A refreshingly different and very engaging shifter romance that gets the adrenaline pumping right from the start. All the characters are compelling, but Layla is the strongest and as the story is about her coming into her destiny, readers can’t help but be drawn to her as she hones her newfound abilities and unleashes them against the ones determined to destroy her. The attraction between Layla and Roland is magnetic and readers can plainly see that they are meant for each other but the story focuses more on the overall plot than on the romance.

The story takes place at a fast pace and full of thrilling suspense, exciting events, twists and a betrayal that ensures that the readers never find a dull moment throughout this story. The author has created a fascinating world with some elements that shakes up the shifter world and while readers may feel that some of the events in the story should have been embellished a bit more, the overall story is an exciting read that they just can’t put down.

This paranormal romance is a wonderful story that easily pulls readers in and refuses to let go. The characters are strong and quite captivating and the emotional turmoil of the story is heart tugging while also being sweet. That being said the story also has cheerful and fun side as Tara takes care of her new dog unknowing that he is really a wolf shifter. 

The plot is fast paced and keeps readers in suspense throughout as readers wonder how Max is going spring his surprise on Tara, if his enemies will find him and how Tara will handle the surprise once the secret is out. The story also builds excitement and suspense when Max’s enemies do arrive and bring Max to the attention of another pack and then there is the added suspense of Tara having to decide whether to leave her old behind and move forward or sticking it out where she’s at and readers can’t help but become completely caught up in all the thrills and romance of this wonderful story.

Growing up in the Midwest, I began reading romance novels in high school, immediately falling in love with the genre, to the point where I decided to write professionally for a career. However, that dream splattered against a brick wall and resulting quick death in my first writing class in college when my professor told me bluntly that I wasn't any good at it. 

I shifted gears quickly, and left my writing dreams behind, eventually settling on being a nurse. A few years back, I stumbled across a fan-fiction writing site on a favorite author's webpage. I began to read stories others wrote, not only making some wonderful close friends from the experience, but also, really learning to write for the very first time. Here I was able to share short stories, practice my writing skills, and truly develop into a writer. More than that, the experience allowed me to revitalize my dream, as I rediscovered joy in writing. 

When I'm not working or writing, I enjoy working in the garden, canning, and seeing my backyard as a living canvas for my whimsical landscaping, and, of course, reading romance

The mc romance is an emotionally gripping tale that captures readers’ hearts. Dodge has a precious son and they’ve both been burnt by a horrible woman that readers would love to get their hands on and Alexa has a failed relationship as well, so both characters have some issues which keeps the emotions turbulent throughout the story. But there is also a bit of a communication problem between these two which adds quite a bit of drama and a few chuckles as well. The relationship may be the rockiest one ever, but their chemistry is off the charts and readers can’t help but feel that these two would make the perfect couple…eventually.

The plot is steady paced and in addition to the HEA suspense and the excitement of their courtship, the story also has some suspense building thrills when Alexa becomes the target of some criminal mischief that is not only scary but dangerous as well. The excitement is raised even further by a stunning OMG twist in regards to the ‘bad guy’ so readers can’t help but turn the pages of this book to find out if this explosive couple gets their happily ever after.

He pulled up to her house, parked, and unbuckled his seat belt. “What’re you doing?”

He turned to her. “Walking you to your door.”

She lifted a brow. “You’re walking me to my door?”

“Yeah. A man drops a woman off, he walks her to her door, makes sure she gets in, and locks the door behind her.”

For some fucked reason, he was rewarded then, the kind of rewards that proved God remembered your name. To him, it happened a lot. Having Cullen was a reward every day.

She laughed, loud, and he got to watch—her strawberry hair around her smiling face, sounding flawless, looking gorgeous. A beautiful laugh, another thing perfect about her.

Even having no idea what she found amusing, he couldn’t help but chuckle.

“You’re funny.”

He wanted to ask what made her laugh.

He wanted to tell her he liked he’d made her laugh.

He didn’t share any of that.

Instead, he climbed out of his SUV, walked her to her door, made sure she locked it, and headed back to work.
