ARC REVIEW You Had Me at Jaguar by Terry Spear

You Had Me at Jaguar (Heart of the Shifter #1)Heart of the Shifter #1, first book of the USF spin-off. For fans of the Heart of the Wolf series( and the other spin-offs) we do see some familiar faces but this book centers around Valerie Chambers and Howard Armstrong. I didn't get into this one as much as the previous books, it just didn't catch my attention the same way. Jaguar shifters don't mate for life, they also can sleep with each other before deciding to mate, unlike wolf shifters. I liked the set up for the series and the characters well enough even though I really didn't feel the chemistry between Val and Howard and the story didn't grab me.

Val and Howard met in training for the Enforcers where they make a practice of putting the men against the woman so the women can find ways of subduing larger prey. Val so far has been the only who could pin Howard down. Couple years later Howard started working for the newly formed United Shifter Force, a co-op where shifters of all kind work with each other. Val is still an Enforcer, the Jaguars shifters execution squad for those who have killed humans and/or shifter. Val has been working just fine on her own but for some reason her parents, who are also both Enforcers, thought she would need back up on this next mission. They asked the USF to provide some for her; Howard and one of his wolf shifter partners Jillian get called in for the job. The job was suppose to be an easy one in Val's opinion the guy turned his wife and murdered her when he couldn't handle her and with irrefutable proof he did it all Val had to do was track him down and then put him down. Val didn't want the back up but when her guy makes a trip to Belize with his new girlfriend he's thankful for all the help she can get because once they get down there things get way more complicated especially when they discover the case Val's parents are on and hers are connected.

Overall, I enjoyed the characters more than the story. Terry Spear, much like Lynsay Sands, tends to be formulaic in her writing but it's still entertaining to read, the quirky characters make each book memorable. The story felt neverending, up into the last 90% of the book they were still trying to finish the mission and then the climax felt rushed. I am curious about what side characters in this book will continue on to the next book, I kinda want to see Rowdy get his HEA.

ARC REVIEW Forever Broken by Carrie Anne Ryan
Forever Broken (Talon Pack, #9)Talon Pack #9, The final book of the series! This makes me sad even though I know she's not done with this world and she plans to come back at some future point this was the genre I fell in love with her writing way back in the beginning with The Redwood Pack. So it is sad for me to see the characters go I'm happy they all have HEAs at least for the time being.

Cheyenne Liles is the last of her friends to get something more than Friend of the Pack status. She was ready to move on with her life move away and start again somewhere new until the bastard Alpha Leader of the Aspen Pack kidnaps her and starts torturing her. After he leaves her for dead something happens that leads up to a chain of events that changes everything.

Max was broken, not the same shifter he once was, no longer the happy one always ready with a joke not letting the packs horrible past get to him. No one comes away from an epic battle without some damage and due to the events in the last story arc Max was forever changed. He never thought he could find his mate and be a good mate and it never even registered that his attraction to Cheyenne might be something more until her life was on the line and then suddenly the bond was there. With Cheyenne surviving they had some clue as to what their enemy was up to but nothing prepared them for him actually doing it.

Overall, this was one hell of a conclusion and one I didn't expect. I kept distracting myself at the end of the book because I was delaying the inevitable, I really did not want this to end. It was an emotional and freaking HOT romance Max and Cheyenne finding out how they fit together and how together they fit with the pack. I love how CAR writes a battle scene how it's total chaos but her writing isn't it just portrays the chaos and the violence, it's edge of your seat, holding your breath, and reading as fast as you can action.

Review - Run Fur Love by Catherine Vale
Run Fur Love (BBW Tiger Shifter Romance) - Catherine Vale

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked  it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover is pretty awesome!  My favorite shifter covers always have both beautiful beasts on it, and this one also has the bike and tat too!

This is a standalone book that as far as I can tell is not a series.  This is an adult book due to the steamy content and violence.

Harley definitely intrigues me because she is human but has the fierceness of a shifter.  Jericho falls hard for Harley, and they have quite a journey together.  I liked all the action, and I was pulled into the story.  I don’t want to give anything away because the journey is part of the adventure, so read the blurb and if you love shifters especially of the tiger variety you will want to read this one!!

I recommend this book to all the tiger shifter lovers especially if you love Catherine’s work!

Brain Beach
A Marked Man/ Alaska With Love (Assassin-Shifter #1-2) - Sandrine Gasq-Dion,'Jenjo' Jacobson, Jennifer

I bought this three years ago and finally got to it. Great premise. Weak follow through. So as far as 'brain bleach' this was okay. Nowhere near a great read, I didn't stop reading it but I didn't take it seriously.

ROMANCE: Wolf in Love's Clothing BBW Wolf Shifter Paranormal Romance (Running with Wolves Book 1)
ROMANCE: Wolf in Love's Clothing BBW Wol... ROMANCE: Wolf in Love's Clothing BBW Wolf Shifter Paranormal Romance (Running with Wolves Book 1) - Zara Brooke This was a short read. The story has a solid plot but I felt maybe it was a bit rushed. I guess I am a stickler for details so I would have loved to know a little more about the backstory between Jack and Loretta. The villain remained much of a question mark in my mind. Who was he? How did he find her? And HOW COULD THE PACK HAVE NOT NOTICED HIM COMING? As for the conclusion, I was disappointed with her choice because there was not much build up between the characters.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
