The fate of the Hotel LaBelle is on the line and hotel inspector Tallulah Thompson will the need the help of a powerful medicine woman to undo the curse on Lucius, the extremely annoyed innkeeper who is neither dead nor alive. This suspenseful romance that is set in a wonderfully historical inn with lots of Native American influence. Tallulah and Lucius are strong, captivating characters that easily draw readers into their story that is full of emotional turmoil and a relationship that has a major obstacle- the hero is in limbo. This keeps the romance on the sweet side as Tallulah struggles with her attraction to Lucius and wondering if she stands a chance against the past which readers can certainly understand. Lucius is charming and the way he sees things is quite charming and produces quite a few chuckles due to the fact that he has been bound to the inn.

With the fate of Hotel LaBelle on the line, readers easily become caught up in the romance part of the story as well as the suspense of Lucius’ situation and the happenings of the man who is trying to claim the hotel as his own which causes quite a bit of trouble and excitement. The author created a wonderful setting for her series that has its own ambiance that fits this story perfectly and readers definitely want to read every last page of this intriguing romance.

The second book in the Hotel LaBelle series is a thrilling read that holds readers’ attentions from beginning to end as Emma and Bronco a series of deaths that lead to them going undercover to stop a hate group. The characters are strong, vibrant and easily draw readers into their story which has lots of sizzling chemistry, passion, courage and emotional turmoil. The relationship between Emma and Bronco is upbeat throughout the story but of course has a few obstacles along the way especially since they have no idea if they will love or die while investigation this malicious crime.

The story takes a fast pace that keeps readers hanging on the edge of their seat with lots of suspense building events and a dangerous hate group with a maniacal bad guy. Unexpected twists add excitement, thrills and one of those twists adds an emotional punch that rocks the characters and readers to their very foundations. The author brings her thrilling story to life with vivid descriptions that make it easy for the readers to imagine each and every event that takes place and also makes it easy for readers to become engaged with the characters as they investigate this hate group which in turn ensures that readers can’t put the book down until they have read every last word.

This paranormal romance easily holds readers captive with the strong, compelling characters and the thrilling suspense. Bert and Phoebe have sizzling chemistry and their relationship slowly builds up steam and then bombards readers with lots of heated passion. The romance is sweet but full of obstacles that are both personal and professional including lots of emotional turmoil that readers can easily understand which makes it easy for readers to connect. Bert is a veteran hero and an eagle shifter and Phoebe is deaf and has some unique psychic abilities that add flair and intrigue to the story.

The story is fast paced and flows smoothly throughout with lots of adrenaline pumping suspense and excitement that keeps reads on the edge of their seat, while the fascinating mythological elements adds to the intrigue of the story. A missing child case becomes something more when the past comes back to bite Bert and magical happenings adds a mysterious quality to the story. Lots of tension and surprising twists has readers holding their breath with anticipation. Phoebe is quite a tough heroine which throws first impressions right out the window and adds to the excitement of this story although she does kind of steal the story in a way. The overall small town full of family also adds ambiance to the story and ensures that readers will want to visit Hotel LaBelle again to experience all the magic it has to offer.

The plot has a steady build up with a magnetic pull that keeps readers glued to the pages with lots of thrilling suspense and excitement with an adrenaline pumping climax. There are twists and turns throughout and while some of the suspense takes place in the relationship between Tate and Elise, the story also builds intrigue regarding their enemy and the steps the clan is taking to find him. The author has created a fascinating world with some creative and unique elements that make for an ideal change regarding shifter romances. Readers love how the characters receive their beasts through a “Soul Quest” and how the author integrated the tattoos as part of their magic and culture. This book can be read as a standalone, but to receive maximum enjoyment and understanding, they should be read in sequential order.

His hackles bristled, and a low growl rolled up his throat, his beast chiming in with its own displeasure. In the two weeks since he’d met Elise, his companion had grudgingly played along with the self-imposed distance Tate had kept between them. A distance his instincts insisted was crucial to learn and prepare for the hunt ahead. Hell, the way Elise’s heart had hammered in those first few seconds, distance had been downright necessary. The only reliable action that kept him from pinning her to the floor and taking her right then and there.

But his coyote was done with waiting. Had exhausted its patience and was ready to get on with the business of winning their mate.

Almost time. Just a few more hours.

It was more thought and emotion than actual words, the connection between man and animal as natural as his heart and lungs working in synchronization.

A twig snapped.

Tate spun toward the sound, ears tweaking in the direction of soft, but steady footfalls against soil softened by April’s steady rains. Logic told him it was Jade finally showing up to do what he’d asked of her, but with Draven still on the loose and hunting clan primos, the warrior in him wasn’t willing to run on logic alone.

A second later, Jade strode into view, her long dark hair loose and swinging with each confident step, and the silver charms she’d woven into braids on one side of her head sparking in the waning sunlight. While she wasn’t his sister in the truest sense, they may as well have shared blood. He sure as hell wanted to strangle her right about now the way a blood-bound brother would.

He waited until she was within ten feet to welcome his shift, the snap and burn beneath his skin as he relinquished his animal form to the Otherworld nothing compared to the impatience twisting his insides. “You’re late.”

Apparently, he and his coyote weren’t the only ones in a nasty mood, because Jade snarled back at him as only a woman could, a little of her lynx mingling with the sound. “Elise is my friend, not an assignment. If you don’t want to work with my timetable, then get off your ass and engage with your mate the way you’re supposed to.”
“She’s new.”

“So? Katy was new, too, and Priest barely let her out of his sight.”
Oh, Elise hadn’t been far from him. Maybe not always visible, but aside from time spent at work with a tattoo iron in his hand or running down leads on Draven and their missing seer primo when Priest demanded it, Tate had stayed close to her. It’d meant a lot of time in coyote form to maintain control and sleeping hidden outside her home, but he’d kept as tight of a connection as he dared. “She’s different.”
