Living in the Shallows

Genre: NA Romance
Release Date: October 28th 2016

Summary from Goodreads:Aileen Foster, a shy, 22 year old student from LA, thinks she has landed a dream job as an interpreter for some actors making a film in Japan. She gets a shock when she arrives in Tokyo and finds out that they are UK Crush, the hottest boyband around. She has been orphaned for most of her life, and it's a shock for her to enter their world of frank physicality. The boys come to love her, and Aileen is forced to look at her life and choices, and decide if she's ready to be brave and start living.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Aileen AKA Tinker Bell or Birdie as the boys like to call her, goes to Japan to interpret for someone making a movie. Turns out it is four guys around her age. They welcome her into the fold and treat her like family.

Theo and Matt are only half the band, but they are the half that are falling for their interpreter. There is so much going on in such a short time. Japan is very lovely and offers lots to see, but the schedule is quite hectic.

This story has so many wonderful adventures! I was really impressed with the character development. The guys are fun to read about. I cannot wait to read the next installment in the UK Crush series.

About the Author:

My name is Tani Hanes, and I am a 51 year old substitute teacher. I'm from central California and am a recent transplant to New York City. The most important things to know about me are that I'm punctual, I love grammar and sushi, and I'm very intolerant of intolerance. The least important things to know about me are that I like to knit and I couldn't spell "acoustic" for 40 years. I've wanted to write since I was ten, and I finally did it. If you want to write, don't wait as long as I did, it's pointless, and very frustrating!

Secrets in the Shallows (Book 1: The Monastery Murders Series)
Secrets in the Shallows (Book 1: The Monastery Murders Series) - Karen Vance Hammond,Kimberly Brouillette Was a very interesting and different read from my usual reads, there were a few times the switch between character's point of view was abit jarring but has lots of intrigue and mystery to keep you interested in wanting to know and read more. Overall was a good book.

Meine Meinung:
Der 1. Band Herzgeflüster - Into the deep endete mit einem zerbrechlichen Happy End.

Was habe ich bekommen?

From the New York Times bestselling author of Into the Deep LIVE YOUNG. LIVE HARD. LOVE DEEP. Charley and Jake’s story concludes in Out of the Shallows… Somehow, after everything they’ve been through, Jake Caplin and Charley Redford made their way back to one another. But finding each other and staying together are two completely different things. When Charley’s world is flipped upside down, she begins to question the choices and decisions she’s made since her arrival in Edinburgh, and in an effort to grip onto what she holds most dear she believes she must sacrifice her love for Jake. Returning to the States for her senior year, Charley struggles to find peace and happiness. While everyone else seems to be finding themselves in college, Charley is terrified that, along with almost everything else that’s important to her, she’s lost herself. While friends and family deal with their own tumultuous lives, there is one person resolved to uncover the reason behind Charley’s sudden defection and unhappiness. Refusing to give up without a fight, Jake believes he is the only one who can truly understand what Charley is going through, and this time he’s determined to prove he’s there for her no matter what obstacles are thrown in their way. However, as Charley strives through the biggest personal journey of her life thus far, there is no guarantee that the woman she is becoming will still need Jake as much as the girl she once was did…

Unfortunately this was a major disappointment. BUT I was prepared for it because the ending of book one didn’t suggest room for development of the story. Basically this book is almost the same as the previous one. The conversations, the situations, the drama- all the same (or similar). I even don’t think the ending was satisfying…I definitely needed a little more.

I loved Charley in the first book but I can’t say I continued to like her in this one. She wasn’t the strong and passionate girl any more. Yes, this time she is struggling with guilt but it’s like she is a totally different heroine.

The story: Charley and Jake aren’t together in the begging of the book. Slowly we learn why. But Jake is not going to give up on her despite the fact he pushes him away constantly. Beck and Claudia continue with their pretending to don’t want to be together and Lowe is still awesome as always.

“You make me feel like I can be anyone , do anything… but you also have the ability to make me feel weak. You have the ability to crush me like no one else can.”

Overall the story is sweet but maybe I shouldn’t have read book 2.
