December wrap-up + currently reading

I seriously cannot believe I forgot to do a December wrap-up, so here it is!

- Digital Fortress by Dan Brown 5/5 review

- Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy #5) by Richelle Mead 4/5

- Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy #6) by Richelle Mead 4/5 review

- The Archived by (The Archived #1) Victoria Schwab 5/5 review

- The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides 1/5 review

- Strings by Kat Green 4.75/5 review

If you want to check out my review of the books, just click on review. I read the Vampire Academy series on my ereader so that's why you don't see that series in the picture.

At the moment I'm reading Origin (Lux #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout, also on my ereader (am I the only one who read books on the ereader if the covers are ugly and you think like yea I'm not going to re-read them and the covers are ugly, so ereader it is! haha) and re-reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. I read it last year and I loved it and we have to choose four classics for school, so now I'm re-reading and analysing it for that. :)

What books have you read in December?

Review: Digital Fortress by Dan Brown
Digital Fortress - Dan Brown

Summary:

When the NSA’s most classified technological wonder–an invincible code-breaking machine–encounters a mysterious code it cannot break, the agency calls in its head cryptographer, Susan Fletcher, a brilliant and beautiful mathematician. What she uncovers sends shock waves through the corridors of power.

The NSA is being held hostage… not by guns or bombs, but by a code so ingeniously complex that if released it will cripple U.S. intelligence.

Caught in an accelerating tempest of secrecy and lies, Susan Fletcher battles to save the agency she believes in. Betrayed on all sides she finds herself fighting not only for her country, but for her life, and in the end, for the life of the man she loves.

With a startling twist that leaves the agency scrambling to avert the biggest intelligence disaster in U.S. history, Digital Fortress never lets up. From the underground hallways of power, to the skyscrapers of Tokyo, to the towering cathedrals of Spain, a desperate race unfolds.

It is a battle for survival — a crucial bid to destroy a creation of inconceivable genius… an impregnable code-writing formula that threatens to obliterate the balance of power. Forever.

My opinion:

I loveeeeeeed this book! I loved everything about it. It was so captivating (duh it's a thriller). If you havent read this book read, you should read it because:

♥ The main male character loves different languages and knows loads (in the book some of the lines are in Spanish, German, French or Italian and the translation is right after that sentence).

♥ The main female character Susan is a cryptographer (and is the only woman who works there.. hello feminism!)

♥ It isn't about romance so there aren't teenage drama or ''love'' scenes.

♥ The whole story takes place in one weekend.

♥ It takes place when the internet just came a long (and e-mail as well)

♥ The writing style is really easy to follow, even if your native language isn't English. The book has no confusing parts.

♥ There weren't any boring parts.

♥ The plot and ending was really amazing!

Just read if you haven't already. I haven't read any other book by Dan Brown, but I wanted to try the first one he has published so I'm going to read the rest in chronological order.

Have you read Digital Fortress?

Bookhaul #6

I bought some books! I got one in the mail I think about two weeks ago and I bought the rest yesterday at a local ''bookoutlet'' thing. It isn't exactly bookoutlet, but I got new books for around $2,50!

1. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Nawthorne link

2. Great Expectations by Charles Dickens link

3. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë link

4. Digital Fortress by Dan Brown link

5. Angels and Demons by Dan Brown link

6. Deception Point by Dan Brown link

7. The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown link

The Scarlet Letter is in the beautiful Barnes and Noble leatherbound edition. If you'd like to see pictures inside please let me know! That one was around $11. The rest I bought at the bookoutlet. It's sad they didn't have the other classics like they always have, or Emma or Jane Eyre in that edition but there's also a bookoutlet in February so I'm hoping they have them then! In my last bookhaul (link) you saw I already own a copy of Wuthering Heights, but I got rid of that one. My friend wanted to have a copy so she bought it from me!

I've never read any book by Dan Brown (yes I've seen the movie of The Da Vinci Code, don't worry haha!) and I didn't own any of them so it was about time! I absolutely love these covers.

I'm not going to buy any more books because my birthday is in December and then there is Christmas as well. If you'd like to send me a book, please send an email to itsabooksworld.booklikes@gmail.com because I'm not going to show my wishlist/address in public.

What books have you recently bought?
