The bears of High House Urse may still be struggling against traitors within their house but they sure know to entertain readers. The is never a dull moment to be found during the fourth book of the series as one bear struggles to keep a young woman alive when all of his fellow bears are screaming “off with her head!” Kasperi and Amber are two strong, vivid characters that easily pull readers into their story and make them feel as if they are part of all the excitement taking place including the sizzling chemistry that burns between them. This romance is on rocky ground from the very beginning as Amber struggles to accept all the things that are being thrown at her which has lots of emotional turmoil flowing from the pages and adding depth to the story.

The story starts off with a bang as Amber goes up against a dirt bag in a surprising way and Kasperi and his team was sent to eliminate a rogue mage and only Kasperi is willing to take a stand against her immediate execution when they find a confused young woman on the verge of freezing to death. This fast paced story continues to keep readers on the edge of their seat with lots of suspense and excitement as Kasperi finds himself up against everyone in House Ursa, having to train Amber to control her magic while struggling with the possibility of having magic himself and an unknown enemy that has recognized the true potential of both. The story is full of never ending excitement, surprising twists and super-hot passion that readers can get lost in.

This romance also has major trust issue on both sides to overcome so the mating is one fiery and passionate ball of energy that readers can’t stop reading.

The plot is fast paced and so full of suspense building events and thrilling excitement that readers certainly never have a chance to become bored. This story has some spectacular fighting and magical battles that also add to the enjoyment and verve of the story which along with the antagonism between the bears and the wolves really keeps the character and the readers on their toes and keeps the adrenaline pumping throughout the twists, secrets and missions of this action filled story.

The relationship is burns hot but this couple’s relationship has a major obstacle standing its way – the evidence points to Kincaid being guilty and of course Kincaid’s big secret.

This story proceeds from one exciting event to the next with a fast and energetic pace that keeps readers on their toes and holding on the edge of their seat with lots of adrenaline pumping suspense as the bad guys take exception to Kincaid and Haley trying to uncover just who is responsible. The ‘who done it’ suspense of this story is sensational as this couple face many surprises and twists along the way which keeps readers guessing right along with them. I completely enjoyed my time with Kincaid and Haley as they broke some rules, engaged in combat and a spirited romance.
