a really fitting end!
Haka Ever After (The Sin Bin #7) - Dahlia Donovan
There comes along, once in a rare while, a book that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzie inside. A book that is far too stinking cute for its own good. A book that wraps up an ENTIRE series in so few pages. A book that is simply, brilliant. This is book 7 in the Sin Bin series, and if you are just coming across this book, you should at the very LEAST read book two, The Caretaker, which is where Freddie and Taine meet. You should read them all, though! Taine plucks up the courage to ask Freddie to marry him, but first he asks for Freddie's fathers permission. Since their first meeting wasn't exactly a tea party, Taine has reservations they won't chop him up and hide the pieces! But the fathers surprise him, and then Taine has to actually propose. The proposal delivers, for me, the best line of the book! Freddie asks, "why marriage?" Taine replies, "When they write our story after we're gone, it should read that I loved you more than anything else in the world. More than rugby. More than you love cheese. I want our names connected - intertwined. Legally. So no knobdobbers can claim I wasn't dedicated to you. So, will you marry me?" The wedding plans are amusing, with all the previous characters taking part. So you can imagine what they all get up to! There is, of course, some messing about with food, cos ya'll know Ms Donovan's boys like to play with their food! Bit that made me cry?? When all of Taine's rugby team mates perform the Haka at the wedding. That bit made me cry more that what happened on the honeymoon! It's always sad to see a series end, but what a way to go! 5 stars **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

I'm not liking Luke and Ash!
Sweet Possession (Nights Series #5) - A.M. Salinger
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. This is book 5 in the Nights series, and you should AT LEAST read book 4, Sweet Obsession before this one, this is a continuation of Ash and Luke's story. I LOVED books one through three, but four and now five, have been a bit of a let down. Maybe I just don't like Luke and Ash, you know?? This has a little bit of a story, thrown in with some hot and steamy stuff, and a lot of Luke being a total twat of an idiot thinking about what he thinks Ash needs. And rather than talking to Ash, he runs. Much like Cam did when Gabe says those three little words. I loved that Ash could make the famous Luke Rutherford lose his cool and totally let himself go and take from, and indeed GIVE to, Ash, what they both really need. Loved that we get an appearance from Gabe and Cam, and Ethan and Joe. I dunno WHY these two books didn't quite work for me, I really don't and you KNOW how much it pains me not being able to word the feelings! BUT!! In book 3, I saw something going on between the two guys who own the company Gabe works for. THEIR story is next, and I cannot wait to read it! So, I'm sorry, but... 3 stars (but please keep these coming!) **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

kinda creeps up on ya!
Edge Jump - Elizabeth Noble
Independent reviewer for Divine Magazine, I was gifted my copy of this book direct from the author, that I write a review was not required. Brett retired from professional ice hokey and now runs the centre his parents set up, to teach. His sister, Celia and her partner, Rylan, has moved onto ice dancing. But a senseless crime takes Celia away from both Brett and Rylan, and brings them both together at their darkest time. Then Rylan is hit with a far worse tragedy. Can they get through this, together? You know, sometimes, you read a blurb, and your brain plots away, and that's what you expect from the book?? Then the book actually goes off in a way you did not see coming?? And you loved it for it?? This book, right here! I have NO idea what I thought would happen here, but I was very surprised with it! It really did kinda-creep-up-on-me!! Brett and Rylan have chemistry, right from the start. But Brett keeps himself back a bit, and it pulls at you, the way Rylan reacts to that. There is a lot of pulling on the heart strings here! I loved the way Brett gradually introduced Rylan to BDSM, and that Rylan took to it, like a duck to water. I didn't think it overly explicit though and I LIKED that here, but that might just be me! I did not get how Celia and her fiance's deaths would play out. Did NOT see that one coming at me, not at all! Rylan's recovery from what happened is long and painful, but you feel it **taps chest* right here. Every time his brain threw self doubt at him. Every time Brett pulled him out of it, and you cheer, when he finally is able to get back on the ice. And when Rylan listens to Brett when he says "I'm not going anywhere!" I've read a couple of other books by Ms Noble, and I do like how she can switch from paranormal, to contemporary, to more sexy books. High skill of an author, I think! It crept up on, this book, it really did! 4.5 stars **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

i need more of this author!
Hers, Unbroken (Hers #2) - Anna Adler
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. As head of the pet training centre, Holly knows exactly what that training involves. Chase deliberately gets himself caught to be taken to the training centre, because that is what he really wants! To be a sex slave. Holly though, wants to set him and all the other pets free. But Holly only has Chase for 48 hours before they come for him. Can they work together to get what they BOTH want?? This is book 2 in the Her series but you don't NEED to have read book one, Hers Untamed, for this one to make sense. However, personally, I think you SHOULD read it before this one. It will give you a better picture of the people of Silenia, and just what having a pet means to them. It will also give you a better picture of just how different Holly is from the rest of her people. Also, I said in my review for that book, I wanted Jax, the 'pet', to have a say, because he didn't. Chase DOES have a say here, and it does creep my star rating up a fraction but I still can't stretch to the full 5 stars. And I think that's mostly because the rebellion happens almost overnight! One day, they all want to keep their pets under lock and key, and the next, everyone is free!! Felt really kinda rushed to me. It's still a really great read, and I loved that Chase refuses to perform for anyone but Holly. Loved that she couldn't quite get her head round the fact he wanted to be a sex slave. And I did read it in one sitting! Are there more planned?? I hope so. Even with the rushed rebellion, I think these people have more to say. 4.5 stars, rounded up for the blog. **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

4 shiny stars
The Dragon's Thief - Riza Curtis
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. A magpie is hired to steal from a dragon's hoard. What could possibly go wrong?? Short! So very VERY short! That's my overwhelming thought on finishing this book, I wish it were longer. It's told mostly from Chester, the magpie's point of view, but Michal, the dragon who hires Chester, gets some say, just not enough for my liking! It's not overly complicated, nor is it explicit nor violent. It's well told, and well delivered. Some more could have been made of the feud between Michal and his brother James. It was just too bloody short! BUT!!! I DID enjoy it, spending an hour sitting out in the sun on my day off. It's the first I've read of this author, but now she is firmly on my radar, my wish list is a little longer and hopefully I'll be able to read more soon. Because I LIKED the way she tells her tales, and I LIKED that we get a magpie shifter, because I have never read a magpie shifter! And ya'll know I love them different! So, because I found it too short ( I did NOT know it was a short going in!) and because I wanted more Michal... 4 shiny stars (because magpies love shiny things!) **same worded review will appear elsewhere**
