August 2017 Round-Up with Book-Haul and Giveaway

Hello Everyone ,

I hope you had an awesome August, I know mine was pretty good. We had some summer fun and now the kids went back to school a bit ago. As always in a way the summer went by way to quickly in others not quick enough.

When it comes to reading I did get my five book goal in but just barely, but also most of them were ARCs. Actually all of them excerpt one, that I won on Facebook .

I got a pretty good seized books full of ARCs in the beginning of August, plus some on kindle. So I been trying to knock the pile down as fast as I can. I also will add a book-haul in here since it is a pretty good size.

We still have the giveaway going on that ends September 5th so there is still plenty of time to enter for a chance to win a grand prize of $130 Paypal cash. I will add it to the end here.

My September plans are just to get some more of my ARCs done and maybe even catch up on the Glass of Throne series, I still have Empire of Storms to read before I start Tower of Dawn that releases September 5th.

Speaking of releases, here are some books to look forward to in September according to Goodreads.

September 5th

If There's No Tomorrow by Jennifer L. Armentrout, White Trash Zombie Unchained by Diana Rowland, Intensity by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas.

One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake September 19th

September 26th

The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo, Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King, The Hunt by Chloe Neill and Sleep Like a Baby by Charlaine Harris.

Love in the Friend Zone by Molly E. Lee

The only thing worse than not being able to tell your best friend you’re head over heels in love with him? Having to smile and nod when he enlists your help to ensnare the girl of his dreams.

Braylen didn’t even want to go to Lennon Pryor’s epic graduation-night party, but when Fynn begs her to be his “wingwoman,” she can’t deny him. Talking up her BFF—how he’s magic behind a camera, with a killer sense of humor and eyelashes that frame the most gorgeous blue eyes in the history of forever—is easy. Supporting his efforts to woo someone so completely wrong for him? Not so much.

Fynn knows that grad night is his last shot before leaving for college to find true love. And thanks to Bray, he gets his chance with the beautiful Katy Evans. But over the course of the coolest party of their high school careers, he starts to see that perhaps what he really wants has been in front of him all along. Bray’s been his best friend since kindergarten, though, and he’d rather have her in his life as a friend than not at all.

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains one epic party, complete with every high-schoolers-gone-bad shenanigan, and two best friends whose sexual chemistry is off the charts…if only they’d succumb to it.

4 ½ ★

Molten Dusk by Karissa Laurel

While recovering from a devastating betrayal, Solina becomes increasingly drawn to Thorin as he helps her hunt down Skoll, the mythical wolf who vowed to kill her. If she can find and destroy the beast, she’ll bring a swift and brutal end to her enemies’ schemes. But nothing ever goes as planned in Solina’s strange new world.

During her search for Skoll, Solina uncovers a plot to unleash a battalion of legendary soldiers and launch an apocalyptic war. Before she and her allies can locate the fabled army, several ghosts from her past return to haunt her. Solina must fight for life and the fate of the world, or her hopes for love and a peaceful future will go up in flames.

Lie by Mayra Statham

Box office sensation, Marcus Wright is ready to take on the role of director. Romance author and single mom, Grace Rivera, is shocked when the sexiest man alive knocks on her door with the intent to bring her book to life.

He is willing to do anything to get what he wants, even use his charms on the beautiful, curvy woman standing in his way. Only it doesn’t take long for the shy woman to unknowingly embed herself under his skin.

In a world where one plays make believe and the other writes it, will they determine everything between them is a LIE? Or will they be able to LIE in one another’s arms when the truth comes out?

Silent Music by Jane Hawking

Growing up in London in the aftermath of the Second World War, Ruth is an observant and thoughtful child who finds herself in a confusing and mysterious adult world. She seeks refuge in her memories of her idyllic stays with her grandparents in the picturesque East Anglian countryside – which provide comforting visions of a simpler life. As she comes to terms with her surroundings and her own adolescence, Ruth finds the motivation to pursue the tantalizing dream which has governed her childhood, and discovers some family secrets along the way.

A coming-of-age novel about the unpredictable nature of human behaviour and about taking control of one’s destiny, Silent Music is a timeless portrait of post-war Britain, as well as a lyrical paean to hope and aspiration.

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon

19-year-old Paige is working in the criminal underworld of Scion London. Her job: to scout for information by breaking into people’s minds. It is raining the day her life changes for ever. Attacked, drugged and kidnapped. She is assigned to Warden, a Rephaite. He is her master. Her trainer. Her natural enemy. But if Paige wants to regain her freedom she must allow herself to be nurtured in this prison where she is meant to die.

But, when it turns out that Logan is a new teacher at Abbi’s school, it looks like their relationship is doomed to be nothing but a spring fling.

About Elle Christensen

I’m a lover of all things books, a hopeless romantic, and have always had a passion for writing. Between being a sappy romantic, my love of an HEA, my crazy imagination, and ok, let’s be real, my dirty mind, I fell easily into writing romance. I’m a huge baseball fan and yet, a complete girly, girl. I’m an obsessive reader and have a slight (hahaha! Slight? Yeah, right) addiction to signed books. I’m married to my very own book boyfriend, an alpha male with a sexy, sweet side. He is the best inspiration, my biggest supporter and the love of my life. He is also incredibly patient and understanding about the fact that he has to fight the voices in my head for my attention. I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them!

Worst of all, he’s beginning to fall harder than ever before. It throws his rules and her plans out the window. Could it have been fate? Or will it become the biggest mistake either of them has ever made?

About Sheena Hutchinson

Much like Martin Luther King it all started with a dream. The rest one can say is history. If you have read Seraphina: The Awakening I feel like you already know me inside and out. I’ve worked on the Seraphina books for over a year before I decided to publish them for the world to see. Written from my own dreams and imagination with portions taken directly from my very own journal at times. The first book is literally derived from my own thoughts and tears. When I’m not working, you can find me at my local coffeehouse writing my next saga. Stay tuned I’ve got plenty of stories left. I have a wild imagination and a way with words. Which makes for a very lethal combination!
