Release Blitz - Shutdown Player

She wanted to give her body to him because he already had her heart.
Shutdown Player by Jami Davenport is AVAILABLE NOW!

After a brief marriage to an unfaithful, gold-digging wife, Jared Roderick is looking for the perfect good girl, and he thinks he’s found her. Sweet, quiet, prim Stephanie Clarke is exactly the woman he wants and nothing like his cheating ex. Now to convince a reluctant Steph they were meant to be together.

Steph has had enough of men controlling her life from her preacher father to her abusive boyfriend. She wants to regain the innocence she lost and ignore the ugliness of her recent past. She’s not the pure and sheltered virgin Jared is looking for and fends off his advances despite the sizzling chemistry between them. Jared is as determined to win Steph over as he is to win hockey games; but when his fantasy becomes tarnished, does he have the strength to skate the distance?

Shutdown Player: Seattle Sockeyes Hockey (Game On in Seattle Book 10)Shutdown Player: Seattle Sockeyes Hockey by Jami Davenport
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book #10, in the Game On In Seattle series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this great series in order.

Stephanie AKA "Steph" meets Jared while she is working. They meet again later, and the attraction spark starts to flame. If she can just keep her past behind her, maybe she can think of having a future.

Jared AKA "Hot Rod" is trying to recapture his life after a bitter divorce. Seeing Steph at every turn has him in knots. Will the past and the pain ruin what has begun for them?

This series just continues to please the senses. It has all kinds of hot, with both men and women who are strong - yet vulnerable. This story fits in well with the characters heating up every time they are in the room together. Lots of secrets, surprises, and plenty of humor mixed in, this is a great read.

Cool fire
Shot on Gold (A Play-by-Play Novel) - Jaci Burton

This is book #14, in the Play By Play series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment and complete understanding of this incredible series, I recommend reading it in order.

Will AKA "Mad Dog" meets up with Amber through a mutual friend.  They have a lot in common.  Sports, competitive drive, attraction, and more.  When the sparks between them start flying, it is hard to fight the instincts.

Amber has one goal - get that gold.  She has been sheltered, and does not fully understand what she is up against.  She only knows she wants to live.  Finally live!  Will brings that out in her more than most.

Such a sexy book with banter and heat right from the start.  Perfect addition to this already very hot, erotic series.  The characters make it exciting, and the story is very compelling.  I could hardly put it down.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Shutdown Player: Seattle Sockeyes Hockey (Game On in Seattle Book 10) by Jami Davenport
Shutdown Player: Seattle Sockeyes Hockey - Jami Davenport

Jami Davenport makes it hard to sit on the sidelines and not root her characters on. The blinders come off and the celebrity becomes human. Shutdown Player is the journey of two good people, who have suffered a bad break. A blow to the heart is not easy to bounce back from, especially when hateful words and violent episodes are part of the equation. Steph knows that first hand. As she rebuilds her life, she struggles to keep her heart intact. Jared is putting that resolve in danger. When it comes to love, will pride or trust win?

Deep Edge (Harrisburg Railers, #3) by R.J. Scott and V.L. Locey 4 Star Review!
Deep Edge - R. J. Scott,V.L. Locey

Trent Hanson is a figure skating phenom adored by millions around the world. His whole life has been dedicated to the sport he loves even when the sport - and his own family - have turned against him. From the playground to the Olympics to his parent’s living room, Trent has fought against bullies and homophobes to be the out and proud gay man he is. But the constant fighting has left Trent tired, lonely, and skittish. All those fears will have to be shelved though when he’s hired to spend the summer working with the Harrisburg Railers ice hockey team. Who would have guessed that the man fate has decided to pair him off with is Dieter Lehmann, all-around sex god and a man who seems to have everything to prove and doesn’t care who he hurts to get what he wants.

Dieter has spent too many years languishing in the minors, and a secret addiction to prescription painkillers means his career is in a downward spiral. His ex is blackmailing him, and he’s close to walking away from it all. But when he’s called up in the run for the Stanley Cup to cover injuries he has a taste of what it’s like playing in the NHL, and he realizes that a place on the Railers’ roster is what he wants more than anything. More than listening to his heart, and even more than caring for the infuriating figure skater who gets under his skin. When he crosses the line to get what he wants, he knows he has lost his way. He has to change, but is it too late for both his career and any chance he might have at love?

Review

Trent and Dieter, sigh, I love sports romance and this series just gets better and better.

Here we have two athletes, one from hockey and one from Olympics level figure skating. They both have been dedicated to their fields since they were childern.

Trent has lost all his money.... because...can't tell you. But as he provide supports for his mother, grandmother, and an LGBTQA youth center, things suck.

He meets Dieter when agrees to a reality show that will follow him cross training hockey players.

Dieter is a mess. He has a pain killer addiction going on and is in and out of denial. We get a realistic look at the think of an addict and an arc into recovery. In Trent's step father and mother, we get to see the chaos addiction (though of another kind) plays on a family.

This isn't an easy love story but Trent is amazingly well drawn and Dieter really because a wonderful partner during the course of the book.

The secondary characters and families are wonderful and we even get Filipino food through Trent's wonderful quirky grandmother.

Can't wait for Stan's book!
