Because I'm a completist
Gunmetal Magic - Ilona Andrews

Drat, barely a vampire cameo. Will need another book. No matter.

I'm not as invested in Andrea, much less in her hit-me/kiss-me relationship with Raphael, but I had fun. It's inevitable with any of Andrews' books. Fast pace, mythology tie ins, and badass characters all around are always good. And I'm closer in filling in the bits of Kate Daniel's world.

Blood Howl (Sanguis Noctis #1) by Robin Saxon
Blood Howl - Robin Saxon,Alex Kidwell

I can't stress enough how much I do not care for neither characters nor the writing.
DNF-ing at 65%. 1 star for the part I read

The poor thing is tripping all over itself. I don't mean any of the MC's, I mean the book itself: the writing, the plot., the ...uh, grammar.

RS & AK, Leo Tolstoy you are not and long, complex sentences are not your forte. Tho color purple is pretty strong with you.

I still have only a vague idea as to what characters look like. Oh, wait, I know a tiny bit about one of the MC's "under all that baggy clothes and long hair there is a long elegant neck" to go with "long gorgeous fingers". Guh! Someone lend me a sharp stick!!!

Cute
The Single Undead Moms Club - Molly Harper

It was not outrageously fun like "And one last thing...", and could have done without the murder hit ass-pull escalation (seriously, what need was for that given the over-all tone?), but I liked it.

It was a comfy, easy read to get some smiles and dig myself out of a mild reading slump.

The Fervor by Xandrie Kovak
The Fervor - Xandrie Kovak

***copy provided via InstaFreebie***

No, just no.

It started off rather well, but quickly descended into chaos. And not the organized kind of chaos. The story was all over the place, the heroine was an idiot...And when the hero turned out to be sixteen, it all ended.
I like my shifters, especially if they're Alphas, much older than sixteen, thank you very much.

Combined with the first-person POV, which I dislike on principle, the rather idiotic plot and over-flowing world-building, and bland characters, this freebie will remain a DNF.

Omega Academy (Project Alpha/Omega #1) by Jules Finley
Omega Academy (Project Alpha/Omega Book 1) - Jules Finley

TAGS: GFY, mpreg last 5%.

I really enjoyed first 50% of the book, thinking giving it at least 4 stars.

However, after Bryce's bathroom window incident it started going downhill. Too much info dumping (pre-war, pre-academy life, constantly whining about wanting to die, then changing mind...) and too lovey-dovey bordering saccharine in the very end.

Jackson never made an impression on me as a big bad alpha. Omega Oliver had more guts, will and drive than him.

A few nice surprises in the second part of the book and one more closer to the end. 3.25 stars. Rounding down to 3 on GR and up to 3.5 on Booklikes.

Dr. Reed -ha-ha, that name, different spelling but still, I could not help it! =)

Monica, thank you for the rec. All in all, it was a very fun read :)
