Special Forces: Operation Alpha: Handling Haven: A Deimos/Trident Security/Delta Team Crossover (Kindle Worlds) - Samantha A. Cole

Lucas AKA “Frisco”  meets Haven at her worst moment.  He cannot get her off his mind for months following.  When he sees her again, and the attraction is till there, he knows he must say something.

Haven has already had a hard life.  Going through an injury that may change her life should have been expected.  When it all hits the fan - can she trust someone she just met to make her feel better about her situation?

The Deimos series starts off with a literal bang!  The characters are interesting, as well as mysterious and definitely worth reading.  I loved these characters and the way they interacted.  The gritty story gets your blood pumping, while the love story soothes the rough edges.  I enjoyed every page!  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Tropical Ice by Kat Mizera
Barefoot Bay: Tropical Ice (Kindle World... Barefoot Bay: Tropical Ice (Kindle Worlds Novella) - Kat Mizera

Kat Mizera wins with TROPICAL ICE.  NHL bad boy, Garrett “Hawk” Hawkins, saves Madison Teller from being shot.  The two end-up spending their vacation together in Mimosa Key, Florida; not realizing their live intertwine.  This contemporary sports romance is suitable for new adult audiences.

TROPICAL ICE is part Roxanne St. Claire’s Barefoot Bay Kindle Word series, which I admit I have never read.  However, I could tell which characters were part of the original world the Barefoot Bay series takes place in.  I thought it was clever how, Kat Mizera, incorporated her characters into this setting.

I enjoyed the characters and plot.  I thought it was creative how Garrett and Madison ended up in Florida, met each other, and how their lives intermingle.  A lot of interesting things happen.  The story was well executed and believable.   Madison and Garrett are both likeable characters.  Garrett is in a difficult situation.  The two bond over this vacation and really get to know each other, helping each other grow in a short time.

I really like Madison’s brother, Jamie.  Reading this book made me want to hear his story, so I’ll be picking up TEMPTATION'S INFERNO (Inferno #2).  He’s a good guy.  I like how he handled the situation between Garrett and Madison.   I love how the story ended.  I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Very Brief Thoughts: Her Special Alpha
Hot SEALs: Her Special Alpha (Kindle Worlds) - Paige Tyler

Her Special Alpha
by Paige Tyler
X-Ops #3.5, novella

Former Army Special Forces soldier Travis Dalton finds himself thrust into the mysterious world of the Department of Covert Operations, one where sometimes bad guys do more than shoot you—sometimes they tear you to shreds.

Feline shifter and covert agent Eden Bristow can’t help noticing how good Travis is at guarding her back—and turning her on.  She hasn’t had much luck with guys, not once they get a look at her fangs and claws.

Travis doesn’t seem to have a problem with her being a shifter, and Eden is ready to make up for lost time.  But one little thing is getting in the way of their romance—a gang of bad guys, and the vicious wolf shifter leading them.

This novella was entertaining, exciting, and enjoyable--everything I've come to expect from Paige Tyler.  It gets a little wordy and schmaltzy at times, and I have a hard time believing some of the "meant to be together" dialogue, as it comes off kind of juvenile.  But the action in these books is always done well enough to keep your attention.

The characters are good, and I liked how well Travis and Eden partner together.  You don't get to see much of anyone else, which is a little disappointing, because I would have liked to watch more interaction between Eden and her family, and maybe with some dropped hints that they know she's a feline shifter and still love her... or something.

The romance is steamy, but I liked their investigating partnership a little bit more.  However, I DO appreciate that these two don't beat around the bush about their attraction or their emotions and jump right to it.

The only other complaint is that this e-book was riddled with typos and grammatical errors, like missing pronouns, almost every other paragraph.

Otherwise, not a bad read for a boring evening.

Fantastic!!
Hell Yeah!: Her Hell No Cowboy (Kindle W... Hell Yeah!: Her Hell No Cowboy (Kindle Worlds Novella) (Harland County Series Book 10) - Donna Michaels

Hell Yeah!: Her Hell No Cowboy by Donna Michaels is an amazing story. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. Ms Michaels has delivered a well-written book. Her characters, as usual, are totally awesome and fit this story like a glove. Lincoln and Ashley's tale is packed with drama, humor and spice. I enjoyed every minute I spent reading Her Hell No Cowboy and look forward to reading more from Donna Michaels in the future. Hell Yeah!: Her Hell No Cowboy is book 10 of the Harland County Series and a crossover book in Sable Hunter's Hell Yeah! Kindle World but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

The author never loses her sense of humor while tearing down sexism and inspiring female readers. Elle symbolizes an independent spirit. She's not afraid to listen to her heart. Not just in professional matters but personal ones as well. In a town known for it's friendly atmosphere she makes her mark by just being herself. A valuable lesson in a tiny package.
