Love love, love
Buffy: Season Ten Volume 1 : New Rules (Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 10) - Rebekah Isaacs,Christos Gage,Joss Whedon

I didn't read all of last season, I think, but I figured since I had this, I'd give it a go.  Or maybe I just don't remember all of season nine?   Either way, this filled in what I needed to know, and I never felt completely thrown for a loop.

I enjoyed the humor and warmth of Buffy's extended family and I love seeing Spike grow as a character.

Beautiful!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8: Willow (Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8) - Joss Whedon,Andy Owens,Karl Moline

Gorgeously written and illustrated issue about Willow set during season eight of Buffy.   Won't make much sense without reading season eight first, but well worthwhile after.

Didn't really work for me
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8: Riley (Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8) - Jane Espenson,Andy Owens,Karl Moline

In the end, I wasn't crazy about the Twilight storyline, although I liked it well enough on my first read.   Add that with the fact that I didn't love Riley ever, and I knew this would be 'meh' for me.  I wanted to read it for completion's sake, and also because I'd already bought it in a Humble Bundle.  I also figured it would be a quick read, before my mind wandered too far or got too nervous.  I was right.

This actually had a lot of good information about Riley and Sam, and what their long term plans were, and how they choose to be together instead of feeling tied down to each other.   There was also a lot of Sam saying she would go on missions if the government called upon her again, and that she didn't need Riley's permission.   And that, yes, she was partly okay with him going with Buffy because he wanted to, and she knew he'd come back to her in the end, but that, yes, it was partly because it would make her feel better about going later on.

I particularly liked the character development for Sam.   It wasn't enough to make me really love this, though.   The art was great, but the story, and even the fun parts between Riley and Sam, never overtook the fact that I don't particularly like Riley - and it turns out I don't particularly like Sam either.

The 'heavenly host' BS is finally sorted out
Angel. Volume 2 : The crown prince syndrome - Brian Denham,Elena Casagrande,Bill Willingham

And it actually makes sense in the kind of twisted way that I expected would be the explanation for this.   I actually quite enjoyed this, especially Illyria trying to seduce Connor.

I love her just taking charge of the situation and saying what she wants and letting him know when she wants it.   It was nice to see.

Overall, this was far more enjoyable than most of the other Angel books I've read, but I'm not ashamed to admit I'm on a little bit of an Angel burnout.

Didn't love this as much as I'd hoped...
Angel: Immortality For Dummies - Brian Denham,Bill Willingham

I did like the way Illyria had her talk with Angel, and that part was funny to boot.  The general storyline made sense as far as the Buffyverse goes, but I was never fully unchanged by this, by the story, or the execution.

Nothing wrong with it, it just didn't do it for me.

Moving onto the next Angel volume.   I only have a couple left, and Angel is not my preferred Buffyverse.  I'd rather be in Buffy, to be honest, although Spike doesn't hurt in these volumes.   He's one of my favorite characters and he made Angel season five no only tolerable, but pleasant for me.   Him and Illyria.
