I'm pretty sure I read this one a loooong time ago, but it didn't stick in my head. I don't think it will this time around, either. Definitely not my favorite Goosebumps book and I had a hard time getting through it. It wasn't awful or anything, though, just not one of the really good ones in my opinion.

I only vaguely remembered this one, but I did remember really loving it the first time I read it when I was about 9, I think. I was obsessed with the middle ages, and especially the less pleasant aspects they didn't teach us much about in school, so I was even more excited than usual to get this Goosebumps book. This time around, not much has changed. I'm still generally interested in the same kinds of things I was back then, and I still really enjoyed this book.

All the Goosebumps books are short, quick reads, and this one is jammed with action almost from the very beginning. While I was reading, it took me a while to remember what happened with Eddie and Sue I remembered as soon as they got to the tower cell that they were the prince and princess, but I couldn't remember how they'd ended up so far in the future. After I remembered that, I still couldn't remember how the book ended, so it was almost like reading it for the first time again, which was kind of awesome.

Basically, even about 20 years later, I still love the Goosebumps books, and I'm glad to find one of my childhood favorites was still fun to read as an adult.

 

So, I missed the Goosebumps craze the first time 'round, I was just a little bit too old. Cough. But I will watch almost any kids show, and I enjoyed the TV series. And in choosing some Halloween reads, I decided to pick up a few Goosebumps books based on which episodes liked. Werewolf Skin is kind of an unexceptional episode, but I really liked the premise, it stood out for me enough that I remembered it all these years later. I am obviously not the intended audience, LOL! But, man, it is VERY simple, isn't it?

Süß. Ich war so süß!

"Was nun?", heulte Fergie. "Was machen wir jetzt?"

"Ähm ... nach Eicheln suchen?", schlug ich vor.

Fergie blinzelte mich mit ihren winzigen Knopfaugen an. "Wie bitte?"

"Lass uns nach Eicheln suchen!", sagte ich.

 

 

"Ich sterbe vor Hunger!"

Zum millionsten Mal in dieser Nacht strampelte ich mir die Decke von den Beinen und sprang aus dem Bett.

 

 

Diesmal hatte ich wirklich etwas gehört. Und diesmal war es ganz bestimmt nicht der Wind gewesen. Ich höre ständig irgendetwas. Aber egal, was ich auch höre, Mom sagt immer nur: "Das ist der Wind, Cooper. Nur der Wind."
