great box set!
Cosmic Cabaret: Science Fiction Romance Anthology - Alicia Kat Vancil,Athena Grayson,Dena Garson,Kerry Adrienne,Selene Grace Silver,Cailin Briste,Blaire Edens,Rosalie Redd,Jayne Fury,Diana Rivis,SFR Shooting Stars,Cathryn Cade (CJ Cade),Tessa McFionn,Jenna Lincoln
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this box set. Welcome aboard the LS Quantum, a star ship to rival all the star ships. 13 stories based on board and around the entertainers and the guests, finding love among the stars was never their plans, but who are they to mess with fate?? I mostly enjoyed these. One or two I didn't read, and there was no one that stood out as they usually do, for me anyway, in these box sets. Some authors I've not read before, and I find these box sets the best way to find new to me authors. We have humans and aliens, princes and rock stars, murders to solve and thieves to track. All the ones I read were well written, with no spelling or editing errors I spotted. Some are more explicit than others, and some carry are darker undertone. Some are a little more way sci-fi based and some are just two people falling in love on a space ship. A great box set, great value for the £2.95/$3.89 (Nov 8th 2017) is on sale for. 4 solid stars **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

a nice 3 star read
Mended with Gold - Lee Welch Mended with Gold - Lee Welch
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. After witnessing a colleague step on a land mine, and dealing with the aftermath of that, Alex runs to the other side of the world, to to get away from it all and to get back to his photography. Meeting Joe, a comic book artist, shook him more than he thought. But Joe is standoffish. Can Alex break down Joe's walls, as well as his own?? The reviews I find hardest to write are the 3 stars ones. The ones for books that I neither loved, nor hated. That it was just a nice easy read, that didn't blow me away at all. So this, being one of those, is gonna be short and sweet. It's well written but only Alex has his say, in the third person. Yes of COURSE I wanted to hear from Joe, I always want more I know I do, but I think I might have enjoyed this one more, had Joe been given a voice too. Its not overly explicit, there is no break up/make up. There is talk of drug use, but only in the context of looking to score, it's not described in any detail. It's a NICE book! It's only short, some 94 pages, took me just under an hour. A perfect lunch break, bath tub, hangover cure book. Will I read more by this author? Possibly. First I've read of their work. I'll give them another chance. 3 stars **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

short and so deliciously sweet!
The Botanist: Short Story - Claire Smith,Hot Tree Editing,Dahlia Donovan
I was gifted my copy of this book direct from the author, that I write a review was not required. This is book 2.5 in the Sin Bin series, but you don't need to have read book one, The Wanderer, and book two, The Caretaker, to follow this one. BUT! You should. Not least of which they are both 5 star reads, but because I said SO!! US Navy Seal Wyatt is sent on a mission jointly with the Royal Marines and rescues Aled, a botanist caught in the cross fire of a drug smuggling ring, and has been tortured. Wyatt finds himself at odds with his career and his feelings for the young man. Aled relishes the calls and texts from Wyatt, but are his feelings real, or just a PTSD symptom?? I LURVE this one!! Its oh so deliciously; short and sweet, and a huge helping of warm and fuzzies! Ms Donovan does short and sweet so well! Oh, don't get me wrong, the longer books are great and fab and have that cute/fuzzies feeling but the short ones seem to carry it so much more! What I particularly liked about this book, is what's NOT here, it's what is missing. It is almost clean. Bar one scene at the end, there is no sex! And if you follow my reviews, you'll know I do prefer my books, male/male ones especially, on the more explicit side. So, for me to say that I really REALLY loved it, well, says something! AND OH!!!! I just remembered! I said the exact same thing in Ms Donovan's very FIRST book, Ivy! Full circle, we've come full circle. Some of the other guys in the series are mentioned, and we meet some new ones. Hamish, especially, he is the lead Royal Marine and has his story next, book 3, The Royal Marine. Short and sweet, too stinking cute AND warm and fuzzies, cos let me tell ya, they are not the same thing! 5 full stars **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

short but cute!
Clone Me a Lover - Rosalie Redd
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. Oh so deliciously short!! Cute too! Those are my overriding feelings upon finishing this book. Angelo Thirteen is found drifting in space after his ship is damaged. Elle is on a mission to sell some ore to raise funds to rescue her brother. Can a clone built without emotion find the love he craves? Can Elle find a place in her heart for someone other than her brother and her ship? Like I said, short!! 100 pages, little over an hour's reading time for me, but such a lovely way to spend that hour!! I've had a little run of science fiction books, and they can, at times, be a little too overpowering with the technology and stuff, but NOT so here. Just enough science, for Angelo is a clone. We get just enough for why he is Thirteen, and how he came to be craving the things he really shouldn't have. Just enough history, for Angelo and Elle and her brother. Just enough drama, for Elle is trying to keep her brother out of the prison mines. And a little twist at the end that I did not see coming! I do enjoy the way Ms Redd spins her tales, such easy, well rounded, well written tales! I wonder will there be more of these clones that aren't supposed to feel, but do?? A short review for a short book, but a VERY enjoyable book at that. 4 stars. **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

short and so deliciously sweet!
Mr. Plum - Sue Brown
I won my copy of this book and no review was required, but I gotta tell you about this book! Another addition to the Too Stinking Cute shelf, and I really rather loved it. Its only short, some 30 odd pages, but its so deliciously sweet! Tom will tell the story of his and Dave's relationship with the beginning in the launderette. But Dave will tell you, it goes back far before then, to a cup of coffee in a paper sleeve that matched Tom's tie. Even though only Dave has a say, and Tom doesn't get a word in, at all, I still enjoyed it. Its very written, and you connect to both Dave AND Tom really well, for such a short book. I didn't spot a single spelling mistake or editing errors. Sue Brown in a new to me author, and this was a perfect introduction to her work. Fabulous little hangover cure, if ever there was one. 4 solid stars **Same worded review will appear elsewhere**
