We are further of the view that empty/unladen vehicles bound for Delhi, can enter Delhi on payment of ECC earlier stipulated by us at `700 and `1,300 per vehicle depending upon the category to which the vehicle belongs.” This order will override any order by the National Green Tribunal, it said. The bench said: “We had by our order dated 9th October issued certain directions imposing environment compensation surcharge aimed at mitigating the hardship which people living in Delhi undergo having regard to the high of pollution in the city that has earned it the dubious reputation of being the most polluted city in the world.S. Sikri and R. Our order was in the same spirit intended to act as a restraint against vehicles not bound for Delhi entering Delhi.
The bench also directed the Delhi government to take steps immediately to repair pavements and to build pavements wherever these are missing, and to take immediate steps for procurement of the requisite vacuum cleaning vehicles for use on Delhi roads expeditiously, and not later than April 1, 2016. The true intention, however, was that vehicles not bound for Delhi are diverted to alternative routes to bypass Delhi. Banumathi said: “A ban on the registration of such vehicles in the National Capital Territory upto March 31, 2016 will not affect the common man or the average citizen in the city of Delhi. Vehicles “bound for Delhi” may enter on payment of ECC at the rates stipulated, those registered in 2005 or earlier won’t qualify for such entry. The bench ordered the enforcement of all Central pollution control norms at construction sites and banned the burning of solid waste.”This measure shall, the bench said, discourage any vehicle trying to enter Delhi on the false pretext of goods loaded on it being Delhi-bound.
The bench therefore ordered that no vehicle that is not bound for Delhi will be allowed to enter from NH-8, that links Jaipur to Delhi, and NH-1, linking Punjab, Haryana and other northern states to Delhi via the Kundli border. A three-judge bench of Chief Justice T. The levy of ECC has no doubt resulted in some diversion of such vehicles, but a very large number of vehicles not bound for Delhi still appear to be entering Delhi on payment of ECC, stipulated by us. State governments and Union territories will ensure that vehicles with registration numbers of
China wholesale slow rebound toy Supplier 2005 or earlier don’t enter Delhi.”The bench said: “The said direction appears to have been understood to mean as though vehicles not bound for Delhi could also enter Delhi provided they pay ECC.No new diesel SUVs, CNG for all cabs, including Uber & Ola No new diesel SUVs, CNG for all cabs, including Uber & OlaIn order to reduce pollution levels in the nation’s capital, the Supreme Court on Wednesday banned the registration of all diesel vehicles of 2000cc and above and SUVs that are generally used by more affluent people as they more prone to causing higher levels of pollution
