Hunting Danger (Redemption Harbor #5) - Katie Reus 

Nova receives what appears to be an S.O.S. message from her best childhood friend and immediately sets out to help her friend. Gage is not about to let the most wonderful woman he’s ever met put herself in any type of danger, even though he knows there is not a chance of starting a romance with Nova. And so, what started as a simple meeting between friends ends up in being the ride of a lifetime.

Nova and Gage’s story was everything I’d hoped for and more! The author was able to weave a perfect romance with non-stop action, friendship, and suspense. There is one specific scene where danger is sky high and the way it was told was so palpable that it was as if I was watching a motion picture!

Their relationship advances at a steady and believable pace. Gage was of a mind that no matter how much he desires Nova their work relationship should be a priority and didn’t want to mess that up. That part was getting a bit on my nerves but at the same time I kind of got his point of view. Furthermore, although Gage was protective of Nova, he was never alpha-annoying and trusted her instincts without hesitation. I don’t know about other readers but I always appreciate a man that treats a woman like a partner and not like a fragile piece of porcelain.
That being said, can I say how much I love Sky and Colt as a couple? We met them in Resurrection, book 1 of this series, and to me their relationship is the epitome of couple perfection ♥ So thank you Katie Reus for giving me another glimpse of what an awesome couple they are in this book! Of course the rest of the team is just as amazing. The tight bond that surrounds them is what think makes this series such a great read.

Innocent Target - Katie Reus 

Hadley has just moved to Redemption Harbor. She’s just getting to know her wealthy father and brother and although she loves them to death, they can be a little overprotective at times. Good thing too because now that someone is threatening her, her brother Brooks and the rest of the Redemption Harbor Consulting team will do anything to protect her.

Just like the rest of the series, this book packs a fast-paced, full of action, edge-of-your-seat plot that was hard to put down. The first chapter was both shocking and amazing and it was everything I want in a romantic suspense. It pulled me right in and from that moment I knew this was going to be a terrific story.

Hadley and Axel relationship is sweet yet it doesn’t lack passion. Their attraction is palpable from the instance they meet and doesn’t falter, even when she discovers his true identity.

Romance and suspense aside, the best part of the story was the people protecting Hadly, specially Skye, whom we got to meet in the first book in the series. She is a bad-a$$ woman through and through and one of my favorite characters ever. If the book was great, Sky and his loving husband Colt making a big appearance made it even better.

Redemption Harbor series as a whole will leave you wanting more and this book in particular will show you what you’re missing out on if you haven’t started it yet.

It was a well written story with enough plot twists to keep me turning the pages however I think I would have enjoyed it more if so many details of the characters would not have been told even before the story started. By the time I got to read about a certain character I already knew who it was and the part he or she was playing in the plot.
The romance of the story was well depicted though. Rafe and Trish were a sweet couple and I liked that Trish never relented her trust to anyone, not even Rafe, at least not at the beginning, which showed that although confused she was still smart enough to make practical decisions.
I liked the story enough to go back to this world and read the rest of the series. 3 stars.

In a nutshell, the heroine Tegan was on the run for two years because a dangerous gangster thought she had stolen something from him. After a few months of living in Miami, she hears the news that said gangster is dead and so decides to finally settle and start a new life in her new hometown and new friends. One of those friends is ex-marine Aaron Fitzpatrick who now works for Red Stone Security. Just when she thought she was finally safe, someone attempts against Tegan’s life and it’s Aaron and company that jump in to the rescue.

So, here are a few things I liked about this story:

- Tegan although innocent didn’t sound stupid. I just cannot deal with heroines that act stupidly in the face of danger.

- Aaron was a typical growly, protective alpha male but had a softer, sweet side when it came to family. I fell in love with the way he interacted with his family and his own child.  

- The author always manages to start off a book with some sort of backstory so I didn’t feel the relationship was based on insta-lust. I think it was rather sweet the way Aaron managed the situation and didn’t push for anything.

And not so much:

- The story sounded a bit repetitive. There were parts that I thought I had already read (but I knew that couldn’t be possible) because the words just kept showing over, and over, and over again.

- This story follows the same formula as other books written by the same author, that of a sweet heroine in trouble and the hero coming to her rescue. If anything, I’d like a man in danger and the heroine rescuing his innocent a$$.

Honestly, I’m addicted to this series and this author so I doubt that the things I didn’t like will affect my future readings by her. For now, 3 stars.

Excellent conclusion to the series. Jared is the FBI agent/profiler who has been hunting the Bride Butcher serial killer for six years. When another victim is found, and there appears to be a link to the first victim, Jared pays a visit to the first victim's sister. Becca has never stopped mourning her sister, nor insisting that she knows who did it. Jared is the last person she wants to see show up at her house. Six years ago, in the middle of the tragic event, she and Jared had had a passionate encounter, but their differences kept them apart. She's had no contact with him since then, including telling him that she was pregnant. 

The attraction between Becca and Jared is just as strong now as it was before, and neither one can deny it. Jared is stunned to discover he has a son, and angry that Becca kept it a secret from him. Some of those feelings have to take a back seat to the mission of finding the killer, but it isn't easy. I liked the way that Jared accepted the truth so quickly, and loved the way he bonded so quickly with Alex. The relationship between him and Becca was a little trickier. He still cared about her, and the feelings were getting stronger, but telling her how he felt would take more courage than he had. He wasn't sure he could handle hearing that she didn't feel the same way. Becca had also cared about Jared, but because he had left without saying anything, she hadn't either.

Now that they are working together to bring the Butcher to justice, those feelings have come back to the surface. Becca feels pretty guilty that she hadn't told Jared about Alex, and making him part of their lives now makes her realize just how much they have missed. Jared needs Becca's help, but his feelings for her have added a whole new level of protectiveness to them. I loved seeing how both of them had to deal with their feelings and at the same time still keep focus on what they were trying to do. I really enjoyed seeing the way that Becca stood up to Jared when it came to trying to trap the killer. When the final confrontation was over, both of them had to face those feelings and decide whether to take the risk. I loved Jared's big moment there, and Becca's surprise.

The suspense part of the story was fantastic. The tension kept climbing, from the discovery of the new victim right through to the final confrontation. I loved seeing Jared and Becca try to discover the link between the first victim and the last one. It was interesting to see how she stuck to her belief about who the guilty person was. When she started receiving threats, Jared was even more determined to discover who it is. I loved following the investigation, and how they came up with several suspects. Each one seemed to be a good possibility and it was hard to settle on any one of them. There was a very interesting twist at the end that I never saw coming. The final confrontation was intense, and I wondered at times just how everything was going to turn out.
