The Human Ate My Pumpkin!
The Human Ate My Pumpkin! - Jon Mac

by Jon Mac

This was a cute little story with an alternate view of reality. The protagonist is a zombie who goes to work and laments the invasion of the living into his world. When Halloween comes around, he decides to go as a live person which manages to upset everyone on all sides.

All things considered it was basically enjoyable, but blissfully short. The author says he writes Pulp Fantasy and I would be prepared to try a free selection, but his only other book isn't free in UK.

Book Review: Pumpkin And spice abby knox
Pumpkin and spice - abby knox

November 5-6
Maxine “Pumpkin” Novak is coming home to Chicago to do three things: eat turkey with her family; chill with her best friend, Joy; and avoid all the awful people who gave her that childhood nickname. But a run-in with a dreamy old classmate sidetracks her plans in a heartbeat, and gets her heart pounding.

Bartender Talbot “Stoner” Spice has out-performed his high school epithet and whooped his childhood demons. Dividing all his time between running the neighborhood bar and caring for his widowed mother, he has never seen the need for a serious relationship. That all changes when his high school crush, Max, returns from California and walks into his bar two days before Thanksgiving. She doesn’t know it yet, but she’s not getting away from him again.

Review : this short and cute book was sexy and sweet. Max leaves her hometown after graduating hoping to never see anyone again . Talbot aka stoner has been through a lot hes loved max forever and when she comes back into town he gets his chance to be with her . And they are adorable together. Another advertising company wants to buy max's company and she doesn't want to go back to California without Talbot. Talbot proposes it was so cute max is pregnant with twins such a cute story.

Kindle Children Books Freebie Round Up
Ara the Star Engineer - Komal Singh,Ipek Konak
Ben's Adventures: Under the Big Top - Elizabeth Gerlach
Where Would Santa Go? - Julia Inserro,Natalie Merhab
Chicano JR: Mexican Adventure - Raul Jimenez,Felipe Vasconcelos
Creepy Pumpkin Patch - Brian Medrano,Kaustuv Brahmachari
Sticky the Elf - Samantha Des Jardins,Pablo Andreetta
Mary Bickerdyke: Civil War Heroine - Julie McDonald
The Squire of Low Degree - Edmund Spenser,Mary Macleod

The best in this good are Ara and Chicano Jr.

Ara is about STEM and is girl centered.  It includes several women of color and is about problem solving.

Chicano Jr. actually is  dual language and tries into the current immigration debate.

Where Would Santa Go and Sticky the Elf are standard Christmas fair. The Santa book does get points for a blended and multi-racial family. The Creepy Pumpkin Patch is an good Halloween book.

Ben Adventures is an interesting book about triplets, though I found the artwork to be better than the story.

Civil War Heroine - is written so both adults and children can get something out of it. It is an interesting brief history of an interesting woman.

The Squire of Low Degree - good retelling of the fourth book of Spenser's Queene.  Would also work if you need a gloss.
