I would like the search function to do an exact search when I use quotes. There is an author named "Sara's Girl" and it is really hard to find her books, because even with quotes, every book with Sara and Girl somewhere in the title and author names comes up. This same author is sometimes listed "saras_girl" and searching that, with or without quote marks, brings up all those same books.
I wish the new form that you see when you hit a book on your shelf told you when you had read it, like it used to.
I've brought this up a couple of times when commenting on updates but it's never really been addressed and it hasn't been addressed in the most recent update today so I guess I'm just going to ask again here and see if I can get an answer.

As I've complained about before, when the new database was implemented a lot of my books ended up having their covers changed. Many of these were books that I had manually added myself so that I could have the cover I wanted so this was doubly frustrating. I really appreciate that the ability to add new editions was re-added and also the ability to switch editions, but this doesn't really help me. I can't just switch editions because the edition that has the cover I want doesn't exist in the database anymore and I can't add a new edition(again) in many cases because the ISBN is already in use.

There are a lot of cases where a single ISBN might have multiple editions with different covers, and I shouldn't have to settle for a cover that doesn't match the one I want/own just because it's a book in this situation. So how do you plan to handle books that have multiple covers per ISBN? At this point I'm sorely tempted to just manually add the editions I want again and check the box that says the book has no ISBN because I could care less about the ISBN, I just want my covers back the way they were.

On GoodReads and LeafMarks they handle this by just leaving the ISBN blank and making a note that it's an alternate cover for a particular ISBN. Maybe I'll start doing this if BookLikes doesn't come up with a better solution.
Yeah I agree that I want the pop-ups gone or at least have the option to disable them. I also just want the title/author tool tip back. As far as I'm concerned they make the site a lot less functional than it was. I'd like them to focus on the things that need to be fixed rather than adding stuff that's not needed and makes the site harder to use.

I think they just like to put out small little updates every Thursday so they look productive. I wouldn't mind going a few Thursdays without updates if it meant they were actually working on the important things that need fixing.
I'd like to make a request for an improvement (imo) on the shelf (list) view. Currently if you have a book on your shelf you haven't reviewed, there is a link for "Add Review". Clicking on this link takes you to the book page, where you have to click +Post and then choose "Text", "Quote", "Photo" etc.

Would it be possible to streamline that process, so that when you click on "Add Review" from your shelf (list view) the +Post options just pop up? I can't think of any reason why someone writing a review would be looking for any options not under +Post menu, or would need to visit the book page before writing a review, and it would make the whole process faster.

Thanks!
One more request, can the "date started" field be automatically filled in when a person marks a book as currently reading? Thanks.

I actually really don't want the date automatically filled when I mark a book as currently reading. This would be very annoying if I don't get around to updating things on the same day that I actually start reading the book. If Booklikes makes it an option instead of a flat out change I'd be fine with it, but I don't want automatic dates forced on me.
Could really use some improvements to the change edition feature. It wasn't useful to me really because the editions I wanted to change to weren't in the database anymore after the new database was put in. I manually added the edition I wanted(again) for one of my books, but I still wasn't able to switch to this edition because when you search for the edition you want to switch to, it only shows a limited number of results before you can't click on "show more" anymore.

So for me, this feature might as well not even exist because currently the only way I have to change editions is to remove the old one from my shelf and then add the new one and redo all the dates and shelves on it and everything, which was the only option I had before and it's really not preferable.
I would like to be able to set my page to private. I would like to be able to set comments on my page to followers only. I would like to be able to block people prior to them following me. I would like the custom settings for my page to display to me when on my page. I would like to be able to control if my posts are reblogged, and by whom.

Until I am able to better control the privacy of my content I won't be posting content.
Could we get the option to make advanced shelving the default setting? The advanced shelving option is actually a lot easier for me to use and it's frustrating always having to scroll down to select advanced shelving.

I was just thinking that today as I was posting a review. Having one less scroll and click would be nice.

I thought it was maybe just me, but I too miss how easy it used to be to access the advanced shelving options - I'm always wanting to set 'date started' and 'date finished' and it was easier to access the "old" way.
I have a lot of shelves, so it was easier for me, too; I have to scroll a lot now.
With the dates, Im finding that mine no longer put the start date in automatically (when i put a book onto the currently reading shelf) which i always forget to do myself, drives me nuts.

would be great if we could get that feature.....?

Is this happening to everyone or am I just a tripper, and any good idea's to help me to remember to put the date in myself?

No, you're not tripping. ;) The start date is not automatically added when you put the book in currently reading. I requested this same feature several weeks ago - it would be a really nice function to have.
