Howl of Wolves (Sam Clair, #4)
A Howl of Wolves - Judith Flanders

Flanders writes a great mystery, whose main character has a dry wit that I enjoy.

Howl of Wolves is centred around a theatre production, which isn't one of my favourite settings, but it worked. I enjoyed watching Sam put facts and observations together without wedging herself in where she didn't belong, or going around the backs of the police.  The murderer might have been several people but wasn't obvious enough to ruin the surprise.

I'd like to hope that there will be a fifth book, but it's been awhile since this one was published.  No more Sam and Jake adventures would be a disappointment.

Full Moon Howl - Orlando A. Sanchez

Book source ~ Kindle Unlimited

Bad juju is going down and The Dark Council wants Simon and Tristan to investigate. However, the evidence is pointing a finger right at Tristan. But you know what they say? If you are pointing 1 finger at someone then there are 4 more pointing back at you. Or something like that. Because we all know it’s not Tristan who is doing this nasty stuff. Montague & Strong need to find out who is behind the nasty business. Preferably before Tristan is taken out for something he didn’t do.

There’s lots of magic and danger going on and the world is interesting. The writing is a bit sparse. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, it just seems a bit lacking in…I don’t know, filler, for want of a better word. Like I said, not necessarily a bad thing, but I like a bit more fiber to my reading meal. Simon is a smartass and it can get a bit irritating which is also why I don’t rate this higher. However, it’s decent entertainment and enough to keep me going with the series. Also, Peaches is the best character of all. Just sayin’.

Real Men Howl
Real Men Howl - Marina Maddix,Celia Kyle

Lucy's parents were murdered in front of her. She leaves her small town due to the memories and makes a life somewhere else. After she is falsely accused of theft, she returns to her small town where she has her parent's house. Mason is the alpha of the local werewolf pack. He is on the verge of going feral and needs to find his mate stat. (If you want to take a guess who that mate is- you would be right!).
I did like this more then I thought I would. I liked Lucy's selflessness in rescuing the little boy. I also liked that she wouldn't put up with shit from Mason. Overall, she's pretty kickass. I did like the closure she got: regarding her parents murder. I would have liked for the whole thing with her false accusation to have been resolved as well (she was jobless during the course of the book).
Who needs a job when you have a man to take care of you? Girl power! (eye roll).

5 Star Howl
Shadow's Howl - Riley Storm

Jennifer Shaw is an academy-trained mage with a dark secret but she is setting out to make things right even if it destroys her life. Her first stop is the wolf shifter rebels’ hideout where she’s greeted by the most suspicious, untrusting and downright gorgeous man she’s ever met, but she can’t let him distract her. A betrayal rocked him to his core and Liam Canis doesn’t trust anyone and he’s not going to be dissuaded from finding out the real reason the mage is there. Time is running out and only a mated pair will be able to save his friends and fix a wrong she can’t ignore.

This ‘High House Canis’ story is a cauldron full of trouble, energy and emotional turmoil. The chemistry between Jennifer and Liam is raw and full of electrical sparks that fly in every direction (sometimes literally) although they have a bit of charming cluelessness about their attraction and what it means. This couple is perfect for each other and their relationship is quite cute even as it captures the heart with all the gripping emotions that flow from the pages.

The plot is fast paced and energetic with lots of non-stop suspense and action that keeps readers hanging on by the fingernails with bit of excitement. The author portrayed this story and wonderful couple with bright, vivid intensity which makes it easy for readers to picture each and every detail including all the magic and passion. The story also has a stunning and exciting magical battle that results in a wonderfully exciting change for the rebels that readers can’t help but enjoy.

As this story continues, I enjoy each new couple. Looking forward to the next book.
Make Him Howl - Zoe Ashwood

Third in the series which I have been enjoying. Gabriel struggled with his feelings for Parker through most of the story. A couple times I just wanted to smack him in the head. Parker went through some horrific experiences, and she worried no one would want her any more. Their chemistry was explosive and overcame all doubts and obstacles. As the main story continues, I hope to see more of this couple. I recommend this story, and I look forward to the next installment.

I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
