Book review : YOU Caroline Kepnes
You: A Novel - Caroline Kepnes

September 29- October 11

When a beautiful, aspiring writer strides into the East Village bookstore where Joe Goldberg works, he does what anyone would do: he Googles the name on her credit card. There is only one Guinevere Beck in New York City. She has a public Facebook account and Tweets incessantly, telling Joe everything he needs to know: she is simply Beck to her friends, she went to Brown University, she lives on Bank Street, and she’ll be at a bar in Brooklyn tonight—the perfect place for a “chance” meeting. As Joe invisibly and obsessively takes control of Beck’s life, he orchestrates a series of events to ensure Beck finds herself in his waiting arms. Moving from stalker to boyfriend, Joe transforms himself into Beck’s perfect man, all while quietly removing the obstacles that stand in their way—even if it means murder. This book was all kinds of fucked up but I really enjoyed it .

Review :This book is about Joe who becomes obsessed with a girl who came into the bookstore he works at he ends up stalking her and ends up taking the guy she's fucking hostage and eventually kills him . Beck and Joe are both terrible people Beck is very fake and her friend peach is totally obsessed with her . Joe and Beck end up dating and what I think is more creepy about this book it's not saying Beck it says YOU . Joe realizes peach is in his way and tries to kill her also and eventually does . Beck pulls away from Joe and Joe ends up seeing someone else but he's still obsessed with Beck but they end up getting back together but she finds out about everything all the creepy stuff of her's he was storing and he keeps her hostage in the bookstore in the basement and he ends up killing her this book was so fucked up .

Quotes : The problem with books is that they end. They seduce you. They spread their legs to you and pull you inside. And you go deep and leave your possessions and your ties to the world at the door and you like it inside and you don't want for your possessions or your ties and then, the book evaporates.”

Book review : Siege and storm Leigh bardugo
Siege and Storm - Leigh Bardugo

May 5- September 28

Darkness never dies.

Hunted across the True Sea, haunted by the lives she took on the Fold, Alina must try to make a life with Mal in an unfamiliar land, all while keeping her identity as the Sun Summoner a secret. But she can't outrun her past or her destiny for long.

The Darkling has emerged from the Shadow Fold with a terrifying new power and a dangerous plan that will test the very boundaries of the natural world. With the help of a notorious privateer, Alina returns to the country she abandoned, determined to fight the forces gathering against Ravka. But as her power grows, Alina slips deeper into the Darkling's game of forbidden magic, and farther away from Mal. Somehow, she will have to choose between her country, her power, and the love she always thought would guide her--or risk losing everything to the oncoming storm.

Siege and Storm is the second book in The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. Book one, Shadow and Bone, is a New York Times bestseller, and book 3, Ruin and Rising, is an Amazon Best Book of the Year and a USA Today bestseller. This title has Common Core connections, and this deluxe paperback edition features bonus materials like an interview with Leigh Bardugo, a bonus short story, "The Tailor," and more.

Review : I enjoyed the second book a lot Mal and Alina are on the run from the darkling but he finds them and are taken to a ship where we meet some interesting characters Toyla and Tamar and Stumhold who is one of my favorite characters of this series . Alina gets the second amplifier Stumhold helps Alina and Mal escape the darkling . Alina puts on the second amplifer Stumhold takes Alina and Mal to the palace and it turns out he's a prince who was using a disguise he's prince Nickoli and then Alina punches him . Alina is putting together a team to distroy the darkling and keep ravka safe . Alina keeps seeing the darkling and thinks she's loosing her mind . But the darkling is back and a lot of people die but she agrees to go with him and she tries to kill him but she almost dies but she doesn't I love this series and writing is very magical .
Quotes :
Watch yourself, Nikolai,” Mal said softly. “Princes bleed just like other men.”
Nikolai plucked an invisible piece of dust from his sleeve. “Yes,” he said. “They just do it in better clothes.”

The less you say, the more weight your words will carry.”

“Of course not," said Sturmhond. "Anything worth doing always starts as a bad idea.”

I took a breath. “Your highness—”
“Nikolai,” he corrected. “But I’ve also been known to answer to ‘sweetheart’ or ‘handsome.

“I have loved you all my life, Mal," I whispered through my tears. "There is no end to our story.”

And there's no way I'm leaving you alone with Prince Perfect."
"So you don't trust me to resist his charms?"
"I don't even trust myself. I've never seen anyone work a crowd the way he does. I'm pretty sure the rocks and trees are getting ready to swear fealty to him.”

“You heard Prince Perfect," Mal said, and joined us at the table. Nikolai grinned. "I've had a lot of nicknames, but that one is easily the most accurate.

Mal snickered.
"What's so funny?"
"I just pictured the Darkling being cornered by a sweaty duchess trying to have her way with him.”

“Promise not to kick me again, and I'll promise not to kiss you again," he said.
"I only kicked you because you kissed me!

“Scars made good reminders.”

You just punched a prince, Alina. I guess we can add one more act of treason to our list.”
I shook out my sore hand. My knuckles smarted. “First of all, are we so sure he really is a prince? And second, you’re just jealous.”
“Of course I’m jealous. I thought I was going to get to punch him. That isn’t the point.

So what did Jes say?' I asked again, when my brain felt a bit less scrambled.
'He said I should take good care of you.'
'That's all?'
Mal cleared his throat. 'And . . . he said he would pray to the God of Work to heal your affliction.'
'My what?'
'I many have told him that you have a goiter.'
I stumbled. 'I beg your pardon?'
'Well, I had to explain why you were always clinging to that scarf.'
I dropped my hand. I'd been doing it again without even realizing.
'So you told him I had a goiter?' I whispered incredulously.
'I had to say something. And it makes you quite a tragic figure. Pretty girl, giant growth, you know.'
I punched him hard in the arm.
'Ow! Hey, in some countries, goiters are considered very fashionable.'
'Do they like eunuchs, too? Because I can arrange that.'
'So bloodthirsty!'
'My goiter makes me cranky

Book Review : paper princess erin watt
Paper Princess: A Novel (The Royals) - Erin Watt

September 14- 19

From strip clubs and truck stops to southern coast mansions and prep schools, one girl tries to stay true to herself.

These Royals will ruin you…

Ella Harper is a survivor—a pragmatic optimist. She’s spent her whole life moving from town to town with her flighty mother, struggling to make ends meet and believing that someday she’ll climb out of the gutter. After her mother’s death, Ella is truly alone.

Until Callum Royal appears, plucking Ella out of poverty and tossing her into his posh mansion among his five sons who all hate her. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums she came from.

Reed doesn’t want her. He says she doesn’t belong with the Royals.

He might be right.

Wealth. Excess. Deception. It’s like nothing Ella has ever experienced, and if she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees.

Review : I really enjoyed this book it was a good book Ella has lost her mom and is stripping until a man comes to her saying he's her guardian . He brings her to his home to live with his sons and they all don't get along Reed thinks that Ella is sleeping with his dad and wants something out of this situation and she does she wants to graduate and go to college . Her and Easton start to get along a little bit and end up getting a bit drunk and kiss she really wants Reed but they are very cat and mouse . I really like Ella's relationship with her friend val they are good for each other . Ella wants a truce with all the royals peace in the house and Reed agrees . Ella goes out with this guy who is a fucking piece of garbage he drugs her and all the Royals stand up for her and the next day they get back at him it was awesome . Ella and Reed start to get hot and heavy at times Reed tells Ella he's bad for her but she doesn't care she wants him . Ella's birth father gives most of her money and company to her and his wife isn't to happy I feel bad Ella didn't get to know her dad but it seems he would of loved Ella and then something nuts happens Brooke who is the father's ex girlfriend is in Reed's room WHAT THE FUCK and Ella runs away .

Quotes:
You may have lost your family, but you’re not alone anymore, Ella. You’re a Royal now.”

The Royal boys are not what I expected. They don’t look like rich pricks in preppy clothes. They look like terrifying thugs who can snap me like a twig.

“I’m not decent.” “Like I give a shit. You’ve got five seconds and then I’m coming in.”

So what happened? Bump your head on the dashboard when you were blowing your brother last night?” He laughs, then glances at the doorway behind me. “Hear that, Reed? Our new sister thinks I blew you last night.”

“Little sis, I can’t show you my goods. I’m so fine, just the sight of me would ruin you for all other men.”

Sawyer reaches out his hand, tucks a strand of red hair behind her ear and— Oh my God. That’s not Sawyer. My jaw falls open. The nasty burn on his hand, the one he got earlier this week when he’d bungled dinner, is gone. But it had been there yesterday—I remember seeing it. Which means the guy with Sawyer’s girlfriend isn’t Sawyer. It’s Sebastian.

Relax, little Royals. Play all the creepy sex games you want. My lips are sealed.”

My brother’s a good lay.” His eyes gleam. “But he’s not as good as me.”

Oh my God. Was that a laugh? Reed Royal laughs, folks. Someone call the Vatican because an honest-to-God miracle has occurred.”

I didn’t know Steve. He didn’t know me. But as I sit here battling my shock, I suddenly realize that he loved me. Or at least, he’d wanted to love me. And my heart aches that I never got the chance to love him back.

Book Review : The last stand of the new york institute Cassandra Clare
The Last Stand of the New York Institute - Cassandra Clare,Sarah Rees Brennan,Maureen Johnson

August 4-16

Magnus meets Valentine in battle as the Circle attacks the Downworlders of New York City.

In the time of the Uprising, Valentine’s Circle goes after Downworlders in New York...and the Shadowhunters of the Institute must decide whether to join him, or fight with Magnus and his kind. This is the first time Magnus sees Jocelyn, Luke, and Stephen—but not the last. It is not long before Jocelyn seeks him out

Review : This story was really interesting this is when valentines's circle started out and valentine takes this werewolf family and there was a lot of death that day . Tessa was in this story and Jocelyn comes to magnus with Clary to remove her to see shadowhunter world I really enjoyed this story .

Quotes:
Maryse: I am fighting for a better world for myself and my son.
Magnus: I have no interest in the world you want or in your doubteless repellent brat, I might add.”

I don't remember ordering the bride of an evil maniac," said Magnus. "It was definitely beef and broccoli. What about you, Tessa? Did you order the bride of an evil maniac?”

“You are interfering in my business, warlock."
Magnus spat blood into his face. "You are torturing a child in my city, Shadowhunter. [...] I thought we were playing a game where we said what the other person was and what we were doing." Magnus told him. "Did I get it wrong? Can I guess again? are you breaking your own sacred Laws, asshole?”

“If you don't want them to find you, changing your last name seems a fairly elementary first step. Trust me, I'm an expert. I've watched a lot of spy movies.

Jocelyn and Clary Fray,” said Magnus. “It’s nice to meet you.”

“you realize that by standing as you are, everyone will think we are kissing. And that is terribly embarrassing for me. I have much better taste in men.

“I am," said Tessa. "I am Theresa Gray, daughter of a Greater Demon and Elizabeth Gray, who was born Adele Starkweather, one of your kind. I was the wife of William Herondale, who was the head of the London Institute, and I was the mother of James and Lucie Herondale. Will and I raised our Shadowhunter children to protect by the Laws of the Clave and Covenant, and to keep to the Accords.”

What to Buy the Shadowhunter Who Has Everything - Cassandra Clare,Sarah Rees Brennan

Aug 1-3

Magnus Bane may or may not be dating Alec Lightwood, but he definitely needs to find him the perfect birthday present.

Set in the time between City of Ashes and City of Glass, warlock Magnus Bane is determined to find the best birthday present possible for Alec Lightwood, the Shadowhunter he may or may not be dating. And he’s also got to deal with the demon he’s conjured up for a very irritating client..

Review : I really loved this story Magnus totally freaking out what to get Alec for his birthday and he also summons a demon for an annoying client . I love Magnus and alec's relationship they are my main ship in this series and then alec calls Magnus and shows up at his apartment which is so cute loved it .

Quotes

Happy birthday, Alexander," Magnus murmured.
"Thanks for remembering," Alec whispered back.”

“Wait,” said Ragnor, and he started to snigger. “Is this about your Nephilim boyfriend?”
“Our relationship is as yet undefined,” said Magnus with dignity. Then he clutched the phone and hissed, “And how do you know private details about my personal life with Alexander?”
“Ooooh, Alexander,” Ragnor said in a singsong voice. “I know all about it. Raphael called and told me.”
“Raphael Santiago,” said Magnus, thinking darkly of the current leader of the New York vampire clan, “has a black ungrateful heart, and one day he will be punished for this treachery.”

“Raphael calls me every month,” said Ragnor. “Raphael knows that it is important to preserve good relations and maintain regular communication between the different Downworlder factions. I might add, Raphael always remembers important occasions in my life.”
“I forgot your birthday one time sixty years ago!” said Magnus. “You need to let that go.”
“It was fifty-eight years ago, for the record. And Raphael knows we need to maintain a united front against the Nephilim and not, for instance, sneak around with their underage sons,” Ragnor continued.
“Alec is eighteen!”
“Whatever,” said Ragnor. “Raphael would never date a Shadowhunter.”
“Of course, why would he, when you two are in loooove?” Magnus asked. “‘Oooh, Raphael is
always so professional.’ ‘Oooh, Raphael brought up the most interesting points in that meeting you forgot to attend.’ ‘Oooh, Raphael and I are planning a June wedding.’ Besides, Raphael would never date a Shadowhunter because Raphael has a policy of never doing anything that is awesome.”

“The buzzer rang. Magnus pressed the button to let him enter, speechless for a moment because he had wanted Alec there, so badly, and here he was. It felt more like magic than anything he could do.
Then Alec was there, standing in the open doorway.
“I wanted to see you,” said Alec with devastating simplicity. “Is this okay? I can go away if you’re busy or anything.”
It must have been raining a little outside. There were sparkling drops of water in Alec’s messy black hair. He was wearing a hoodie that Magnus thought he might have found in a Dumpster, and sloppy
jeans, and his whole face was lit up just because he was looking at Magnus.
“I think,” said Magnus, pulling Alec in by the strings on his awful gray hoodie, “that I could be persuaded to clear my schedule.”
