Star Wars The Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark

Review by: Bluninja29

Opening Thoughts:

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark is a collection of stories based off the TV show Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2003 TV series.) It has 11 Short Stories all based off episodes from the TV show. with more view points that we didn't get to see in the show. One of the Short stories im are gonna look at is about Count Dooku.

Story:

Count Dooku was surprised attacked by the Republic.

Presentation:

I do like how these are in the characters point of view like Count Dooku. I also like how all the stories are based off the show. What I didn't like is how these are short stories, but it is a nitpick so I won't get crazy over it. I honestly liked this book.

If you are a star wars nerd or want to give your kid a star wars book to read. then this is the book for you!

4/5

Light in the Dark - Taybay14
This is a very dark slavefic in which Dean is kidnapped by slaver Castiel. Castiel and his brother Gabriel supply sex slaves to the great and the good. Lapped it up.

I decided to listen to this one on a whim...
Light from the Dark - Mercy Celeste,Derrick McClain

and honestly compared some of Ms Celeste other stories...in particular 'Midnight Clear'/'Need You Now' for me this one just didn't measure up. I was a little put off by Chris's 'I don't know what my sexuality is so I'll be ACE...oh wait, hot man sighting, I must be gay.' while admittedly I'm neither ACE nor gay, I am pretty sure that it doesn't quite work that way. I really think that it would have been a whole lot more convincing given Chris's lack of experience and how sheltered he was in regards to matters of sexuality, sexual identity and just sex in general if maybe he had just been portrayed as someone who was confused and a bit uniformed in this area but it was what it was.

The other part that just wasn't working for me was the extended breaks in the mystery part or the story that happened so that Micah and Chris could explore Chris's sexuality...you remember Chris, the 'ACE' character...trust me folks he was definitely making up for lost time.

There were also a couple of issue in regard to the mystery part of this story that I found to be a bit questionable so that wasn't really going tickity boo for me either but I'm not going to spoil anything for future readers by saying more than this.

Derrick McClain provided the narration for this one and if I'm rating strictly in regards to that aspect of things I'd probably be rating this a bit higher but in spite of the solid job provided for the narration it wasn't enough to make me overlook what didn't work so I'm leaving this one at 3 stars overall.

Dark Light (Chronicles of the Light #4) - Chris Stoneheart

With complications arising in her relationship with Nathan, guarding gazelles in Africa with Ryan, Strigorii vampires who have her in their sights, and a few battles with her old enemy, Aquilla and Kaitlin doesn’t know whether she’s coming or going. She feels like she’s become a game piece in a sadistic chess tournament and all she wants is off the board to live in peace and quiet with her daughter.

Kaitlin is back in this explosive and energetic continuation of the ‘Chronicles of Light’ series. This time the story has our feisty heroine negotiating with the Lord of Lust, traveling to Africa, guarding gazelles and discovering that there is other supernatural groups that want a piece of her. This fast paced, non-stop action story is full of captivating emotional angst, thrilling, hold your breath suspense and stunning battles that rocks readers’ worlds while keeping them completely absorbed until the very last page.

The romance part of this story has a hit a few snags as her relationship with Nathan explodes into an ‘OMG what have I done now’ moment. And honestly this whole story explodes into sharp edged pieces as friends, lovers, allies and even enemies are torn apart and readers don’t want to miss one second of the world rockin’ excitement as Kaitlin tries to keep all the allies in Chattanooga from disintegrating into an unfixable mess.

Reading progress update: I've read 367 out of 367 pages/[24 Festive Tasks - Door 4: Diwali (Book)]
Dark Light - Jayne Castle

Not sure if I'll be reviewing this book, so I'll be using this post as proof I completed the book task.

Book: Read a book with candles on the cover or the word “candle” or “light” in the title; OR a book that is the latest in a series; OR set in India; OR any non-fiction book that is ‘illuminating’ (Diwali is Sanskrit for light/knowledge and row, line or series)
