We Met in Dreams
We Met in Dreams - Rowan McAllister

“Yesterday in the park, I was feeling quite sorry for myself. I sat on that bench for a long time, trying to dredge up the strength to return to my empty apartments. Then an angel dropped in my lap, invited me to tea, and kissed me, and ever since I’ve been struggling to believe my luck. I feel as if I’m in a dream, and at any moment, I’ll wake broken and alone again.”

This book is the perfect blend of paranormal, mystery, historical fiction and romance.  Just an absolutely beautiful story that kept me on the edge of my seat; kept me continuously wondering who to trust, what to believe and how this would end.  And none of it was as I suspected which made the journey that much better.

I adored both these beautiful men and how they each became the angel the other needed to see through their darkness and see light and happiness awaiting them with each other.

And the visual descriptions of this manor, the period dress and the glimpses into London were perfectly captured for me. I was left mezmerized.

Thanks Marco for the recommendation...truly one to follow.

Too Beautiful to Break (Romancing the Clarksons) by Tessa Bailey
Too Beautiful to Break (Romancing the Clarksons) - Tessa Bailey

Reading Too Beautiful to Break, is like standing in the eye of a hurricane.  The storm clouds alert to danger, but the thrill of the unknown outweighs the fear of what's to come. Belmont and Sage are a cocktail of danger from their co - dependent relationship, to their individual demons.  Underneath the calm lies precarious revelations that could prove lethal to a friendship that goes beyond the boundaries of the norm.  At times I felt like a voyeur as I traversed the carnage of this disturbingly complicated duet of hearts, but once you step into the maze there's no turning back.  Your heart won't allow you to walk away.

A Messy, Beautiful Life!!!
A Messy, Beautiful Life - Sara Jade Alan

First things first: I received this book through NetGalley.

The book comes out october 2nd!!!

Look at me, reviewing an ARC before it's getting published. I think I'm starting to get my crap together. WHOOT!!! I wanna say right at the beginning, that I highly recommend this book to everyone, except if you want to stay away from cancer stories (something I totally understand).

Summary: Life is funny sometimes.

And not always the ha, ha kind. Like that one time where a hot guy tried to kiss me and I fell. Down. Hard. And then found out I had cancer.

I’m trying to be strong for my friends and my mom.

And I’m trying so hard to be “just friends” with that hot guy, even though he seems to want so much more. But I won’t do that to him. He’s been through this before with his family, and I’m not going to let him watch me die.

So, I tell myself: Smile Ellie. Be funny Ellie. Don’t cry Ellie, because once I start, I might not stop.

THIS BOOK. The cover is gorgeous, even though it took me way too long, to figure out there is a bone between all the flowers. Something that makes total sense. Also the titel is perfect for the book. PERFECT!!!

I kinda wanna dump all my feels for the book all at once in this review. But let's have some order. Maybe. Hopefully.

The writing is amazing. Seriously. I have some problems with books at the moment and taking forever to really get into them. But this one. The author had me right from the beginning. The writing was just so beautiful.

I also loved the characters right from the start.
Ellie is the perfect main character. Seriously. She is funny, she is loving, caring, she is freaking strong. That girl stole my heart.
And Jason, what a great guy. DANG. I really loved him the moment he showed up and could totally understand why Ellie was falling for him super fast. These two were the greatest, through all the mess, they were beautiful.
I also loved all the side characters. Craig, Ellie's stepbrother. He was amazing, seriously. In the beginning I wasn't sure cause Ellie descriped him as the most annoying person and then he showed up, and I just loved him. And he cared so much about her and ahhhh, he is great.
And Ellie's mom, I LOVED her. Moms are the greatest. I wasn't sure about Ellie's father in the beginning. I was super unimpressed by him not being there. Thankfully that turned around and he got much more involved.
I also loved Ellie's friends, Hana and Quinn. THEIR FRIENDSHIP.
The greatest thing about all these characters and their relationship was, that this group felt like a huge family that went through all the ups and downs in life together and that was just so damn beautiful.

This book has the perfect mixture of lighthearted, fun moments and moments that will shatter your heart. But it's beautiful and gives you all the feels. And ugh, I truly love this whole story, the characters, just everything. I will stop now before I slip even more into fangirl mode and no one will understand a word I'm saying. So bye. Read this book!!!

Not your every day romance
A Beautiful Heartbreak (the NYC Series Book 1) - Alora Kate,Alora Kate,Silvia Curry

A Beautiful Heartbreak is not your typical hearts and flowers romance, which was a pleasant surprise for me. The story is well-written and the flow is good. But, the thing that set this one apart is the characters. They are all so interesting - love them or hate them, they're interesting. Most of the story is told from Ki's point of view and I absolutely love her with her quirks and what you see is what you get attitude. We do get some chapters from Prescot's view and I don't want to give too much away, but those chapters are so important to the character development. His flashbacks certainly stir the emotions and pull at your heartstrings. The attraction between this pair is unmistakable, even when they won't admit it and the situations that they find themselves in are, at times, quite funny. While there are questions and some intense situations, I wouldn't necessarily say that it's suspenseful. Things were resolved and questions were answered a bit too quickly for any real build in the suspense level, but that didn't really take away from my enjoyment of the read. Overall, I would say that Alora Kate has given us an outside the box romance with some action, truly great characters, at times laugh out loud dialogue and situations, and a relatively low angst level. I'll be looking forward to whatever is next for this odd mix of people. Oh, and I have to add - Lucas, I seriously want more Lucas!
