Trick Play (Fake Boyfriend, #2) by Eden Finley 4 Star Review!
Trick Play - Eden Finley

Matt:

Want to know the fastest way to get screwed out of a football career? Get photographed in a compromising position in a gay bar. Yep, welcome to my life.

My agent says he can fix my image. He wants me to become the poster boy for gay football players. Me? I just want back on the field. I’ll do anything to play for the NFL again, even pretend to have a steady boyfriend. If only my fake boyfriend wasn’t Noah Huntington III—the most arrogant, entitled rich guy in the world.

Noah:

Pretend to be Matt Jackson’s boyfriend, my best friend said. It’ll be fun, he said. What Damon neglected to mention is Matt is surly and bitter. Being his boyfriend is a job in itself. From his paranoia over being constantly photographed to his aversion to PDA, being with Matt isn’t the care-free fake relationship I expected when I signed on to do this.

It’s supposed to be a win-win. I get to stick it to my politician dad who thinks no one is good enough for the Huntington name, and Matt’s reputation of being the bad boy of football dies.

What I don’t expect is to start caring for the guy. That’s not part of the plan. Then again, neither is fooling around with him.

Oops.

Review

My love of the fake relationship theme is large and Eden Finley does it so so well.

This book is a delight with this theme between very opposites Noah and Matt. They lust and combust and then really get to know the more complicated people they are.

We get great secondary characters and good sports romance.

There are all kinds of little twists that make this a solid and re readable romance that is sure to delight.

Can't wait for the next one!

Trick Play (Fake Boyfriend, #2)Trick Play by Eden Finley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book #2, in the Fake Boyfriend series. This story can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this great series in order.

Matt has had some changes recently. He was outed against his will, possibly lost his job, and met someone that he could really care about. Little did he know how much in common he would have with Noah.

Noah is doing Matt a favor. Pretending to be in a relationship with him to further his career. Since it helps with his own agenda, it works out. Now if they can both shake off the pain of the past, this could really be a beginning of a whole new future.

This series is so amazing! I loved this book, and found the characters very easy to relate to. There was heat, humor, sarcasm, and was such a joy to read. I cannot wait for the next book in this great series.

About the Author:

Eden Finley is an Amazon bestselling author who writes steamy contemporary romances that are full of snark and light-hearted fluff.

She doesn’t take anything too seriously and lives to create an escape from real life for her readers. The ideas always begin with a wackadoodle premise, and she does her best to turn them into romances with heart. With a short attention span that rivals her five-year-old son's, she writes multiple different pairings: MM, MMF, and MF.  She's also an Australian girl and apologises for her Australianisms that sometimes don't make sense to anyone else.

Fake Boyfriend by Jerry Cole Review
Fake Boyfriend: M/M Straight to Gay First Time Romance - Jerry Cole

Vincent Diaz's life was extraordinarily boring. He worked a boring job and went home to his boring life knowing he'd given up all of his dreams of being an artist and creating for a living. That was when Bryan Andersen barged into his life, smiling, laughing, and pulling him close, declaring him to be his new boyfriend— whether Vincent liked it or not.

Bryan had recently broken up with his girlfriend, Dana, who handled the breakup less than well, leading Bryan to come up with the ultimate excuse— that he had "realized he was gay" and that's why he couldn't see her anymore. She didn't buy it. He needed to find an alibi and quick! Together, Vincent and Bryan fake dating to throw Bryan's ex-girlfriend off his trail, but Dana doesn't give up easily, and Vincent and Bryan find their quick-forming friendship may be leading to a relationship that's not as fake as they had intended it to be....

Review

This was a quick finding yourself kind of romance. It has a gay for you theme which I don't care for much but fake relationships are a favorite theme of mine and this one was fun.

I enjoyed the aspect of the story where both Bryan and Vincent grew as people and found the courage to go after what they wanted to have richer fuller lives.

The stalker element was a bit over the top just in that while Bryan eventually did go to the police, there could have been much more discussed about domestic abuse and stalking of men by women.

They both could have come to a deeper understanding of their sexuality as well.

But it was a quick enjoyable read with some really good parts but shallow and a lack of realism in places and details of location made it not as good as it could have been.

Pretend
Fake Out - Eden Finley

Maddox is in a pickle.  He wants to keep from upsetting his ex-girlfriend.  So he asks his best friend if he can borrow her brother to play his boyfriend.

Damon wonders how he has not met Maddox before.  They do not have a lot in common on the surface, but they actually get along really well.  Is there a future for him with a man who has come out but didn't mean to?

This story was such a great read!  I could not put it down.  I love these characters and hope to see them again in future books.  Such heat and sizzle.  I loved the banter and was really invested in them getting their HEA.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!
