10 Characters in the Mercy Thompson Series You Must Meet
Silence Fallen - Patricia Briggs

So this is a round-up I did for B&N SciFi, which is a little listicle-y because it's number 10 in a series and nobody much cares about, like, an actual review at that point. Either you'll read it because you're on the hook, or you won't.

But coming up with the list kinda reminded me how kinda terrible the Mercy Thompson series is about relationships between female characters. I think there's a big step forward in Silence Broken -- Mercy has real conversations with Honey, that Russian witch lady, and Marselia -- but that doesn't precisely make up for the previous 9 novels. It ends up being one of those bummers where I pretty much like everything about a series but a huge fucking gaping hole where normal human interaction should exist between people of the same gender, but alas, it doesn't. Or it does a little not, but.

Oh, but as per the actual plot: I thought this one unstuck some stuff that had been, um, stuck, in the few previous. Mercy ends up kidnapped into Europe, so we get a whole new political and literal landscape to deal with. I though it shook up some things that needed shaking up in the Mercyverse.

Blood Bound - Patricia Briggs

I liked some of the developments in this one; I think Briggs does a decent job of conveying the creepy inhumanness of the vampires, which I imagine could easily fall flat.

Moon Called
Moon Called - Patricia Briggs

Urban fantasy hasn’t really clicked with me in the past, but I really enjoyed the first book in the Mercy Thompson series. I have a couple of niggling questions about a couple of portrayals, but in general, I really liked the story and the characters.

January 2015 Reads

Here we go again. :) Another month of reading done and I got more books in than I thought I would :)It was a good month for books :) Burned by KMM was finally released after about two years of waiting. I also started the Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews and I'm so glad I did. This series is just awesome and is now one of my favorite series out there.

For February, I'm plan on finishing the Kate Daniels Books that are released until the next one. Also JLA has a new series starting this month so I will be reading The Return. Can't wait to get back into the Covenant world or rather the Titans this time around I suppose.

Richelle Mead also has the final book in the Bloodlines series coming out which is The Ruby Circle, so I plan on reading that as well.

After that I will dig into some review copies.I don't know what comes after that but I'm sure I will find something in my TBR Pile ;)

Okay now to the round-up , as always you can find the buy links in the reviews that are linked here.

Thank you and happy reading :)

October 2014 Reads

Here we go again, I can't believe how fast the months go by. I wish I could have got done more for October but yet it again it was a busy month. It seems to be a trend the last couple months me only getting 10 books done. But I'm happy with that. I don't think that will increase till the new year either. But at least I got a majority of the Mercy Thompson books done which I had planned. Since November wont be any better time wise, I have no real plan on what to read. I just get some books on my TBR pile done.

Here is my list of the Octobber reads , as always I included the buy links in the reviews I linked.

Happy reading and Happy Halloween :)
