara Rider
For the Win (The Perfect Play Series Book 1) - Sara Rider

I picked this up on sale. It's a little preachy with several feminist rants about the unfairness of the treatment and compensation of women's professional soccer players versus men's, but since I'm in the choir being preached to, that didn't bother me too much. I found this a quick and entertaining read, funny and well written, well worth the $1.99 I paid for it. I plan to read on in the series.
