Round-Up for March and April 2018

I cannot believe we are actually going into May already, the time is just flying by.

Sadly I was super busy, sick  or had some dental work done and really didn't get a lot books read in the last couple months, hence the double round-up this month. But some book I actually just combined or a all in one addition came out for review. So the actually books read or reviewed I shoulds say is not as much. I have  few more but I still have to write up some reviews so it will have to wait.

I'm actually thinking about putting up a new blog since while it is also refreshing to to have one, I also miss it. But if I do I will not put so much stress on myself and just post whatever and whenever , just for fun.

But we shall see lol.

I should however post a book haul it has been forever and it its getting out of control but I think I wait toll after may since there are a few books coming out yet that I really want to get and add .

I hope everyone is having a great time and enjoying the nice weather and everyone is reading some great books.

Here are my books for March/April 2018

To get to the reviews of the books, just click the covers ;)

Shocking the Medic
Shocking the Medic - Elizabeth Otto

0.5 if I could give it a 0 I would Rating is not for the book but for the author. I won this book way back in September and still have not received it. And really its not about the book it is that I contacted her multiple times and each time I have been ignored. I know life can get busy and we forget stuff but she saw my messages and just ignored them. She had plenty of time to promote other things but never a minute to respond and even just let me know she will not send the promised book. So now that it has been forever and she is still ignoring me, I decided to no longer support her or her books. I figured is she can't spare a minute to respond about a giveaway SHE made I have no longer have the time or money to spend on her books. Ans yes I read, bought and reviewed book by her before .

Hot with issues
The Mistress Experiment (Mistress series #1) - Elizabeth Otto

Okeeey, that was sizzling. Hot power plays from the tame side and an alpha done right, so mostly good sexy points. And I liked the inner struggle about control and the need for it, and how it was treated.

I do have a couple of issues:

It needs editing: misspellings and wrong wording.

One instance of misuse of the word feminism that can be hand-waived but bothered me.

Then of course, the more or less stupid background detail: Alcoholism doesn't stop like that. But well...

And what's up with people's bad English??? Let me tell you, you spend a couple of months working and living with people speaking another language, you learn your basic grammar fast. And come on! Latin food?? Like the whole bit from Texas down is one big heterogeneous group? She's Puerto Rican, what's Mexican have to do with her sense of childhood, or homeliness???

That fucking ending:

so much girding and determination gathering, and the gal drops uni to say yes. Fuck no! Your contract ends in six month! You propose to go with HER, not the other way around.

(spoiler show)

Wow... I really got into it. I still had fun, and I'll read more by the author at some point.

June 2015 Reads

June 2015 Reads copy

Hello,

I finally got around for the June round-up. I read more books but like I said before I lost it all when the hard-drive on my computer gave out . Here are the one that I already had a review for. The rest I just rated and you can find in my Goodreads and Booklikes shelves.

For July I just plan on catching up on review books, but also Jennifer L. Armentrout's Every Last Breath the third and final book in The Dark Elements series.

Acutally the next few months I have a few books I been looking forward to.

July, like I said Every Last Breath  by JLA.

August: Magic Shifts, the 8th book in the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews

September: The Drafter the first book in Kim Harrison's new The Peri Reed series.

October: The Immortal's Redemption by Kelli Ireland

Of course there are many more but those are the main ones I can think of right now, I also plan on picking up The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey soon, since the book everywhere and hear good things about it.

Now to my June reads, as always you can find the buy links in the review that I will link.

I hope you all enjoying your summer and the warm weather :)

Happy Reading :)

Scorched by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Scorched

Synopsis:

Most days, Andrea doesn’t know whether she wants to kiss Tanner or punch him in the gut. He is seriously hot, with legit bedroom eyes and that firefighter body of his, but he’s a major player, and they can’t get along for more than a handful of minutes. Until now.

Tanner knows he and Andrea have had an epic love/hate relationship for as long as he can remember, but he wants more love than hate from her. He wants her. Now. Tomorrow. But the more he gets to know her, the more it becomes obvious that Andrea has a problem. She’s teetering on the edge and every time he tries to catch her, she slips through his fingers.

Andrea’s life is spiraling out of control, and it doesn’t matter that Tanner wants to save her, because when everything falls apart and she’s speeding toward rock bottom, only she can save herself.

Sometimes life makes you work for that happily ever after…

Can’t Resist a Cowboy (Paint River Ranch #3) by Elizabeth Otto
Can't Resist a Cowboy - Elizabeth Otto

He’s always been her weakness…

Injured and discharged, Marine Levi Haywood has returned to his family’s ranch to heal and start a new life. After all, once a cowboy, always a cowboy. The only problem? But some things never change, forcing Carrie to choose the future laid out before her…or the cowboy she could never resist.

My thoughts:

Having read the previous two books of the Paint River Ranch series and some other books by Elizabeth Otto I was looking forward to this book.

I can’t say that I was disappointed, I really enjoyed this book. The story and its characters.

In this third book we finally get to meet and to get to know better Levi. Like his brothers he is very charming and a cowboy through and through, on top of that he is a Marine. What more can we ask for?

He is stubborn and meets his match with Carrie. He also is still dealing with his war injuries, mentally and physical. But that won’t stop him to help out on the ranch and take on another major project to safe Carrie’s family ranch.
