Christmas present

This is what I got for Christmas this year! For the first time in ages I've been able to focus enough to read a few books. It's wonderful. :) Reviews will follow.

Desires of Christmas Present (A Christmas Carol Book 2) - Lexi Post

This was an interesting read. Two spirit guides are assigned to help the boss' wife move on with her life. Coco and Ian don't click at first but as they move through the assignment, they learn more about each other and then sparks fly. I could not stop turning the pages so read this in one sitting. There were moments of happiness, moments of tears, and a sense that all would be fine. There is a Christmas Past story, which I will read, and there will be a Christmas Future story, which I will anticipate.

I am reviewing this story on my own accord.

Christmas Present
Christmas Present: A Chronicles of St. Mary's Short Story - Jodi Taylor,Zara Ramm,Audible Studios

While I've enjoyed all short stories up to this one, they were nice additions but in order to follow the story of the main series, they weren't necessary. Now however, with Christmas Present (another Christmas short story) I would say this is the case, as the events from this short story have certain important consequences in the next books.

I did wonder when I was reading why they didn't do this earlier, but this in no way spoiled the fun. Everything is nicely St Mary's as always.

A Present for Christmas by Shiloh Walker
A Present for Christmas - Shiloh Walker

These two really cracked me up. They are such opposites, and you can see the opposites attract coming from a mile away, but it was done quite well. Again, the characters were all a little too extreme, but there were immediate consequences from Society which made the situations a little more believable.

Lillith is an artist, and she's proud of it. She supports other artists and writes a popular serial under a pen name. This is very important, I loved how this serial played a part in the story. At first I thought it was just another aspect to Lillith's character, but it's the way it all plays out that made it almost another character itself. Lillith is not your traditional lady by any means. She's quirky and honest, she's bursting with energy and sweeps everyone up along with her.

George is quite the opposite. He's calm and respectful, making sure his duty comes before anything and everything else - including his own happiness. But Lillith breathes life back into him and his family when Society insists she joins in at a highly-attended house party.

This house party is also another character unto itself. It's the perfect backdrop for the antics and adventures that Lillith and George find themselves caught up in. There was a good dose of humor and some very memorable moments - but then we got a little out of control. From the tail end of the house party through the very end of the book, things went too far for my taste. It was no longer a light humor, but something more forced and not as much fun.

Once the ending hits, it made up for the previous craziness a little. The way it all seems to wrap back up around itself and put the right finishing touches to the story were great.

*This book was received in exchange for an honest review*

My Christmas Present
My Christmas Present - Toni Griffin 2.5 stars

I finally came to review this little Christmas story...

It was ordinary but nice.

I liked the idea of Lukas pinning for his father's best friend and that was what drove me to this story in the first place.

But it made me extremly uncomfortable that it was discribed as if Mitchell saw Lukas practically grow up. Like he probably had change more than one of Lukas's diapers.

I don't mind the age-gape! It's just this almost-second-father falling in love with the almost-son.

I enjoy a little taboo PWP every once in a while! But I don't need those feelings in my romances.
