Vivian, Midnight Call Girl (Iron Orchids) by: Danielle Norman
Vivian, Midnight Call Girl (Iron Orchids #6) - Danielle Norman

Vivian, Midnight Call Girl by Danielle Norman

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

For a little while she broke my heart, but along the way she restored my faith in love. Norman continues to march to the beat of her own emotions and empower people like me while doing so. Midnight Call Girl is more than a romance. Vivian and Aaron, take the long road to happiness, but it's a courageously uphill climb. Through the eyes of two broken people, we find strength, hope and words of wisdom. There's beauty within the tragedy.

Interesting story, kept me reading.
Midnight Girl - Nora LeDuc

This story held me from the beginning. Lisa wanted to protect Travis, and Travis wanted to protect Lisa, but neither truly relied on each other in the beginning. Doubts about their past relationship stood between them. The journey to the end was fraught with ups and downs, and was worth the read.

I received an ARC through Goddess Fish Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.

Audio Book Review: Midnight Star (Vampire Girl #2) By Kinrade Karpov
Midnight Star (Vampire Girl) (Volume 2) - Karpov Kinrade

It's been two months since I finished the first book in this series and I consider that a good thing. I wasn't a really big fan of Ari and Fen in the first novel and I think that changed somewhat.

I started to enjoy Ari as a character because she was way more of a handful this time around. She was actually questioning what the heck was going on and made a point of trying to escape captivity even if it brought more harm to her.

Fen wasn't a big part of this novel, the only exception was the ending (which I loved). I don't know what I was expecting from him, but maybe distance really does make the heart grow fonder. He was much better in handling his affection for Arianna and I appreciated that.

I despise Asher. He's playing both sides and still expects Fen to trust him even though he and *mystery spoiler character's name here* made Arianna sign yet another deal in blood? I understand why he did it, but that doesn't mean I like it or that I'm on his side. The only redeeming event was his fae friend (which I can't elaborate on because spoilers).

As I've mentioned above, I loved that ending. I wasn't expecting anything remotely close to what happened and it has me invested in this series. I want to know what happens next.

The Audio Book:

Last time around I had a problem with Joel Froomkin because I couldn't stand a man narrating a book to me. I've gotten better at managing that problem. I can now stand and appreciate a man narrated audio book, but I'm still not IN LOVE with it.

The Girl at Midnight Book Review
The Girl at Midnight - Melissa Grey

I am re-reading a lot of series so I remember them better for the new books that have come out this year. I have to say I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as the first time around. I think the characters are a bit bland and it really isn't anything new, and I have to compare it to books like Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Throne of Glass and Red Queen which I enjoyed so much more.

Echo is a thief who pickpockets people in New York City for her band of friends. Little does she know there is much more to her and the legend of the firebird then she thinks, especially when Cauis and Rowan show up.

I thought Echo was a bit of a boring character. She didn't interest me much even with the romance added in. I am looking forward to seeing where the next one goes. A good fantasy for someone looking for that extra series to read.

My NetGalley Review of The Girl At Midnight. Really good book.
The Girl at Midnight - Melissa Grey

I really enjoyed this book it started out pretty slow but once it got interesting it stayed that way. I have to say while I liked the main characters of Echo and Cauis, but my favorites are Jasper, Dorian, and Ivy. I gave the book 4 1/2 stars instead of 5 due to the fact it took a bit of time for me to get into the book. I couldn't give it below that rating because once the book caught my attention and wasn't slow paced I couldn't put the book down.

I thought parts of the book was funny due to how much Jasper loved to tease Dorian, those two together were so awesome and so priceless. And I loved how much Ivy got into watching Jasper mess with Dorian. And that she helped Dorian even after what he did to her.

I loved who or what the firebird was even though I had an idea before the reveal and I was right. Cauis's sister Tanith was such a bitch, but she was right in regards that Cauis as he is right now is not a great leader. I don't want him to be awful like his sister but he needs to be tougher than what he is, his just to darn nice.

I really can't wait to read book 2 coming out in a couple of weeks, and already preorder it. I want to see what happens now that the firebird is revealed. I can't wait to see more scenes between Dorian and Jasper. As well as to see what happens with Caius, Echo, and Ivy.

I am so happy that I got this book by the way of netgalley. And all for just agreeing to read this book and giving my honest opinion on how I felt about the book.
