What a grand finale to the fascinating and emotionally gripping fairy tale of a romance. The wonderfully strong, captivating characters pull readers into their story and hold them hostage until the very end. The romance is dark and somewhat sweet, but it is most unlike any other romance and full of surprising twist among all the scorching hot and passionate intimate scenes which leaves readers breathless. The love between Queen Mab and Tabby is a force to be reckoned with and readers can’t help but feel the intensity as they read all about it throughout the quadrilogy but in this final book, the duo is finally reaching for their happily ever after which is sweet but extra hot as Rowan and Ciara joins in to make a foursome proves that love is so much more. The plot is fast paced and keeps readers glued to the pages with all the hotness and emotionally gripping depth that readers have come to expect in this book series, while giving readers the inside track on a dark Queen’s ruling of her kingdom as she reaches for her HEA. In addition, this conclusion has an epic epilogue that gives readers a glimpse into the future which readers will especially like.

The fascinating relationship between Mab and Tabby keeps emotions running high and readers can’t help but keep turning the pages to discover what will happen next, especially as Rowen’s slave status draws closer to its conclusion. This means that that Tabby, Mab and Rowen will have to make life altering decisions sooner rather than later which adds to the anticipation building suspense of the story. Please note that this series is in no way intended for anyone faint of heart! There was no way I could put the Consort down until I had read every last page and I can’t wait to read Queen, the fourth and final book in this series.

Even the Dark Queen can’t change destiny.

Tabitha has so much to learn about living with a family, and she makes her grandfather and cousins terribly uncomfortable when she doesn’t fit in. She was punished for looking free people in the eyes all her life, so it’s understandable she has trouble learning to maintain eye contact. And making decisions is impossible — from what she wants for breakfast, to when she’s tired enough for bed, and everything in between.

It would be hard for any person to imagine such a life but the author’s detail-orientated descriptions, she brings it such vivid life and ensures that readers can relate to the characters and really become caught up in all the emotional turmoil that they face in their various situations and of course readers can’t practically feel the burn as the intense passion and electrical chemistry flow the pages of the romance between Tabitha and the Dark Queen. Of course, the Dark Queen’s court is full of hot and erotic scenes, so readers get such a dark and sensual thrill from the story as well. With each change in Tabitha’s life and each decision made, readers get caught up in the anticipation of the story and they have to keep turning the pages.

The steady paced and smooth flowing plot builds anticipation while it heats up the pages and singes readers with its intense and emotional air. The author does a great job of describing the story and characters that readers can practically feel the intensity of this story. The story is so full of suspense and Little One is so enthralling that readers really want to continue her story and find out what happens next.

The story is the first part of a four book serial that must be read in order to get the full enjoyment of the series. Beware that the story is full of erotic scenes some of which may be too much for sensitive readers.
