Perhaps cross-post this in "Bug Reports" to be on the safe side, in case it's an unintended glitch? (It sometimes seems to be working for me, and sometimes it doesn't. Haven't really paid attention to when precisely it works and when it doesn't, though.)
Thanks, Themis-Athena, I did just that on your recommendation. :)

:)
I've got some features I'd love to see, -I've been thinking about what would really make booklikes a pleasure to use and keeping notes. Here's some of the things on my list, in no particular order.

1. Private notes for books - some sort of text field viewable only to me, preferably something with a generous character allowance, for keeping track of things like who recommended a book, why I wanted to read it, private thoughts not suitable/ready for the review space. I am aware that drafts are not viewable by others but I'd like something that is always private not just waiting to be published and preferably viewable from the bookshelves rather than in the blog page.

2. When adding a book(s) to shelf have a text box at the top of shelf list, so you can type the desired shelf name -or part of it and get a reduced list of only those shelves that contain the text. Rather than having to scroll down to the desired shelf which gets awkward if you have a long list of shelves. Also would be helpful if you could create a new shelf from that location.

3. Sticky order for shelves both in shelf view and when adding books. If I have for example four main shelves that most books go into I'd like to designate them to list first rather than alphabetically. So my case I could choose to have the 'read in 2013' shelf or for next year 2014 to be at the top. Adding numbers and punctuation to the beginning of shelves works, sort of, but it adds visual junk to the look of the shelves.

4. Better sorting in table view. Sort by author goes by first name, being able to switch to last name to sort would be excellent. Likewise for title sort, if "A" and "The" as first words were disregarded for titles when sorting so "The Book Thief" sorted as "Book Thief, The" and came listed with the "B"s instead of with the "T"s and "A Christmas Carol" showed up with the "C" books instead of the "A"s.

5. Search my shelves in a way that brings up it's own page of search results preferably showing the results as in table view display so you can see shelves and read date etc. for all of them in one place -I'd like this for general search as well but especially within my books- rather than the first 3 hits in a drop down and the option to expand to three more. Particularly necessary if you want to see all your books that fit a certain criteria. Like everything you have or have read by a particular author. For example if I want to see how many books I have by Terry Pratchett - it's one click to switch to shelf search and then 7 clicks to expand to see all results and there is no way to tell how each book is shelved from that view. i have to click each book to see if it's shelved as read or planning to read. And then go back and run the search again to see the next book. This is also helpful when adding books, being able to go through a list of books by an author and add the ones you own rather than searching for each one by one. And if you want to see what else an author has written while looking for a new book to read, which can't be easily accomplished with the current search.

6. A search bar above the shelves in table/cover view, exclusively to search out shelves, in addition to the search bar at top of screen. The multi-use search bar is fine in other spots but when viewing the bookshelves being able to search just them without clicking to change the search from a store/website search to just the shelves would make searching more convenient and quicker.

7. Expandable text field when writing reviews & blog posts, the same way you can drag from the corner to resize with posts here in the forums.

I've got a bunch of others but, that's enough for now. Sorry if some or all of these have been requested before.

Hey all. Thank you for all your request, suggestions and remarks.

Just wanted to let you know that we do keep and eye on this discussion and plan further development along with your requests.

One more time thank you for your engagement and patience. It means a lot to us :)

Have a great time on BookLikes :-)

If you change thematic shelf into exclusive status or add new exclusive status, the books should be marked only with this new exclusive status. If you still experience the issue, please mail us with details.

You can heart/like a text directly on post page. When you're on a post page/ review page on someone's blog, click "Like" in the upper right corner to heart this text.
What I really miss is integration with the Biblionetka site. I would love to:
* Import my books from Biblionetka
* Export my books from BookLikes to Biblionetka
* Feed my books from BookLikes to the Biblionetka's recommendation engine
* Perhaps also synchronize my blog posts between Biblionetka and BookLikes

Also, it would be great to see some recommendation tool on BookLikes. (I do realize, though, that it's very hard to do)
I'd like a "heart / like / thumbs up / agree/ +" button in discussions, please.

And the ability to edit comments under blog posts ...
1. Please, please, please, please make shelving easier. Its so tedious to shelve on here I've almost given up.

2. I'd like some way to see what others have shelved books as, or tagged them.

3. A way to search through my own books. I've spent many, many aggravating times looking for a book that I know is on my shelves SOMEWHERE.

Thanks for actually listening to us. :) it's a good feeling.

As for your 3d point, there's a "bookshelf" option in the drop down menu of the search bar at the top of your browser window ... have you tried that? (The "bookshelf" referenced is your own.)

In the top search bar -click on the little logo to the left side of the bar -mine has amazon's A but yours may be different- and it will open a drop down menu click on the first result that looks like a magnifying glass and says 'bookshelf' that will set it to search only your books.

But I'll second the easier way to search your books I'd really like a designated search bar when on the shelf pages.
Is there a way to clear a star rating after you have assigned one? I see how to change four stars to three, say, but not how to go from X stars to no stars.

If that is not yet possible, I would like to request it. Thank you!
I'd really like it if the method for selecting multiple shelves in table view was a little more deliberate. I'd much prefer if clicking on a shelf results in switching to that shelf, which seems like the most logical result. Rather than any shelf (as long as it isn't two exclusive shelves) you click on while viewing another shelf gets you a combined view of both. I get stuck with that every single time I try to switch shelves.
It would be nice if instead there was an option to click to see multiple shelves -it'd be even nicer if you could choose a combined view of the contents of both or to see only books that are on both shelves.
I would like to see "audiobooks" added to the blog categories. I'm sure there are others, like me, who get a lot of their reading done by audio. This format needs special considerations in a review, as there are unique characteristics, such as sound editing, narrator performance, and use of music or sound effects. Plus some books just aren't suited to the audio format. I'd like to be able to connect with others who blog about it.
Need help?
