Book review : The titans curse Rick Riordan
The titans curse - Rick Riordan

October 4 - 19

Summary - When Percy Jackson receives an urgent distress call from his friend Grover, he immediately prepares for battle. He knows he'll need his powerful demigod allies at his side; his trusty bronze sword, Riptide; and . . . a ride from his mom.

The demigods reace to the rescue to find that Grover has made an important discovery: two new powerful half-bloods, whose parentage is unknown. But that's not all that awaits them. The Titan lord, Kronos, has set up a devious trap, and the young heroes have just fallen prey.

Hilarious and action-packed, this third adventure in the series finds Percy faced with his most dangerous challenge yet—the chilling prophecy of the Titan's curse

favorite quotes “Wow,” Thalia muttered. “Apollo is hot.”
“He’s the sun god,” I said.
“That’s not what I mean

Let us find the dam snack bar," Zoe said. "We should eat while we can."
Grover cracked a smile. "The dam snack bar?"
Zoe blinked. "Yes. What is funny?"
"Nothing," Grover said, trying to keep a straight face. "I could use some dam french fries."
Even Thalia smiled at that. "And I need to use the dam restroom."
...
I started cracking up, and Thalia and Grover joined in, while Zoe just looked at me. "I do not understand."
"I want to use the dam water fountain," Grover said.
"And..." Thalia tried to catch her breath. "I want to buy a dam t-shirt.”

Do you always try to kill people when they blow their nose?”

Review: The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #3)by Rick Riordan

Syno

It's not everyday you find yourself in combat with a half-lion, half-human.

But when you're the son of a Greek god, it happens. And now my friend Annabeth is missing, a goddess is in chains and only five half-blood heroes can join the quest to defeat the doomsday monster.

Oh, and guess what? The Oracle has predicted that not all of us will survive...

My Thoughts

It has been a while since I read book two, but it was super easy to get back into the world of Percy Jackson and his friends. Thanks to the great writing and in-story recap I never had the feeling that I have forgotten much, despite the long tome between the books.

Annabeth pretty disappeared during one of their adventures. Of course they have to go save her but that is never just that easy and many things fall into the way and trying not only to stop them but kill them.

Of course I still like Percy , I think I like him so much because he is just so “normal’ everyday struggles and just plain down to earth. But of course that often gets him in trouble, but makes it entertaining to say the least.  We meet some new Demi gods and their story, sooo far and we also meet Athena, goddess of hunt which is actually a bigger part of the story. She come with the hunt and we get to meet some hunters.

Zoey was a bit annoying in the beginning which I think that was by design, but I ended up really loving her.  We also meet Apollo, who is always has been my favorite when it comes to Greek mythology, that being said I really enjoyed his parts.

While the books are aimed at middle grade readers, I think that theses book are just amazing for all ages and will be enjoyed by much older audience as well.

Of course the ending ended on a cliffhanger and made me grave the next book right away, I’m looking forward very much to continue and finish this series.

5 ★ for me

Der Fluch des Titanen // The Titan's Curse
Der Fluch des Titanen (Percy Jackson, #03) - Rick Riordan,Gabriele Haefs

Meine Bewertung: Fast perfekt!!!

My review: Nearly perfect!!!

More Annabeth and this book would have gotten 5 stars but I just missed her too much through all of this.

At the same time I loved the fact that this book was focused on Thalia. And I loved all the new wonderful faces, Zoe, Bianca, Nico, Rachel (I totally forgot about her until the very moment shortly before she showed up and then I was just excited to see her again), I also really loved meeting Annabeth's father and stepmom.
Aaaand of course, Artemis and Apollo. I just love that we meet at least one or two gods in these books.

I also really loved the adventure they were on and how fast paced it was written. The book isn't really that long but it still didn't feel rushed or anything.

I'm just happy that I'm rereading this series and that I can dive back into this wonderful world.

My opinion:

I really liked this book (for some reason, I don't know why) more than the first two books in this series and I appreciate it more and more. The story is just so complex, because there are so many storylines and mythology background that is linked with each other. I also love the friendship moral in this one (even though this also happens in the first two books). I'm glad I picked it up after all.

What is your opinion about the third book in this series?
